Ch.9: The Time Machine
-UNKNOWN-Sunday-
Y/N was lying under the white control panel, a paperclip in between her teeth as she messed around with some of the wires that needed to be rearranged so that she could try turning on her broken down machine.
"N/N-chan~!" A cheerful voice called out, causing one of Y/N's eyebrows to twitch in irritation.
You've got to be kidding me.
Y/N put the bottom of the panel back on, locking it in place with the paperclip, before rolling out from under and sitting up.
"All I ask is one day away from you guys, is that so hard to ask?" Y/N asked as she walked out of the time machine, an irritated look on her face.
"Don't you like us, N/N-chan?" Honey's eyes welled up with tears, causing Y/N's soft side to instantly come out.
"Of course I like you guys, it's just that I've got to get this hunk of junk working." Y/N said with a sigh.
"But you're always working on this stupid thing." The twins said, causing Y/N to turn to look at them and glare when she saw them kicking the Time Machine.
"O-oi! Don't just kick it! That thing is worth more than both of you combined!" Y/N shouted, punching both of their heads.
"I highly doubt that." They both said in a slightly whining tone as they rubbed the bumps on their heads.
"Well since there's only three of these actually existing, I'm pretty sure that it's worth more than two of you." Y/N replied with a dangerous glint in her eyes.
"That reminds me, how come you even have this thing, Y/N? You're a little young to be an ordinary Time Traveler, aren't you?" Haruhi questioned.
"Huh?" Y/N blinked as she glanced at the brunet male, before she deadpanned. "Haru-nii, you watch too many movies."
"Hah?" Haruhi looked startled at the blunt accusation.
"Only the L/N family can own a Time Machine, that would include my father who has his own like I do, and my siblings that have to share." Y/N said, tapping her chin with her index finger.
When the (H/C) female saw the blank stares she was receiving, she sighed loudly.
"The L/N family has worked on electronics in (C/N) for about seventy-five years, or will, since the first L/N to start the family business hasn't graduated college just yet...Anyways, the first working Time Machine was invented thirty years before I was born. It is, of course, a secret from the public for obvious reasons, though within the thirty years of having been made, the L/N's had made it a tradition that whenever we are seven years old, we will start Time Traveling and make sure that everything is how it should be." Y/N tried explaining.
"So you've been traveling around since you were seven years old?" Haruhi asked with wide brown eyes.
Y/N smiled widely and nodded. "Mhm...It's been really fun too, especially since I've met so many interesting people." She said cheerfully.
"Like who N/N-chan?" Honey asked, seeming interested.
"Ah, well I've met some of the usual villagers and what not, but I've also met some important people, like Columbus, Moses, hmm...Oh! I also met Mun-deok." Y/N said, (E/C) orbs sparkling in excitement.
"Mun-deok?! Like that one from the Dragon Legend*?!" Honey asked with wide eyes.
"Ah? It's not a legend. I actually met some of the Dragon Warriors. Oh, you should've seen the Gin Dragons-" Y/N began to speak, before being cut off.
"I don't really see how this thing has survived so long though, it doesn't even look all that great." Kyoya commented, writing something in his black notebook as he stood beside the Time Machine.
"Hmph." Y/N puffed out her cheeks in an adorable pout, before a big grin covered her face and she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Haven't you ever heard the statement, 'Never judge a book by it's cover', Kyoya-senpai?" She questioned.
Kyoya raised an eyebrow, and the other hosts watched as Y/N walked over to the elevator like Time Machine, pressing a button that opened the doors. "Now, I'm not allowed to let just anyone in, so please don't break anything and don't tell anybody what you've seen, or else I'll kill you all." She said, surprising and scaring the others since she had the most sweetest voice and cutest expression.
The hosts seemed to hesitate, before walking into the bright white light that the Time Machine was giving off, only to stare in surprise at the layout in front of them.
It was just a simple room, not too big and not too small, probably the right size for someone to walk around if they need to. It was all white, making it look futuristic. There was a white desk that had three computers connected to each other, and then three large TVs on the opposite wall, all screens consisting of different things, such as dates, names, places, and what is going on.
"You guys look like you've seen something amazing." Y/N said in a teasing tone, elbowing Kyoya's side and causing the taller male to flinch and send a slight glare at the female, before freezing when he noticed she wasn't there anymore.
"If you guys think that this is cool, then wait until you see my favorite room!" Y/N's cheerful voice, caused Kyoya and the other six to look at Y/N who was standing beside the panel.
After pressing a few buttons, a door was revealed, and Y/N quickly went to open it.
"Come on in." Y/N sent a teasing wink to them, and walked inside of the room.
The seven males glanced at each other unsure, before following her hesitantly.
"Woah..." The twins were the first to speak at the scene in front of them.
The room was a walk in closet, almost as big as the room they had been in before, though it had different levels on it.
"Cool, isn't it? I have an outfit for just about every century." Y/N said, standing on a level above them.
She then jumped in the open space in front of them.
"Isn't that the dress you arrived in?" Haruhi commented, seeing the (F/C) dress that was lying on a white chair that was near a bunch of different shoes.
"Huh? Oh, right, I haven't put it up yet." Y/N commented, walking over and picking it up.
"Victorian-era, 1836-1901, when the British were under the rule of Queen Victoria. Man, she was a piece of work." Y/N said as she went up a flight of steps and putting the dress up.
"You met Queen Victoria?" Tamaki questioned.
"You can say that." Y/N shrugged her shoulders. "Though during that time period I mostly spent my time pirating with Captain Carriedo, or I was hanging around the Phantomhive brat, not much else to do over there in Europe, to tell you the truth."
"Which reminds me, Kyoya write a note that I need to contact Ciel-kun when we have our next ball." Y/N said as she walked back down to where the others were-the twins, Honey, and Mori looking at the different outfits and trying to figure out what places they came from, and Haruhi just looking in awe at the information that the twins knew of the clothing, and Tamaki and Kyoya watching the (H/C) female closely.
"The owner of the Funton Company*?" Kyoya questioned, looking a bit startled that she knew someone so high up in the trading businesses, and glancing through his black notebook.
"Yeppers." Y/N smiled widely and nodded as she now stood in front of the blonde and dark haired male.
"You have a lot of surprises, don't you, Y/N?" Tamaki smiled slightly as he glanced around.
"Nope, I'm an open book if you knew me enough." Y/N simply stated, surprising the blonde.
"I see..." He muttered, rubbing his chin.
"So what were you working on before we interrupted?" Kyoya questioned.
"Ah, just the communicator. I was hoping to contact my brother and see if he'll bring some gas that I need, though the stupid thing keeps shutting down every time that I try to plug it in." Y/N sighed, leading the two back into the first room, as the others continued to look at the cool outfits, and weapons that were displayed with different dates on them.
"You mentioned before that you had siblings." Kyoya said.
"And that's all you'll know about my personal life, Kyoya-senpai." Y/N smiled charmingly at him.
"Now since the others are going to be in there for awhile, why don't you two help me? Tamaki, there are some tools outside can you grab those and bring them in? And Kyoya, please look up what wires I shouldn't cut, in case of an explosion."
"H-hai..."
-Fujioka Apartment-After Dinner-
Y/N and Haruhi waved goodbye to the others as they left, before Y/N closed the door and the two collapsed on the couch with large sighs of relief, meanwhile Ranka had first dibs on the shower so the two had to wait to discuss about what to do now.
"Hey, Y/N?"
"Yes, Haru-nii?" Y/N glanced over at the brunet, who looked like he was in deep thought about something.
"I agree with the twins, you have been working on your Time Machine a lot, almost as if you're in a rush to leave." He said, looking at her with a serious gaze.
"Well it's only expected. This isn't where I'm supposed to be, Haruhi, you know that, don't you?" Y/N questioned as she looked at the male.
"Of course I know that, but when you do fix the Time Machine, will you be willing to leave?"
Y/N looked shocked at the question, before a serious expression crossed her features as she thought about her answer. "I'll be honest. If the Time Machine is fixed, I will leave."
After all, there's no one who would want me to stay.
