Third Person POV
Sunday morning came and for the third morning in a row, Cooheart woke up without Kao by his side. He must have early morning classes daily, but even on a Sunday?
What Cooheart didn't know was that Kao had left early to go to his home city to pick up his car from his house. Even if he wasn't going to use it to bring himself to university, Kao realized that it would be more convenient to have a car for when he wanted to go to the mall or to any other places in the city.
Cooheart decided to have an early breakfast because he was expecting his physical therapist to come at nine o'clock. He had been advised by his mom to take a pain pill after breakfast as a preventive for anticipated discomfort during his therapy exercises.
At nine on the dot, the door buzzed and Rose went to open the door.
"Hi, I'm Singto, I'm the physical therapist for Earth Katsamonat," said the guy at the door.
Rose just stood staring at him. Cue the soft music. Cue the breeze softly blowing the tendrils of her hair against her cheeks.
"May I come in, please?" And then cue the harsh, earsplitting, scratchy music bringing Rose back to earth.
"Of... of course," Rose said, stepping aside to let the physical therapist in.
Rose led him to the living room.
"Please make yourself comfortable on the couch while I go to get my young master," Rose said, patting her hair in place and giving Singto one last longing look before going to knock on Cooheart's room.
"The physical therapist is here to see you," Rose announced breathlessly to Cooheart.
"Thank you, Rose. Please tell him I'll be out in a minute," said Cooheart, sitting up from bed and slowly getting on his feet.
He was still feeling a bit drowsy as a side effect of the pain pill that he had taken an hour earlier.
Singto stood up from the couch when he saw Cooheart walking into the living room.
Just like Rose, Cooheart stared at his physical therapist. One more time, let's cue the soft music. Cue the soft heavenly breeze blowing away a few tendrils hanging on Cooheart's forehead.
Singto held out his hand.
"I'm Singto, your physical therapist."
Cue the harsh and scratchy music and Cooheart finds himself back in his living room, hastily taking Singto's outstretched hand.
"I'm pleased to meet you," Cooheart said, giving Singto a shy but flirty smile.
"Shall we first sit down and discuss your therapy program?" Singto asked.
"Of course, of course," Cooheart said, motioning to the couch, while he sat himself on the chair adjacent to the couch.
"So... based on your hospital records, you had been through a car accident and you suffered multiple minor injuries, the only major one being on your left shoulder, although you do have a recurring pain on your left knee as well," Singto began the discussion.
"I will be giving you general physical therapy but I will be focusing on exercises to help heal your left shoulder and left knee," Singto continued.
Cooheart just kept nodding wordlessly, his eyes never leaving Singto's face, especially the sensuous lower lip.
When the discussion was finished, Singto asked Cooheart which area of the house he felt comfortable performing the exercises.
Cooheart said that the living room looked spacious enough for the exercises.
"Very well then," Singto said, helping Cooheart stand up from his chair.
"Let's start with the pendulum stretch," Singto said, guiding Cooheart to the back of the chair.
He instructed Cooheart to place his weight on the top of the backrest of the chair with his right hand while bending forward and letting his left arm dangle freely and then to swing it back and forth like a pendulum.
He made Cooheart do several sets of this exercise before moving on to the next one.
In the meantime, Kao's parents were happy to see him come home, even if they knew that he was only there to pick up his car.
Kao's parents asked him how he was adjusting to his new environment and Kao told them that he was doing fine.
Kao's dad advised him once more not to mix alcohol with his studies and to stay away from trouble.
"Are you eating well at your new place? Does the landlady treat you well?" Kao's mom wanted to know.
"I have no complaints about the food," Kao replied, "and the landlady treats me like her own son."
Kao's mom was satisfied with that answer. She probably would have been very concerned if she found out that Kao was nursing a broken heart and that the cause of his bruised heart was his landlady's son who was currently sleeping every night right beside him on his own bed. But of course, Kao made sure to leave out that one important detail.
"Are you sure that you won't stay for lunch?" Kao's mom asked, her voice sounding almost whiny.
"I would love to, but I hate getting caught in the Sunday afternoon rush hour traffic in the freeway," Kao replied.
What he didn't tell his mom was that he couldn't wait to see Cooheart again.
Back in Cooheart's house, Singto had finished showing all the seven possible exercises to heal Cooheart's left shoulder.
He gave Cooheart some time to rest before they were to proceed with the knee exercises.
Rose offered Cooheart and Singto a glass of cold pineapple juice each while they were having their rest period.
Singto asked Cooheart a few personal questions taking care not to ask any intrusive ones. He just wanted to have a friendly chat while he was giving Cooheart his interval between exercises.
Singto looked at his watch after both he and Cooheart finished their drinks.
"Let's start out with your knee exercises now," Singto suggested.
Singto pulled out his exercise mat from his duffel bag and spread it out on the floor of the living room.
He helped Cooheart to slowly lie down on the exercise mat. Then Singto knelt in front of Cooheart, straddling himself between Cooheart's left leg, while slowly pushing the left affected leg up, bending it, with the foot remaining flat on the floor.
In the meantime, Kao had reached his boarding house and had happily parked his car on the spacious driveway beside Mrs. Namwirote's car.
He was happy and excited to be more mobile around the city now that he had his own car to drive and not have to depend on the city buses anymore.
Kao took out his duplicate front door key from his pocket and pushed it into the keyhole and then turned the knob and slowly opened the door.
Without changing position, Singto turned his face around to see who had just come in through the front door.
"Just how many more boyfriends am I going to see with you apart from Nicky and Title?" Kao couldn't help asking Cooheart, distaste very much evident on his face.
