Chapter 1: A New Arrival
So yeah, I love Code Geass so I don't need to justify this. Any, you Reader, were originally part of a family of knights who's duty it was to protect the royal family of Britannia, and as a child you were raised side by side with Lelouch to one day be his most trusted ally. However, after the exile of your ward and Nunally, the emperor order the execution of your family and only by the good graces of a guard loyal to your father are you able to escape. 7 years of roaming the world later, you arrive in Japan under the guise of a transfer student in order to join the Black Knights in your custom Knightmare in order to kill Charles Vi Britannia in order to avenge your family's murder. However, how complicated will things become when you find yourself classmates with not only the white knight, but your old friend. I will handle the Knightmare and if you find it unrealistic for this world, well I'm taking creative liberty.
I own nothing. I hope you enjoy. Read, comment, and review. I will be taking requests and ideas from the comment section.
Prologue: Cultivation of Vengeance
You looked on at the rising sun as you exited the boat that had transported you to this disgraced area. Disgust and spite boiled in your blood as you noticed the small details of homeless Japanese (you had enough respect to call them by their proper name and not that wretched number) people being terrorized by the Britannians, yet you kept your emotions in check since you couldn't risk being exposed.
Your father always said "a knight must maintain composure and discipline when dealing with injustice. We must move as machines and deal with it as those above them command,"
There was once a time when you couldn't agree more with your idol, but that time was long over. You had seen first hand what loyalty to the Britannian crown earned, and you refused to be a pawn to a bastard like the emperor. Retribution would be your new master and it would guide you down the dark path destined for you. Your thoughts then returned to Calvin, your protecter for the last 7 years. He didn't want this path for you and tried desperately to convince you otherwise.
(Flashback)
"(Y/N), please, I beg you. Reconsider!"
"I've made up my mind Calvin. I'm through running and hiding like vermin in the night. If I am to die, I'll die like my ancestors before me: like a warrior," The old guard sighed, knowing full well how stubborn Avalon's were, something they had been famous for.
"Your father wouldn't have wanted this for you," you smashed your hand against the metal table.
"My father is gone! Our family's loyalty to the royal family, generations of service, countless victories, paid back in betrayal and our own blood. I will never forget, nor could I forgive. This is the only road I will take,"
Calvin stood up and placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder, calming you instantly. Even before your family's execution, he had been a second father to you.
"If this is what you have chosen, I won't stop you, but I won't let go alone either," you smiled at him.
"Thank you old friend, but I owe you too much to ask you to come with me. If one of us is to survive the flames, I would hope it be you," he gave a gruff laugh.
"A young, fiery knight would do better in this world than a battle worn guard," he hugged you then. "Are you sure about this?"
"I've already had the papers to Ashford verified. My ship leaves soon,"
"Be safe then. I'll send the Regulas as soon as it's ready," you took a step back.
"Regulas?! But you said.."
"Your father was weary even before he asked for a council with the emperor, so he asked me to hide it. I told you it was destroyed so you wouldn't go charging off when you got older. Our allies have been continuously modifying it so it could tackle even foes like the white knight,"
"And is it true what my father said about form changes?"
"Indeed. I don't know how he did it though. Your mother was a brilliant designer,"
"Yes, she was. And who exactly are our 'allies'?"
"If the Black Knights accept you, you'll know in due time," you grabbed your suitcase and headed out and towards an unfamiliar world.
"I have to go now. Thank you for everything Calvin, I will repay you someday," as you began walking through the door, his gruff voice halted you.
"You want to repay me?" You nodded. He smirk. "Then make sure the last thing that bastard ever hears is a lion's roar," it was your turn to smirk.
"Gladly,"
(End Flashback)
Your cellphone began to ring and was quickly answered.
"Ni hao Calvin,"
"You should know better than to talk in Chinese (Y/N). People will get suspicious,"
"That's the beauty of an area at war: everyone is suspicious of everyone one. I'm just one face in a crowd of millions,"
"Don't get cocky. If anyone found out about your identity..."
"Few people know about the Avalon family's demise. As far as anyone is concern, we're still heroes who died avenging Empress Marianne,"
"Word would eventually reach the Emperor's ears. You should've changed your name,"
"I'll be fine. What's the status on the Regulas?"
"It'll be there in 2 days. If you want to join the Black Knights, make sure you show off those ace pilot skills of yours," you smirked.
"Don't worry, I don't plan on containing my rage any longer. If all goes well, I'll see you eventually. Bye,"
"Be safe," the line disconnected as you began your journey to your new secret life, unaware of the surprises awaiting you there.
"Alright, Ashford academy, here I come," you blushed as you struggled to keep your skirt down in the wind.
"Why do they always choose short skirts for the girls uniform?!"
Chapter 1: A Familiar Face
Lelouch had been cleaning out his room, trying to clear his head of the Nagita battle. While in some manners it had been a success in showcasing the Black Knight's power, he somewhat regretted Shirley's father being lost in crossfire...somewhat. He couldn't afford to dwell on the consequences, especially with CC's insults being fired left and right. He had come too far to go back, especially with Kyoto now as his allies. He had to harden his heart in order to achieve his true goals. Speaking of CC, the green haired woman was on the bed, currently playing with two golden cuff-lets (those little stylized metal pieces that keep a suits sleeves together).
"Exactly what is your connection to these little pieces of scrape gold?" Lelouch turned and saw what she was holding and wasted no time snatching them harshly from her hands. A furiously look adorned his face.
"Never touch these again!" She gave her usual uninterested look, though a spark of curiosity ran through her eyes.
"Don't think I haven't noticed. You carry those little trinkets everywhere. Your sister also took as a valid excuse to chase after that cat,"
(Flashback-there will be plenty in the first few chapters)
As Suzaku presented the stupid cat to the student council, Lelouch stayed behind, scrambling to try and come up with a valid excuse as to why he was so desperate to capture it. He stuffed his hands into his pockets until a familiar feeling of metal poked his finger. Removing the items, he saw the cuff-lets, his last material connection to Britannia. He grinned.
"Looks like you're saving me again old friend,"
He walked outside and showed off the items to the council. Mille pouted.
"Darn, I thought after all this time I finally had some dirt on you. Such a disappointment,"
"What exactly are those Lulu?" Shirley asked.
"What are what?" Nunally followed. He smiled and placed them in her small hand, allowing her to recognize the feeling of them. She gave a knowing smile.
"Now I understand why you were so determined. I can't believe you still have these!"
"Well they mean a lot to me," and for once, he wasn't lying.
(End Flashback)
"So what exactly is the importance?" He looked away.
"...they're gifts, from an old friend,"
"An old friend? Suzaku?"
"No. It was a girl I grew up with, she was my best friend and my personal knight,"
"A knight of Britannia. How scandalous. I thought you were above that kind of relationship with anyone so close to the royal family,"
"She saved my life, and I think she might've lost her's the process. I owe her this much,"
"You think she's dead,"
"She took a bullet in the back for me. Not many adults could survive that, let alone a girl not even finished growing,"
"I see, exactly what would you do if this friend turned out to be alive and appeared on the other side of the battlefield?"
"There is no question, all enemies must be destroyed,"
He left the room, no longer wanting to contemplate the idea of fighting the girl who used to play tag with him and weave flower crowns for his sister. He knew he could never bring himself to kill her, so instead he prayed she had died so he wouldn't have to face the shame. He sighed and allowed himself to lean out the window a bit.
"I hate to admit, but I do miss you (Y/N),"
(Next Day)
Lelouch sat next to Suzaku the next morning in home room, the two discussing student council matters and the fact that Mille was a slave driver. The teacher eventually came in.
"Settle down! Now, I would like to introduce a new exchange student. Please come in and introduce yourself," Lelouch read his book, uninterested in the matter.
"Yes of course,"
His heart suddenly stopped. That voice, it was a bit deeper now, more developed, but it was definitely a voice he knew. As he raised his head, his violet eyes clashed with (E/C) ones and he struggled to hide a face of recognition and surprise.
"My name is (Y/N) Avalon. It's a pleasure to meet you all and I hope we can get along,"
