Third Person POV

Both Kao and Cooheart knew by the look on Mrs. Namwirote's face that she was thinking the worst about them.

"I think it's time for me to go back to my folding bed in the hallway," Cooheart said, gathering his robe together and using the sash attached to it to close its front.

"Are you sure?" Kao asked, trying not to make himself sound like he was pleading desperately to Cooheart to stay.

"Yes, I'm sure," Cooheart replied, "I am well enough now to be on my own. The folding bed has a soft thick cushion so I'm sure I will be comfortable."

Kao looked on helplessly as Cooheart gathered his blanket and pillows and pajamas and walked out of the room. He had been so looking forward to sleeping beside Cooheart tonight.

After Cooheart left, Kao made his way to the dining room.

Although the dinner that Rose cooked was delicious, Kao hardly touched the baked potato over which Rose had generously applied sour cream and chives. He could only manage a few slices of the roast beef before he hastily gulped his cranberry juice.

He apologized to Rose for not doing justice to her fabulous cooking. He promised to do better next time.

After his evening rituals, Kao stepped into the shower and let the water that was spraying on his face, mingle with his tears. He kept telling himself that it was no use hoping that Cooheart would ever feel the same way for him. Cooheart's feelings were reserved for Title, his childhood sweetheart. How could he even think that he had any chances against Title.

After his shower, Kao quickly dried himself and wrapped his towel around his waist and headed back for his room. Along the way he saw the sleeping Cooheart on his folding bed, clutching Chloe, his koala bear.

Kao could not resist walking up close to the folding bed and peering into Cooheart's face in the dimly lighted hallway.

"What?"

Once more, just like before, Kao quickly spun around to move away but lost his footing and landed hard on the floor with a loud thud.

"Oww, oww," Kao was trying to say softly but of course Cooheart heard him.

Cooheart got up from his bed and approached Kao who was still on the floor gently rubbing his behind.

"Are you okay?" Cooheart asked.

"Do I look like I'm okay to you?" Kao couldn't help feeling sulky that Cooheart had opted to leave his bed tonight.

"Here let me massage you where it hurts," Cooheart said, already softly rubbing Kao's bottom in a circular motion.

Kao grabbed Cooheart's wrist.

"I can't stay on the floor while you're trying to make it better," Kao said, "wouldn't it best that you do it while I'm lying on my tummy inside the room?"

Cooheart sighed. Why was Kao acting like a baby?

Cooheart stood up from his crouching position and followed Kao to his room. Once they were inside the room, Cooheart took matters into his own hands.

He unhitched the end of Kao's towel and tossed the towel to the floor.

Kao wasn't able to react right away. He just stood in front of Cooheart in all his manly glory, his brain still unable to process what Cooheart just did.

"What are you doing to me, Cooheart?" he finally asked after a stunned silence, his heart racing wildly against his chest.

"You have been wanting to do this since you got back from university this evening, right?" Cooheart asked as he moved one foot closer and reached behind Kao's neck, pulling his face down to his.

Kao didn't need a second bidding.

Once more Kao and Cooheart kissed hungrily, holding each other as if they would never let go.

"What made you change your mind?" Kao asked after they broke apart to take in some much needed air.

"While you were at university, Title and I had a long talk," Cooheart began.

'Title. Title. Title. Here we go again.' Kao was talking to himself.

"And after our long talk, we both came to the conclusion that what we thought was a romantic kind of love for each other was actually just a brotherly and possessive kind of love. We didn't want other people to come between our affection for each other. But then Kaownah came along..."

"Kaownah???" Kao had to interrupt Cooheart.

"Yes, Kaownah. You have a problem with that?" Cooheart asked, noting the look of surprise on Kao's face.

"N...nothing, nothing, keep going."

"...and he confessed to me that he was feeling something for Kaownah, so I confessed to him that I was feeling something for you," Cooheart said, starting to ask himself if it had been wise to confess to Kao, since Kao had never once said to him that he felt anything for him.

When Kao just stood where he was, staring at Cooheart, Cooheart made a dash for the door to hide the tears that were starting to well up in his eyes.

Kao grabbed Cooheart just as Cooheart's hand touched the doorknob.

"Oh no, my dear Cooheart, you're not going anywhere tonight," Kao whispered in his ear, "you're sleeping with me tonight, except that we won't really be sleeping."

"No, you're not touching me again, if it's only me whose emotions are involved," Cooheart said, turning away and grabbing the doorknob once more.

Kao grabbed him quickly before he could turn the doorknob.

"I do believe that when you got into that car accident, your vision got impaired, because all this time that I was trying to show you how I felt about you, the only thing coming out of your mouth was Title, Title, Title. I thought I never stood a chance with you. I was ready to move out and find another place to stay because I couldn't stand living so closely with someone I loved who did not reciprocate my feelings."

Cooheart searched Kao's face to make sure that he had been talking sincerely. Then he moved up close to Kao once more.

"We have wasted so much time," Cooheart whispered as he took Kao's hand and led him towards the bed.
