Ch.3: ABORT MISSION
-Next Day-Noah's Ark Circus Perfomance Tent-
"Ouchie..." Ciel hissed in pain as he slipped off of one of the balance balls and landed on the ground with a soft 'thunk'.
"You would think you'd have a lot more balance since you did the tight rope." Freckles laughed as she stood above Ciel, holding her hand out to the blue haired 16-year-old.
"Aha, right." Ciel falsely laughed as he accepted her help with standing back up.
The pair then glanced in the direction they heard a scream, followed by the sideshows beginning to gather into a group.
"Excuse us!" Ciel and Freckles jumped away from each other as Elf rushed by, followed not too far behind by Cyclops and Siren.
The pair shared a look, before following the trio. They pushed to the front of the group to see a boy, maybe thirteen, lying on the ground with his chest rising and falling hastily, with Elf bending next to him and helping the younger male sit up with the help of Cyclops.
"You're alright." Elf sighed, then turned to the worried crowd of sideshows with an assuring smile. "He'll be OK, just a sprained wrist is all." He told them, before opening his first aid box.
Happy with the answer, the crowd dispersed, other than the boy's friends, Ciel, Freckles, Siren, and Cyclops.
"What were you doing, anyways, Foot-loose?" Cyclops sighed, placing his hands on his hips while staring at the whimpering tween as Elf gently moved his wrist from side to side.
"W-we were just trying to do Trapeeze acts. One hand let go while the other tried keeping me swinging." Foot-loose answered.
Siren bent down to the sitting male's height and scowled, before flicking his forehead. Causing Foot-loose to whine in even more pain. "Try being more careful, you idiot." She scolded. "I'll kill you if you die from being so stupid."
Ciel and Freckles shared a confused expression, while Foot-loose, his friends, and Cyclops sweatdropped. That made no sense!
"R-right. Sorry, Misses Siren." Foot-loose apologized.
With a satisfied nod, Siren returned to her stance next to Cyclops.
"Give it a week, and it'll heal." Elf, seeming not to have heard the previous conversation, told Foot-loose calmly.
"Yes sir, Mr. Elf!" Foot-loose smiled brightly, before being helped up by two of his friends, who then escorted him out of the tent.
"How's rehearsal going?" Ciel jumped in surprise at the warm breath that tickled his ear, and he turned to look at Siren, who was staring at him with a pretty serious expression. A piece of grass sticking from between her teeth.
"E-eh?" Ciel managed to stutter out.
"She asked how your training is going." Cyclops monotonously said, folding both of his arms on top of Elf's head and staring at Ciel. Elf looked at the blunette sympathetically.
"He's absolutely horrid, no balance at all. And he's really skinny!" Freckles huffed, completely throwing Ciel under the bus.
"That'll be fixed soon enough. You'll never become a First string that way." Siren pointed out, draping an arm over Ciel's shoulders.
"R-right." Ciel muttered.
"Talking about becoming First stringers, take a look at the other two newcomers." Freckles whistled, causing the group to glance at Sebastian and William, who Ciel and Sebastian found out was also in the circus the day before undercover. The two were on balance balls, plus a bunch of bowling pins. "They're almost inhuman." Laughed the brunette female.
"You have no idea." Ciel and Siren muttered in sync.
The two instantly looked at each other in shock, though Siren's shocked expression soon turned to a cocky one as she smirked. Removing her arm from his shoulders, Ciel instantly missed the smell of smoke and grass that the female had been surrounding him in, Siren took a few skips back to standing beside Elf and Cyclops.
"Well we got more stuff to tend to, please keep up the good work~" the (H/C) grinned, before linking her arms with the two males' and led them towards where she knew the First stringers were.
"Looks like you got here just in time." Wendy smiled at the trio once noticing them, Peter in return scoffed while his partner jabbed him in the side.
"Stroke of luck, I guess." Elf sighed.
"Stroke of luck my ass!" Cyclops snickered, wrapping his arm around Elf's neck.
"Knock it off ya two." Siren rolled her eyes, leaning against Beast's side comfortably. The other female staring at her adopted sister with a motherly type of smile.
If Beast was close to any female in the whole circus, it'd be Siren, simply because the younger female always stood up for Beast against pervs from the orphanage and in their circus days. In return, Beast taught her everything she would need to know.
Maybe that's why she could never be upset for long when Siren talks bad about Joker?
"The sideshows are definitely becoming a handful, trying to become one of ya guys." Siren stated, puffing a loose strand of (H/C) out of her vision.
"You know you love them." Cyclops pointed out.
"Mmm...Sure." Siren grinned, taking the piece of grass from between her lips and twirling it between her thumb and index finger.
"'Ee is just like their mother though, 'ee know!" Joker excitedly pointed out.
"If she's the mother, than that makes you the father." Peter grinned, him and Wendy snickering at the astonished expressions that the others wore.
"No way!" Joker exclaimed, wide eyed with a faint blush.
"Over my dead body!" Siren sneered, the same blush covering her own cheeks.
Dagger and Beast released breaths they didn't know they were holding.
"Anyways." Cyclops coughed awkwardly, while Elf shifted uncomfortably. "Did Father like his present?" The red eyed male asked.
___Quick Time Skip___
"That gives you ten minutes to release the snakes before the encore." Ciel instructed his butler.
"Oh my~ Doesn't that sound suspicious? What are you planning to do with Snake's snakes?" Hummed a feminine voice, causing the three males to pause what they were doing.
At the mouth of the tent that Sebastian and William shared stood Siren, who was leaning against the pole.
