Waking Up Beside Him
Dean stirred and felt something against him. He opened his eyes to see Castiel. Or, rather, the top of his head, seeing as the village boy was pressed against his chest. He was still asleep and looked content.
His hair was messy, unsurprisingly, and it tickled Dean's chin. Castiel's arms were wrapped around him. Castiel groaned and his head popped up, hitting Dean square in the jaw. He bit his tongue hard and cursed.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" Castiel immediately apologized. "I'm sorry, please don't be mad at me." He even looked afraid. The anger melted off of Dean from looking in his eyes.
"It's- It's alright, Cas, it was just an accident." Dean smiled reassuringly. The fear left Castiel's eyes and he hugged Dean. Dean hugged him back, getting a warm sensation in his stomach.
"Thank you." He whispered.
Dean flushed. "What for?" He replied softly. Castiel pulled back and looked at Dean. He stared at Dean for a couple moments. A tint of pink reached his cheeks. His eyes then widened.
"Oh no!" He sighed, his face in his hands. Castiel remembered his friends, back at the village.
"What? What?" Dean asked, hoping it wasn't serious.
"They're gonna think I'm dead," He murmured through his fingers. "My friends at the village, Charlie and Gabriel." Castiel looked up at Dean.
"But- Surely, your parents will let them know."
"No, if it gets out I ran away, they'll be talk of the town. They'd never let it, I'll have just... disappeared." Castiel put his head on Dean's shoulder. He sighed again. "But I have you, right?" He said, replacing his face with another smile.
"Yeah," Dean said, smiling. "And if you really want, I could deliver letters to the town from time to time, I guess." A chuckle came from Castiel.
"That'd be nice." Castiel bit his lip, considering it. He felt a warm feeling in his chest. "Dean, you are very kind." He commented. Castiel's stomach growled suddenly. He put his palm to his face, shaking his head. "Sorry." Dean shook his head.
"Stop apologizing. You're hungry, I assume?" Dean said. Castiel bashfully nodded. "Okay." Dean stood pulling Castiel with him. "This is the wild. You said your dad hunts, right?"
"Y-Yeah but it's mainly pigs, bunnies, deer."
"Oh, pet names already? Well, I can hunt too-"
"Wh-No, like... Deer, the animal." Castiel tried to explain, his face red as a tomato. "And you hunt? OH- that's- ugh. I'm so stupid, of course, you hunt. You're a wolf, I mean, how else do you get things to eat-" Dean clasped his hand over Castiel's mouth. It immediately made him stop talking, looking at Dean questionably. "Dean?" His voice muffled.
Dean didn't say anything before he knew it Castiel's tongue slid over his hand. He pulled him hand away quickly. Castiel had a smirk on his face. "Did you just- lick my hand?" Dean asked looking between his hand and Castiel.
"Yes." Castiel simply said. "It was the only way to get your hand off my mouth." He shrugged.
"You could've taken my hand off with yours."
"That'd involve moving, Dean," He whined. Dean laughed.
"That lazy huh?"
"Shut up." Castiel rolled his eyes. "Let's just kill something already." He started walking down the path, after he picked up his basket. Dean didn't notice it before but Castiel was wearing a dress with a little cape. Castiel looked behind him and saw Dean staring at him. "What?"
"Nothing." Dean shook his head.
"Well come on then."
