Ch.13: Her Fears Revealed
(A/N:I made a sad edit for a sad chapter.)
-Nekozawa Family Vacation Home-
A groan escaped the female's lips as her eyes repeatedly blinked open.
As soon as her vision grew accustomed to the dark, she looked around to see she was lying on a bed in a guest room. Sliding off of the bed, she opened the curtains to see the amazing view of the ocean, as well as the moonlit sky.
Recognizing where she was, she shuffled out of the bedroom, only to be blinded by the hallway lighting. She felt around as she blindly walked through the halls, only leaving the safety of the wall as soon as she could see again.
Hearing a ruckus going on in one of the rooms, she cracked it open to see the whole Host Club sitting at a dining table. Haruhi happily eating a crab leg, while Tamaki looked like he was disgusted, and the twins teasing Haruhi that he would get a stomach ache if he didn't slow down his eating.
"N/N-chan! You're up!" Honey exclaimed happily, jumping out of his chair and running over to the (H/C).
Y/N smiled and hugged Honey, yelping in surprise and the twins and Mori also pulled her into a hug. "Haha, guys, I'm alright." She laughed.
"No, you're not."
"Tamaki-Senpai?" Y/N stared at the blond as he stood up, his bangs covering his eyes. The others hesitantly let go of Y/N.
"What were you thinking? You know, you're not like Honey senpai. You're not a martial arts master. Why did you confront them?" Tamaki asked, walking towards Y/N and placing his hands firmly on her shoulders. "What made you think you would stand a chance? You against three boys?" He asked.
Y/N scowled, smacking his arms away. "Haruhi was in trouble, did you expect me to have just let him get hurt? If there had been a smarter route I would've taken it, but there was no time." She told him in a bitter tone.
"That's no excuse, you baka. Don't forget, you're a girl." Tamaki pointed out.
The air immediately grew tense, as Y/N sent Tamaki an icy cold glare.
Now he's done it. Umehito, who had been sitting in the shadows, thought.
"So what if I'm a girl? There has been numerous amounts of women who have changed the world! Are you saying that because I'm a girl that I can't take care of myself? That I can't protect those that I love!?" She shouted. "For your information, I've fought in wars and taken down men much larger than those three! I've survived two months without food and water. I've lost so many people that I could've prevented from dying, but had dismissed my offers because I'm a female! So let me tell you, for a man who can make so many girls swoon, you should not look down upon us." She sneered. Turning to the others, she forced a smile on her lips. "I apologize for ruining dinner, as for the day. I'll make sure to start working on apology letters for scaring the girls, Kyoya. Goodnight." With a quick bow, she turned and left the room.

"Stupid. Pretty-boy. Snob. Hipocrite." Y/N hissed out all the bad words she could think of, the image of Tamaki in her mind as she punched the bag in the small gym she had found.
"Something tells me you're not going to apologize." A voice chuckled.
Y/N turned to see the Host Club -minus Tamaki, Haruhi, and Kyoya-, as well as Nekozawa.
"Why should I be the one to apologize?" Y/N scoffed, turning away from the group and punching the bag once more.
"Y/N." The female huffed as the owner of the voice, Nekozawa, grabbed her wrist. "You're bleeding." He stated, staring at her through dark bangs.
Y/N stared at her ungloved hands, looking at the blood that covered her knuckles. She let the blue eyed male lead her to a chair, where Mori had a roll of gauze, which he began to wrap around her hand.
"Well it's not something we usually meddle with." The twins spoke in usual unison. "It's cool to be fearless and have a sense of justice, but..." Kaoru drifted off. "But don't you think you should apologize for your reckless behavior today?" Hikaru finished.
"I did apologize though." Y/N huffed, wiggling her fingers.
"You didn't apologize to Tama-chan though!" Honey told her.
"Of course not! He was being rude!" Y/N stated.
"You were being rude right back." Umehito told her, his tone scolding.
Y/N puffed out her cheeks into a childish pout and turned away from the group.
"All of us were really worried, N/N." Mori told the (H/C).
"I'm...sorry. You guys are right. I shouldn't be acting so selfish." Y/N sighed and stood up. "Which room is he in?" She asked, looking at Umehito.
"The Black room*." The Dark Magic Club president grinned.
Nodding in understandment, the female quickly walked out of the workout room and into the long hallway.
Taking long strides, she paused in front of the Black Room, only taking a nervous breath once she had knocked on the door. Y/N released the breath as Kyoya was the one to open the door.
"You're not Tamaki-Senpai." She pointed out the clear obviousness, as the shirtless onyx eyed male dried his recently showered hair with the towel wrapped around his neck.
"You sound disappointed." The youngest Ootori scoffed, glaring at Y/N which caused her to realize he wasn't wearing his glasses.
"Gomen." Y/N sighed, not sounding sorry at all. "I heard this was that idiots room and I came to apologize for what I had said and done earlier today." She explained.
"We switched rooms, he said that the clock was too terrifying. He's in the Blue room now." Kyoya told her. "Do you mind coming in for a second? I have something I wish to discuss with you." Before Y/N could respond, Kyoya had already turned his back to her and walked into the room. Giving the (H/C) no choice but to follow.
Huffing, Y/N walked into the room, closing the door behind her before gazing at her new surroundings. The room matched it's name for sure. Everything in the room was black, except for the red stain glass windows, and the large brown clock.
Creepy. She thought, though tried her best not to show her thoughts.
"You didn't eat dinner, do you want some tea I had a servant bring in?" Kyoya offered, standing at a black coffee table as he poured his own cup of tea.
"Since you offered. Three sugars." Y/N agreed, sitting on one of the two black love seats near the fireplace.
"I know." Kyoya replied calmly.
Y/N eyed the vice-president curiously. Watching how he moved to prepare the two cups, as uncreepy as that could sound. "Where are your glasses?" She asked.
"I think I lost them on the beach, during your little fiasco." Kyoya smoothly answered, carrying the two saucers and handing her one, before sitting in the other with his own.
"Speaking of which, what happened after I fell? I unawesomely blacked out before I hit the water." Y/N explained to him, taking a sip of the warm liquid, which just caused her to realize she had been really hungry.
"We took their ID cards and respectfully asked them to leave. The girls all went back to the hotel and I called a doctor." Kyoya told her. "And that's one of the reasons I brought you in here."
Y/N tensed, before sighing as she placed her cup on the saucer. "So you know, then? Do the others?" She asked, voice tense.
"No. There must've been a good reason you hid it from us."
Y/N stared at him, before a sigh left her lips. "Thank you." She said.
"Now for the other thing I wanted to discuss. What you had said to Tamaki." Kyoya stared at the female's physical reaction, though gained nothing from it. "You've been in wars?"
Y/N nodded. "Plenty of them, of course hiding my gender in most. What a patriarchal society." Kyoya snorted at the cold statement.
"And the not eating or drinking?" He asked.
"I ran out of supplies on my trip across the Pacific. Someone stole my time machine in the Victorian era*, but that's too long of a story to explain." Y/N shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly.
"I'd love to hear it one day." Kyoya grinned. Honestly, he'd like to hear all of her stories. He only knew so little about Y/N, and that was what she told them. She never let anything slip.
Kyoya, who could often read anybody like an open book, had learned that Y/N's pages were locked away in some sort of chest with no way of opening it. And when she pretended she had no clue what she was telling, he knew that it was on purpose. Like she planned her mistakes. "And the ones who wouldn't let you protect them?"
Aha! A reaction! Y/N had put her now empty saucer on the table between the two seats, shoulders tense.
"That would be a long list. Not everyone is willing to accept help, even if that person could save their lives." She stated, voice cracking towards the end, as she smiled bitterly at the floorboards.
"What do you mean by that?" Kyoya, perplexed, asked.
Y/N gaze wandered to the fire, the smile on her lips melting like ice and leaving nothing behind but a blank expression. "It's such a cliché story." She bitterly laughed, Kyoya took note of how the fire reflected and danced within her (E/C) colored eyes. "A time traveler loses her way and meets a group that were destined to change the world. One by one, each member dies. And the time traveler cries for her losses. Until one day, she realizes that she was once again alone. There was no one for her in that time anymore, and she once again went along with the job she had been hired for in the first place. She kept up a fake smile, and she kept all of the ones she had met at a distance. For she knew that it's best to lose what you've never had, than to lose what you've cherished the most." The bluntness in her tone shocked Kyoya, and it was this moment he wished he had that blasted notebook in his hands. "Ah! Listen to me droning on like that! Please ignore what I just said!" Smiling nervously, Y/N waved her hand back and forth quickly.
The (H/C) then stood up with her usual childish grin. "It's just a child's tale from where I come from, to scare misbehaving children that something bad will happen if they do something wrong. That's why I don't do any of the things the twins try to talk me into." She shrugged, causing Kyoya to groan and slump in his seat.
Had he really thought she was going to open up to him so easily?
Y/N giggled at his reaction. "You said Tamaki-Senpai is in the Blue room? I better go see him before he falls asleep, thanks for the tea, Kyo~" she teased, before skipping out of the room.
Once the door closed behind her, both let out a sigh of relief.
Kyoya slowly pulled out a pair of broken glasses* from his pocket, while Y/N placed her hand over her heart as it began to burn.
Little did she know that he had lied to her. Little did he know she had told him the truth.
-Y/N's POV-
I hummed a soft tune to keep the eerily quiet halls from messing with my sanity. Honestly, how can Neko-kun stand this type of environment?!
Mindlessly, playing with the charm on my necklace as I walked to the Blus Room, I jumped in surprise at the sound of thunder and a streak of lightning that flashed behind the burgandy curtains.
Hearing a commotion from the direction I was heading towards, I quickened my pace to see the Host Club surrounding the entrance of the Blue Room.
I deadpanned at the sight of a flustered Tamaki-Senpai and a blindfolded Haruhi. What the hell did I miss?!
"I never would've pegged the boss as an S&M pervert." Kaoru stated, a smirk on his and Hikaru's lips.
"I told you, it wasn't like that at all!" Flustered Tamaki explained.
"I see." Haruhi sighed as he took the blindfold off of his eyes. "Well now I know what S&M is. I can't believe I almost let you get away with it." He stated, glaring at Tamaki.
"I wasn't doing anything freaky. I was trying to help you!" Tamaki cried.
"And to think I was going to apologize to a pervert like you." I scoffed, grabbing Haruhi's hand and helping the male stand up, before pulling him out. The others following close behind.
"No little sister! Don't leave without me!" Tamaki cried.
I'll apologize to the dumb blond tomorrow. After I'm done teasing him with the twins.
(Black room: I stole the idea from Poe's short story 'Red Death'.
Broken glasses: I love the Live Action version where Kyoya saved Haruhi instead of Tamaki. Even though it didn't happen in the anime or manga, I found it so romantic.
Victorian era: I was thinking of creating a one shot type of story for all of Y/N's time traveling adventures. What do you guys think?)
