Seventeen. Off

Once the movie was over, the applause had started up again. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, Jude and Gio claiming their roles as "Punisher's biggest fans." They mingled with the cast and crew for a while before leaving the place and heading to a restaurant for their own little after party. It was only Nevaeh, Jude, Sokena, and Gio — just how they wanted it. Besides, Nevaeh and Sokena had a whole-cast dinner to attend to the next night. Why not spend their time with their boyfriends while they could?

     "You did amazing," Jude complimented for what felt like the thirtieth time that night. He kept telling Nevaeh and Sokena about how jawdropping and real their performance felt.

     "Yeah, I can't believe Kiki didn't die, I thought she would," Gio laughed, taking a bite out of his meal. His girlfriend lightly pushed him with a smile.

     "I don't know, I thought Nevaeh was," Jude told the group.

     "Is it because I'm black?" Nevaeh looked over at her boyfriend, a 'be careful' look on her face.

     He chuckled saying, "I'm black, too, Vaeh."

     "Your white side is showing."

     "Anyway," Sokena sighed. "I thought the movie was good. It was a little nerve-wrecking to see me on the screen, though. I wonder if I look that hot all the time."

     Gio gave her a knowing look saying, "Trust me, you do."

     "Get a room," Nevaeh made a fake gagging noise, pointing her finger at her mouth. Jude smiled at his girlfriend's antics from across the table.

     "Wait 'till you find out what Jude says about you," Gio rolled his eyes, looking over at his best friend. Jude could feel his face getting hot as he gave Gio a pleading face as if to silently say, "Don't tell her."

     "What do you say, Jude?" Nevaeh sat up, putting her arm on the table and resting her chin on her palm. He looked embarrassed and kept quiet, hoping that she'd let it go. He clearly didn't know his girlfriend, because she wasn't going to.

     "Nothing," he cleared his throat, looking around as if anyone was going to help him.

"Gio, what does he say?"

"He says a lot. I remember this one time we were talking and he's just scrolling through his phone and out loud he goes, 'Wow, Nevaeh is so hot.' And then he realized he had said it and that I heard him, so he looks up and goes. 'You did not hear that.' Then he looks at his phone again and starts giggling like a little schoolgirl," Gio recalled, laughing at his friend. "I love you, mate, but you are so down bad."

"No shame about it," Jude shrugged, trying to play it off smoothly. He tried to ignore the fact that Nevaeh was uncontrollably smiling and staring at him.

"Neve says worse," Sokena added, looking at the couple.

Nevaeh sank back, her smile completely fading as she felt her face heat up with embarrassment. Jude suddenly looked intrigued and asked, "Like what?"

"Oh, it's nothing, we should just wait for our food," Nevaeh awkwardly laughed, doing the same Jude had done and looking around.

"One time she said, 'Gosh, I can't wait to have kids with this man' when she saw an edit of you on TikTok," Sokena laughed.

Nevaeh looked down as blush crept onto her face, hoping Jude wouldn't make such a big deal out of it.

"You wanna have kids with me?" Jude smiled. He found the thought cute and could see it happening in the future one day. He loved her a lot, and knowing that she had also seen a future with him meant the world to him. There was no getting over this girl, he was in far too deep.

"Eventually, yeah, like I'm not against the idea of it," Vaeh shrugged, looking over at him with a smile. "I've always wanted kids, but, I guess the right man hasn't come along yet."

"Wow, okay," Gio scoffed, acting as if he was offended. The table laughed at his joke. "Jude do you even want kids?"

"Yeah, I'll be like Foden and balance out football and fatherhood. Can't be too hard to do both, I'm a good multitasker," Jude responded. A future with Nevaeh was all he wanted. She wasn't like any other girl he had met. She was different. She had her mind made up and knew exactly what she wanted. Instead of running away, she told him how she felt in certain situations. She actually supported his dreams and cared for him instead of using him for his money and status. She was just perfect.

"That's cute," Sokena beamed. She loved seeing her friend happy with her boyfriend. She thought they were a match made in Heaven.

"It is," a smile overtook Nevaeh as well, as she looked over at Jude.

Giving Kiki and Gio the night to themselves, Jude brought Nevaeh back to his hotel. Gio and Sokena had dropped the couple off, biding them a good night and promising to see them the next day. It was eleven at night when the two reached the hotel. Nevaeh had complained about her feet 'killing her,' so Jude offered to carry her heels on the way up. She gave him another smile, planting a kiss on his cheek. Up the elevator, the short ride was silent. Unspoken words that neither had the courage to say remained on their tongues, waiting to be said.

     Once inside of the actual room, Jude put her shoes down neatly inside of the closet that sat towards the front door. Nevaeh walked over to the bed, sitting as she put her purse on the floor next to her. She stared at Jude as he took his jacket off, setting it to the side. He looked back at her, noticing her chocolate-colored eyes glued to him.

     "You look so pretty in that dress," Jude beamed, looking at his girlfriend. He loved giving Nevaeh compliments as much as she loved receiving them.

     With feelings of lust and desire laced on her voice, she replied, "Why don't you come take it off?"

     Daringly, Jude crossed his arms and asked, "And what if I do?"

     "Come find out."

     Jude didn't need to be told twice. He walker over to his girlfriend just as she stood up, snaking an arm around her waist and the other on her back. She had both of her hands on his face, kissing him deep and passionately. He was addicted— couldn't get enough of her. He wanted more. They ended up on the bed, Jude on top of her, continuing what they had started. She could taste his cherry chapstick and the hunger took over. She was craving him, burning for him. She needed him. With her arms around his neck, she ended the long-lasting kiss so the two could breathe normally.

     "May I?" His eyes were filled with yearning and lust as he looked down at her, tugging at the dress she had dared him to remove.

     "You may."
