Third Person POV

"Th...thanks," Kao murmured, moving away from Kaownah's embrace, "we can cross safely now."

"Don't give me a fright like that again," Kaownah scolded Kao as they stepped down from the curb and crossed to the other side of the wide avenue.

"You wanna meet me at the cafeteria for lunch?" Kaownah asked just before he and Kao parted ways under the covered walkway.

"Why should I?" Kao said, and then realizing that it sounded a bit rude he hastened to say, "I mean aren't you gonna be having lunch with your own classmates?"

Kao noticed Kaownah's cheeks turning pink.

"It's okay if you don't wanna have lunch with me," said Kaownah before turning away and walking in the opposite direction.

Kao started to feel guilty.

On impulse he called out, "Hey!"

Kaownah stopped in his tracks and slowly turned around.

"Meet you at the cafeteria for lunch," said Kao and quickly started walking towards the building where his classroom was located.

Meanwhile back at home, Cooheart rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand as he slowly woke up from his sleep.

He felt disoriented at first. He was no longer in his hospital bed. He was in his own bed at home.

But wait, he wasn't supposed to be sleeping in his own bed. His mom had rented out his room to Kao. Speaking of which, Cooheart turned his head. The space beside him was empty. Where did Kao go?

Then Cooheart remembered that Kao was a student. He had probably gone to school or was still at home eating breakfast.

Cooheart slowly sat up and was about to get out of bed when his phone started to ring. The ringtone told him that it was Title calling.

Cooheart almost panicked. It was a good thing that Title was not making a video call. He won't know that he was inside Kao's room, lying on Kao's bed.

Cooheart swiped the screen.

"Hello," Cooheart said, a little breathlessly.

"Cooheart," Title said. He sounded breathless as well.

"How are you doing? Are you getting discharged soon?" Cooheart asked.

"I'm getting discharged today," Title informed him.

"I wish I was strong enough to go and help you get home," Cooheart said.

"Don't worry about it," Title assured Cooheart, "my mom is coming over later at noontime to sign the discharge papers and bring me home."

"How are you feeling?" Cooheart asked, "are you feeling any pain from your injuries?"

"Not right now," Title replied, "I was given a prescription pain pill an hour ago."

"That reminds me, I should be taking my own pain pill after breakfast before the pain sets in," Cooheart said.

"I will leave you to eat your breakfast," Title said, "I will call you later once I get home."

"Yes, please do that," said Cooheart.

"Ok, talk to you later, love you," said Title.

Cooheart almost dropped his phone. He tried to say something but the screen indicated that Title had ended the call.

Cooheart slowly made his way to the dining room. He held on to whatever he could hold on along the way to the dining room to help him keep his balance because his legs still felt a little weak.

When Rose saw her young master walk into the dining room, she quickly walked over to him and supported his weight and helped him sit on his chair.

"Thank you, Rose," said Cooheart as he sat and waited for Rose to serve his breakfast.

Cooheart tried to focus on the food that Rose laid out for him, but his mind kept going back to how Title ended his call.

Did Title really mean what he said, or was it just an automatic absentminded way of ending a call on Title's part.

Cooheart was so distracted throughout breakfast that he did not realize that he had been eating alone. Where was his mom.

"Rose," Cooheart called out.

Rose had been loading the dishwasher but walked back into the dining room when she heard her young master calling her.

"Where is mom?" asked Cooheart.

"She's at the dormitory posting reminders on the individual doors because next week she will be collecting the rental fees," Rose replied.

"Oh, okay," said Cooheart, suddenly feeling guilty because he had promised his mom that while he was waiting for the next semester to start he would help his mom to run the dormitory business. If he had not been in the car accident, he would have been the one posting the reminders right now.

Cooheart took his pain pill after breakfast and with Rose's help, walked back to Kao's room.

He had just settled in bed when he heard a brief knock and then his mom walked into the room.

"How are you feeling, son?" Mrs. Namwirote asked Cooheart, studying his face closely to see if he was grimacing.

"I'm alright, mom, I just finished taking my pain pill," Cooheart replied

"Title's mom called me to let me know that he is getting discharged at noontime today," Mrs. Namwirote said, studying Cooheart's reaction closely.

"I know, Title called me earlier before breakfast," Cooheart said.

"His mom said that he couldn't wait to see you again," Mrs. Namwirote said, her eyes still fixed on her son. She was trying to find out without asking her son directly if her son felt something for Title. Title's mom had dropped hints during their conversation that Title was more than just missing Cooheart.

"I can't wait to see him myself," Cooheart replied, "the moment I feel well enough to go and see him at his house, I will."

"I bet Mrs. Puangmalee will be overjoyed to see you," Mrs. Namwirote said under her breath.

"What did you say, mom?" Cooheart asked, straining his ears to hear what his mom was muttering.

"Nothing, son," Mrs. Namwirote replied, "take a nap, rest well. Let's hope that you recover completely and speedily."

For some reason, Mrs. Namwirote found herself worrying over her son. Was Title the right partner for her son?
