Ch.3: Butterflies
-Music Room #3-Day 3 CONTINUED-
About three hours after the clients had left, Y/N fought with the Hosts over her very boyish appearance, and she finally got them to agree to allowing her to at least wear the boy's uniform jacket and a matching blue skirt instead of the disgusting yellow dress.
The poor (H/C) was also 'trained' by Tamaki about how to act as a proper hostess for two hours -often being distracted with fanboying over how cute she was-.
Now, Y/N was patiently sitting on one of the pink couches beside Haruhi, who looked more than unwilling to have stayed so late after school hours with the idiots, I mean Hosts.
"Now that you are going to be a hostess, we need to give you a type!" Tamaki suddenly stated, striking his prince pose.
"Type?" Y/N questioned, tilting her head curiously.
"Yes. Every host has their own type. Tamaki is the Princely type *Tamaki smiled charmingly at Y/N*, the Twins are the Devilish type *both grinned at Y/N and hooked their arms together*, Honey-Senpai is the Lolita type and Mori-Senpai is the Strong-Silent type *Honey happily waved from his seating where he was eating cake and Mori blankly glanced at Y/N*, and Haruhi is the Natural type." Kyoya listed off to Y/N, who nodded slowly as she listed the names in her head.
"What about you, Kyoya-Senpai?" Y/N questioned.
"Kyoya is the Cool type!" Tamaki said, cheerful as always.
Y/N hid a laugh, and glanced at the Hosts in amusement. Cool? What's so cool about him? She thought, before smiling innocently. "So what should my type be?" She questioned.
"Hmm...Good point." Tamaki said, tapping his chin.
"She's really cute, how about the little sister type?" The twins spoke in sync. Shocking.
"But Honey-senpai's type is cute. We can't have two cute types." Kyoya stared, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose with the pen he had been using to write in his notebook.
"True." Everyone quickly agreed, as Y/N sat there, looking quite bored as every host, even Haruhi and Mori, threw in ideas as to what types Y/N could potentially be.
Gamer type. Musical type. Bad girl type. Trickster type. Otaku type. This is useless. Y/N thought, frowning and then sighing as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Why don't you guys actually learn more about me before coming up with such ridiculous traits." Y/N finally suggested after Honey offered 'the Sweet type'.
"Hm...Very well then! We'll spend time with you, and at the end of this week we'll come up with the perfect type for you!" Tamaki smiled widely.
That's...not what I meant.
-Ouran Academy-Friday-Day 5-
Y/N smiled softly as her and Haruhi walked out of the school building.
They had just finished their hosting duties, with Y/N being a hostess for the past two days, and having a remarkable number of boys request her.
Though, Y/N still didn't have a 'type' just yet.
Sure, the hosts did spend more time with her. Well...Maybe 'spend time' was an understatement. It felt more to Y/N like the hosts were spying on her.
"Ne, Y/N. Home is this way." Haruhi's voice brought Y/N out of her memories of catching the idiotic hosts watching her more than five times just that day.
"Huh? Oh, right. Well I'm going to where Ranka-San left my TM. I got a few new parts to help with the repair." Y/N told the brunette male, who smiled softly in understanding, and nodded.
"Alright then, I'll see you at dinner. Don't stay out too late, K?" Haruhi said, ruffling the female's (H/L) (H/C), who huffed and puffed out her cheeks in a pout.
Cute. Haruhi smiled as he watched the shorter female fix her hair quickly.
"Hai hai, I'll be there around sevenish." Y/N stated, moving a few strands of her (H/C) locks out of her face, then beginning to walk in the opposite direction of Haruhi.
___Quick Time Skip___
Y/N hummed softly as she unscrewed a panel on the back of her time machine, and she slid a pair of goggles over her head, before beginning to pull out some rusty looking parts, gently placing them beside her crouched form, before wiping her oily hands off on the jeans she had bought Tuesday and changed into once she arrived at where her time machine had been placed.
Where would that be? Well, as far as Y/N knew, it looked like the place where the TMNT lived in the sewers.
I wonder how Mr.Ranka found this place. I'll ask next time I see him. Y/N thought, smiling a bit as she stood up and then went to where she had a cardboard box filled with different tools and parts that was given to her by Ranka, or that she found.
As she dug through the box, the (H/C) female tensed up as she heard a high pitched gasp, and a bunch of hushes following.
Scowling, the female followed the noises, and as she glanced into one of the dimly lit tunnels, she couldn't help but to grin in amusement as she saw a rat perched on Tamaki's shoulders, him standing as stiff as a board as the other three tried not to freak out, Kyoya and Haruhi just looked annoyed, and Mori was as stoic as ever as they watched their king.
"Geez, what are you idiots doing here?!" Y/N snapped, placing her hands on her hips as she angrily looked at the hosts, who looked surprised since they were all so used to seeing the cheerful princess, who was now replaced by an angry monster that scared the rat off of Tamaki and it ran down the tunnel in fear.
"A-ah, well Haruhi said you'd be down here." Tamaki stuttered.
"Don't put the blame on me! They wanted to know where you had gone, and they forced me to take them to you!" Haruhi defended himself.
Y/N huffed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Out of all the times and places, I got stuck here." She grumbled, then sent the hosts an even harsher glare. "Get out." She stated.
"Eh!?" Tamaki, the twins, and Honey shouted.
"But you told us we should learn more about you!" Honey pouted.
"Stalking is different than learning, Honey-Senpai." Y/N rubbed her temples.
"Stalking is such a strong word." Hikaru said. "We prefer observing from afar." Kaoru added.
"I don't care, now get out." Y/N stated coldly, then turned around.
"How do you expect us to learn anything about you, if you aren't willing to hang out with us and there's no files on you?" Y/N paused mid-step, then sighed loudly and turned back to the hosts, glaring at Kyoya who sent her a winning smile.
"Follow me." She simply said, then turned back around and walked out of the tunnel and went back to where her time machine was.
"Woah! What's that!?" Y/N smiled a bit proudly as she stood in front of her time machine, going through the box of tools once again.
"So many butterflies." She groaned, before turning to the males, a hammer in her left hand.
"This is my time machine. I'm from the future. ...Well, technically I just came from the past, Victorian England is really nice in the winter." Y/N smiled sheepishly, once again shocking the hosts at how she once again became kind.
"Wait, time machine?! So you and Haruhi aren't related!?" Tamaki questioned.
"Not that I know of. My real name is L/N Y/N, my family invented the first time machine a couple of years from now." Y/N told them.
"That explains a lot." Kyoya muttered, tapping his chin in thought.
"So what are you doing here, N/N-chan?" Honey piped up.
"Oh. Well my time machine ran out of fuel while I was heading towards 1240, and so some wires and parts got fried. So I'm grounded here for a while." Y/N tried to explain.
"Haruhi, you knew all of this too, right?" Kyoya questioned the brunette, who sheepishly nodded.
"She's the reason I had to leave early on Monday. She just appeared in our apartment with her time machine." Haruhi explained.
"It must be fate then!" Tamaki cried out dramatically, as usual.
"Why do you think that?" Y/N curiously questioned.
"You mentioned earlier that you could have appeared anywhere and whenever-" Actually I was muttering that. "-but you ended up here! And in Haruhi's home of all places! I have no doubt that we are meant to help you Y/N!" Tamaki grinned widely.
"Hmm...I guess." Y/N said, tapping her chin. It's not like she believed in fate, in fact, she believed that anything could easily be changed and there'd be a different ending. I mean just look at the Sphinx in Egypt. (A/N: Which Y/N was defiantly not the cause of. *sweatdrops*)
"Why're you telling us all of this?" Kaoru suddenly questioned, as it had suddenly grown quiet as the others wondered if their meetings were of fate or not.
"You'd all have found out eventually. Plus, I trust you guys." Y/N smiled softly.
-Music Room #3-Monday-Day 8-
"Butterfly."
"Hmm...?" The oddly quiet hosts all turned to the couch where Mori and Honey sat, as the hosts were having a club meeting like they did every other week.
Mori then pointed to Y/N. "Butterfly type." He repeated.
Tamaki suddenly beamed and jumped up from the couch, where he had been sitting between Kyoya and Y/N. "Perfect!" He cried out.
"Why's it perfect, Tamaki-Senpai?" Y/N asked, tilting her head with a confused expression.
"Because you're as beautiful and magnificent as a Monarch butterfly! And your personality is like the wings on a Peacock butterfly, where one side is beautiful and unique and the other is scary."
"What about my personality is scary?" The hosts sweat-dropped at the question.
As everyone began to excitedly talk about the new type, Y/N locked her (E/C) orbs with Mori's, and knew the main reason he had given her that type.
After all, she's slowly stepping on every butterfly the longer she stays here.
[A/N: Ok, so the reasons why I chose your type to be butterfly is~
•Butterflies are very pretty/beautiful, just like you
•There's one butterfly, I think it's the Peacock butterfly, which wings are pretty when closed, but when they open they have an eye design to scare off predators, which is why I have your personality bipolar
•Butterflies like flowers, and the hosts each have their own rose color
•Usually seen as a metaphor in time travel, basically meaning that something in the original plot is changed because of a small, simple mistake]
