Prologue 01
On a Monday night, Dante didn't expect a call regarding about a child that he had no recollection of making. At first, he thought it was just some call from one of his one night stands, he even assumed that he'd have to secretly kill them in order for them to avoid making a fuss. You know how fussy they can be.
Apparently, it was his after a couple of tests to actually confirm it.
And it belonged to a hag he once called wife who didn't even bother telling him that they created their fourth child. However, he didn't have any recollection of doing that, which was the reason why he didn't believe it was completely his in the first place. It is something he'd need to investigate.
Expectedly, the woman ran away. He believed that the poor woman have oneirataxia, which was unfortunate, really. He was devasted and all the more heartbroken yada yada.
But he would have to compliment the flawless escape though. It was as if a bug had escaped a spider's web.
What was unfortunate was the child he didn't know that existed.
Well, la familia lo es todo.
(Family is everything.)
He had informed his sons about the surprise and they were nonplussed. They were absolutely unconvinced that this child was a girl and that she was alive for a year with a witch.
Well, they're more excited about the fact that they're bringing a baby home and that it's a girl.
Their family consist of mostly boys. Most women in the whole family tree either died because of drugs or murder or because they couldn't handle the family business and had mostly run away.
That doesn't mean that all women in the family were extinct, which was good because his daughter wouldn't grow up too barbaric or manly.
But he will love his hija either way.
(Daughter)
Dante has a good feeling that his little hija is strong.
His sons were quite excited too, even making a guest room become a nursery for the infant. It was now filled with toys and lots of pillows to the point where you would think that the floor is made of pillows.
Anthony thought of it and had almost considered finding someone who could actually make a floor made of pillows.
Lucius was against it.
Elois thought of having hidden guns just in case of an emergency.
Lucius considered it.
All in all, Dante and his sons were expecting the sudden change that will come along with the baby. They were actually excited despite the burning fear inside them.
**
The airstrip where they landed was far away from commercial flights.
Men were already outside with sleek black cars awaiting them. Some of them were already holding black umbrellas for them.
Arriving at the airport had been mostly tiring. They unexpectedly ran through a storm that had been nothing but an annoyance. They didn't even expect that there would be a storm in the first place.
"Ah, I wouldn't be able to see Bella." Elois whined while he rested his head on the car's window where they were currently at. It was good that they already had the car waiting outside of the plane. It was less troublesome.
Lucius sighed in annoyance. "Would you quit whining? Damn it, why am I even beside you? Why are we in the same car?"
There were a lot of cars behind them and they chose to sit together? It sounds so useless.
"It's spacious enough for all of us." Dante chided, shaking his head at his son's complaints. "Besides, it's for the men, not for you."
Elois snickered, holding up the teddy bear that previously rested in his arms. He brought the teddy bear's arm to poke Lucius' cheek with a snicker. "Don't be sad, Luci. Mwistah bear's gonna make the boo boo go all bwettah!"
Elois had always been the one to annoy his brothers. He's always the childish one in the group. Sometimes it's because he's really just wanting to annoy the hell out of his family, maybe because of boredom, sometimes it's because he wants to reduce the tension within them.
Like right now.
Lucius harshly grabbed the bear out of the youngest son's grasp and threw it somewhere in the car. "Que te jodan!"
(Fuck you!)
Lucius, the second son, was the harshest, violent person out of the three sons. He was confident and had always held his head high. He was mostly the pillar that was meant to be the most reliable one.
Elois shrieked. "That was for Bella! What if you broke it?"
"That tonto del culo bear."
(Ass fool.)
Anthony looks at them with a smile that could probably kill, if that were possible. He even tightly grabbed Lucius' shoulder in a warning. "I don't want to hear another curse word out of your mouth when we finally have Isabella, Luce."
Elois 'ooh'ed like a little child while snickering.
"That goes for you too." Anthony tutted, causing Elois to lean back on his seat with a sigh of disappointment. He didn't expect that he was part of getting scolded. Elois can't really disrespect his eldest brother. The man's much worse than their father if they were to annoy him too much.
Well, that's a mama bear for you.
Even when they they were young, Anthony was always watching out for them. Since their mother was a proper bitch, he had been the one to fill up the empty space that their mother was supposed to fill. It's a good space for Anthony since, out of all of them, he's the gentlest giant.
That doesn't mean he's less frightening.
Anthony huffed like a mother scolding her children for being naughty and just crossed his arms to look at the window where the thunderstorm rang loudly in the skies.
Dante shakes his head, deciding that he wouldn't punish his son for throwing a bear at his face just as he was about to open his mouth.
Talk about disrespect.
He ordered his driver, who looked too new for anyone's liking, to move and they finally did. Though, with sad hearts because they wouldn't be able to meet the baby today due to the weather.
"Why can't we buy a house here for the meantime?" Elois asks his father. "Surely, that wouldn't take more than a day, right?"
The driver gulped at those words, beads of sweat was starting to form from his forehead when he realization started to dawn him. The people in the car was far from some normal rich family.
Lucius leaned back, getting himself relaxed. He smiled mischievously which was more charming and beautiful than a devil grinning wickedly. "Yeah, papa. Why can't we? I hate hotels."
"Now, now." Dante started but was cut off when Elois sighed loudly, being dramatic as ever.
"Won't the baby enjoy a house more than a hotel?"
"That baby doesn't know anything about the difference between a house and a hotel. Besides, we will go home immediately after we get Isabella." Dante may sound like he was calm but the driver knew better than that. His sons knew better than that. Dante was warning his children.
Lucius considered the consequences and decided to go to hell. "For once, I agree with the idiot—"
"Hey!"
"—And I say we buy a house. For future purposes, of course." Lucius said, smirking lightly. Of course, there was something in his eyes that would have made anyone think he was going to commit felony. "Hey, newbie! What would you want if you were rich? Buy a house right now or go to some uncomfortable hotel and be so miserable?"
Dante growled at the disobedience of his son. "Lucius."
"S-Sir..." The driver tried to get a word out other than 'sir' but was stuttering because holy shit, who wouldn't? They were frightening. It was as heavy as the rain that fell down from the sky.
Elois giggled adorably, his eyes twinkling in delight when he saw the driver squirm uncomfortably in his seat, his knuckles turning white due to how tight the driver held his steering wheel.
Like a worm squirming helplessly.
The driver felt helpless. Fear clenched his heart, causing him to be impotent of breathing for a moment. He was nervous, his heart drummed loudly to the point where he thought that the men in the car would hear his cowardice.
"Lucius." Dante warned, his tone changing into a different one that made Lucius tense. Hell, it even made the driver tense. "Elois." The said boy tensed as well, looking uncomfortable, like the rat, as his father stared down at them down like an absolute monster.
Anthony rolled his eyes at his brothers' jests. He looks at their driver, who was looking at the rear view mirror, with a charming, apologetic smile plastered on his face. "I'm sorry about that. My brothers were just joking about the whole thing. You can't actually buy a house in just a day, right?"
The driver nodded desperately, hoping to be spared mercifully. "Y-Yes, of course, sir."
Anthony smiled comfortingly and nodded like an angel in disguise. The driver felt at ease for some reason. His shoulders sagged.
Anthony saw those action with calculative eyes and he smiled nonchalantly, like nothing happened. "Good boy."
Then, Anthony's smile fell, the comfortable smile vanished, his eyes turned dim and the beam of mirth suddenly vanished, replacing a hollow look, and he just gazed back at the window with a silent sigh. He was always like that.
Dante sighed. Boys.
Elois looks at Anthony with a pout. "Tony..." He silently whined, but there was a sneer painted on his face. "You're a liar."
Lucius snickered, his eyes twinkling in actual delight. He jabbed his eldest brother lightly. "Can't buy a house my ass."
Anthony looks at his brothers with a little genuine smile. He placed his index finger above his mouth and smirked.
"Nobody needs to know."
It turns out that they didn't need to buy a house because Dante already owned a condominium and had a whole floor for themselves.
Elois waved childishly at the frightened driver who hastily entered his car in a hurry after he opened the doors for them.
Lucius tutted at his youngest brother before whispering at his ear. "Don't scare him."
Elois giggled, his eyes glinting mischievously. "Can I kill him? He seems nice."
The idiot ignored Lucius' reprimand and just said some idiotic thing.
Lucius shakes his head while considering if he could strangle a person in public. He would do the world a favor because he would strangle an idiot who couldn't comprehend simple english.
After considering the consequences, he decided against it. An idiot isn't worth it.
"No." Anthony said sternly before rolling his eyes and just walked away from them and away from the raging storm.
Dante hummed softly. "He's always the responsible one." He shakes his head in disappointment before looking at Elois, who pouted at Anthony's direction.
"He's always no fun." Elois mumbled, hugging the teddy bear closer to him after Dante gave it back to him when they walked out of the car.
Lucius rolled his eyes. "That's because you take your jokes too far."
"It was a joke! A joke! I wouldn't do that." Elois huffed, looking upset. He then paused, his upset expression fell and he looked like he was considering something before shrugging. "Probably."
Lucius would strangle an idiot today, so help him.
The idiot never learns.
Dante nodded. "You wouldn't want Isabella to copy you, right?"
Elois straightened up at the name of his baby sister. He looked dead serious when he nodded at his father's question.
"Yes, sir."
Dante nodded approvingly, ruffling his son's hair with affection. "Good choice. We would have some serious consequences if that failed, won't we, mí hijo?"
(My son?)
Elois looked at the ground with a sullen expression painted on his face. "Sí, papa."
(Yes.)
Dante smiled and patted his son's cheek. "Good boy."
Lucius just rolled his eyes before following his precious big brother inside, mumbling an insult to Elois.
They want their sister to be an angel. Of course, that much was obvious, even for an idiot.
I do hope that you guys have enjoyed it!
