💀C H A P T E R F O U R💀

Last night's memory was a blur for Mia. But one thing is for sure: she will never attend any social gatherings ever again. Just the thought of spending another party left alone in the seats gave Mia the chills. But she did enjoyed the food though.

After preparing for school, she went downstairs. But what awaits her was far from the scene where her mom puts breakfast on the dining table. Mia saw her parents with horrified looks as they watched the news in the living room.

Confused, she turned her gaze at the TV and read the headline with a trembling voice.

46 DEATHS AFTER HIGHSCHOOL PROM NIGHT.

"Oh my god," Her mom gasped. Her father turned the volume louder as a newscaster reports the incident.

"46 graduating students of Averson High were found dead after a prom night. However, the victims' death still remains a mystery, for there had been no signs of strangulation, stab wounds or hand marks. Many have suspected that they died from inhaling a deadly chemical, but the laboratory results did not show any proof that they did. For now, the police had no lead on who the suspect is, but this is indeed a horrifying scene to witness."

After the report, the screen flashed pictures of the victims in black in white.

Mia tried to ignore the urge to vomit. It was horrible. She could barely recognise them.

Her mom hugged her tight and sobbed. "Oh sweetie it's a good thing that you came home early last night or else you would've been killed!"

Mia thought for a moment. One question still lingers in her head yet her memories from last night refused to give her the answer. How did she get home?

Millions of thoughts came flooding back in Mia's mind as she looked back at the television. 46 deaths? Does that mean I'm the only one who survived in our class? What the fuck is going on??

As the news reporter interviews one of the teachers in Averson High, a thought crossed Mia's mind. She knew that if the media found out about her being the only survivor, she could get interrogated. And worse, be considered as a suspect. But how could she be accused for such a crime when she doesn't even know how she got home in the first place?? She couldn't remember anything. It was all just a big blank.

Mia was about to go to the kitchen to get a drink when she felt a throbbing headache again. Her vision became blurred as she began to hear voices. She could hear her parents asking her if she's okay but she was too hazy to reply.

Freedom... The voice said before she passed out.
