This is very much like My Pride, but take away all the gods and goddesses stuff.

Lemme break it down from the start.

Male cubs grow up in prides (mostly run by their father), and grow up there until they grow a bit of their mane. That is usually the time when they either challenge the current leader, or stay in and help out, becoming a hunter. If they challenge the current leader and lose, they then are exiled from the pride, and are called a No-Mane, meaning that they are a leader of no pride. When they find a pride they feel that they are fit to lead, they challenge the current leader, or Mane of that pack. They fight until one of them dies or backs down. If the No-Mane wins, he becomes the leader, earning the rank of Mane, meaning he is the leader of the pride. When No-Manes become Manes, they add Mane to the suffix of their current name (Example: Spark becomes Sparkmane). If the No-Mane loses, they must leave that territory, unless they want to challenge them again.

Huntresses and Hunters are the lions and lionesses of the pride. Their job is to make sure that the pride has enough food, water, shelter, and protection. The leader of the huntresses and hunters is called a Hunt-Chief. The Hunt-Chief can be a lion or a lioness. Their job is to direct the pride if the Mane is busy, or unable to. If the Mane dies of unfortunate causes, such as starvation or injury, then, if the Hunt-Chief is a male, then they become the next Mane, or leader. If the Hunt-Chief is a lioness, they must pick a male lion in the pride who seems perfect for the role. If there are no males in the prides, then the pride disbands, or become a group of loners.

So the pride is made up of:

Mane
Hunt-Chief
Huntresses and Hunters
Elders
Cubs
