I rush through the streets trying to reach my workplace which was a small corner flower boutique owned by my elderly grandmother, I really just help her around and handle most things for her.

About two blocks away from the shop I rewind the events that had occurred today, although it's only eight in the morning. Still really puzzled at how time slipped like water between my fingers when with Tristan.

Tristan... I really thought he was an Adam but Tristan just makes him sound like the sun has personally given birth to him.

I arrive at the shop, push the door and leave it open so that the air would kiss the flowers good morning and wake them up. My grandma is already inside drinking coffee and reading a book by the cashier register.

"Lee, you're late." She says in a sing song voice not removing her eyes from her book.

"I know, I'm sorry Margo. I... I overslept." I laugh away my lie trying to make it a bit believable but still blushed nonetheless.

"Uh-huh, 'course you did.." she drops her book and pulls down her reading glasses slightly to give me a pointed look as if to show me that she obviously knows I lied.

"You know Lee? I don't remember seeing you asleep this morning when I woke up, in fact your bed looked as if it hadn't been touched all night."

I mentally ram my head through countless walls for being an idiot. I've been living with Margaret for the past 3 years because of my parents' decision to divorce. Their failure of continuing their lives together was caused by a miscarriage a year before the divorce. The connection between my parents had been lost for much longer than that miscarriage, they just thought if they tried to have another baby then things might be fixed but, after the horrible news both consumed themselves in their separate work fields and neglected their already existing child. When asked after the divorce whom would I rather live with, I chose my grandmother and thankfully -but still much to my utter disappointment- they didn't object.

My only concern nowadays is gran's health as it's been declining recently, I try to take her to regular check ups with the doctors and keep her as healthy as one can be.

"Lee, I'm going to go now and buy us breakfast, want anything special?" I blink trying to get out of my daze and focus on what she's saying.

"No thank you, just coffee and a chocolate muffin will do." Although I had coffee this morning but I never turn down an extra cup of caffeine, I'll also need the energy boost now that I take a good look at the shop, a lot of work is ahead of me.

"Alright then, you know what is needed to be done and if you want anything just call me. Now, see you later dear." And with that she's off.

Gran likes to take her time walking, enjoying the weather, the sun and after she gets to the coffee shop, she likes to spend a some time there before ordering and coming back so, it'll be a while before she returns.

I get to work; basking in the serenity of my surroundings, the smell of flowers providing me with peace of mind and the sun rays bouncing off the small water droplets on the plants making them shimmer in broad daylight, giving the shop a soft golden buzz to it. I get to watering the flowers and freshening them up, tidying the packaging station and throwing away all the excess materials lying around. An hour into cleansing the area, I hear the bell like sound from the front desk.

"Hello, how can I help you?" I approach the guy with a welcoming smile. He's tall with silk like strawberry blond hair that shines brightly due to the sunlight coming through the glass windows, blue eyes that are sparkly like the ocean in the summer and he looks around my age.
