My Hero
Dean winced waiting for the shorter man. He enjoyed his presence and it gave a good essence to it. He felt lonely and looked around before hearing a noise break in the house. He scurried to the back door to the cottage. He scratched on it before it opened lightly by itself.
"Cas?" He whispered. He tiptoed to the kitchen and saw a broken pot. A tall man was gripping a long piece of a woman's hair. Castiel stood in between the two shocked.
"I can't believe you'd ever, ever, think about cheating on me! I've done nothing but been a loving husband and father! And you decide to cheat on me?! Why? Why, Naomi?" The tall man yelled, gripping tighter. "Huh? Tell me!"
"Dad, stop!" Castiel yelled, trying to remove his father's grip from the woman's hair. Dean cocked his head to the side. Castiel was hit in the face, being pushed to the ground.
"Stay outta this boy! How many times do I gotta tell you that?! Or else you're next." Dean growled, silencing the tense in the room, his teeth stuck out and were sharp. Castiel's father turned around and let go of the woman's hair, staring in confusion.
"What the hell is that?" His father yelled, pointing at Dean's half wolf figure. Castiel looked over at Dean. Castiel's mother gasped in shock seeing him.
"They're called 'wolf people,'" Castiel explained. Both of his parents heads turned to him.
"But I thought that was an old fable." His father said. Castiel rolled his eyes.
"And here we are." Dean said, gesturing to himself with obvious irritation. Castiel smiled and stood beside Dean.
"Castiel you come back here! Who knows what these 'wolf people' do?!" His mother yelled. Castiel petted Dean, scratching mainly behind his ears like a dog. Dean's face softened and he leaned into the touch. Castiel's hands were scratching his "special" spot.
"See? They're not dangerous," He continued running his hands through the wolf's hair. His parents stared at the two with a bit of shock.
"Castiel... it likes you?"
"He, Dad." His father rolled his eyes.
"Fine. He likes you? I mean- wolves? Seriously, this soft?" His father questioned. Castiel pulled his hands away in anger.
"Yes. Wolves have weaknesses too, y'know." Castiel said. "But Dean trusts me, that's probably why I can get so close."
"Get it out of my house," His father ordered. Castiel sighed and looked back at Dean. Dean tilted his head, Castiel could see hope in his eyes. Castiel made a decision and looked back at his parents.
"No." He shook his head.
"No? Castiel, please." His mother interrupted the tense moment. Castiel would do anything for his mother but this time he just couldn't. He shook his head again. That's how Castiel got thrown out of the cottage. His father was furious and his mother couldn't have any force over it. Castiel was only with his clothes and his little basket of his stuff. Dean rubbed his head against the boy's shoulder.
"What is it, Dean?" Castiel looked at him.
"We can head back to my cave, if you want? I just- I'm sorry. That I've caused you all this trouble." He made a wincing sound, his ears falling to the sides.
"Dean, I've needed to leave that house for a while... Thank you for the offering, that sounds great." Castiel smiled. "Don't worry." He patted his head.
"Really? Well... it's far, sadly. Do you mind walking?" Dean's ears perked up in joy.
"Of course, lead the way." Castiel smiled. Dean returned a smile and started to walk in the direction of his home. Castiel sat down at some point on a log, his legs tired out. Dean looked behind him to see Castiel a foot away. Dean walked back to him.
"Maybe we should rest here for tonight." Dean said, now sitting down. Castiel simply nodded, sighing. He then rested his head on Dean's shoulder, closing his eyes, before falling asleep. Dean looked down to see the sleeping boy.
_
Castiel woke up on the hard ground. He asked himself where he was till he remembered everything yesterday.
