Three Words
Beloved visitor unexpected!
Sultry summer afternoon's jubilance;
Shower towel turbaning my wet head,
At my doorstep, he stood in luminance.
.
We sipped our iced tea, sweet and lemony;
In the back porch breeze, I combed out my hair.
I have missed him so, wondered did he me.
How elated was I to have him there.
.
Little curve of a smile, softly rests his eye;
He spoke but three words, whole worlds meant to me.
Views me anew, not another goodbye,
When the sum of he and me equals we.
.
There is more to us than just being friends;
"Hair drying nice;" three words all his love sends.
