Chapter 25

I'm Mrs. Perfect.

Did I say that already?

After spending the whole day Saturday with Diallo, my boyfriend, I made it to my room with a big smile on my face. I had not told my roomies what I was up to, and I felt some kind of way telling them about it now. They went to the game, and probably after to get something to eat.

They were not in the room. That was fine. I needed time to process everything.

I had a boyfriend. What does that mean?

I Facetimed Chantel and JuJu, I had to let them be the first to know.

"What's up college girl!" Chantel yelled out.

"I'm still waiting on my invite," JuJu said.

When I was home last weekend, I barely got to see them. They live down the street from my mother, and I spent maybe two hours with them and that was not enough. The next time I was home, I had to at least spend a whole day with them. Even better, they needed to roll up here, but neither had a car.

"The invite is open. Maybe I can get my step mum to pick you up and drive you up here. Soon."

"Aw, that's what's up. Angel cool as hell," Chantell said. "And tell her I need some free clothes."

Angel once took all of us on a shopping spree for my sixteenth birthday. The girls still talk about that all the time. I knew Angel was rich, but I did not realize how much until she dropped a couple of bills on me and my friends, without even batting an eye.

"So, guess what?"

"You're pregnant!" Chantell blurted out then laughed.

I gave her my evil eye. "How can I...if I don't....listen, shut up!"

"You came to my side, kissed a girl, and now you need some lessons on how to be a good lesbo," JuJu said. "You make a good femme, you're too girly to be a stud. Or a stemme, some of both. Whatever, we'll figure that out later."

I rolled my eyes at them making their jokes. I did not take offense to anything they were saying, we always cracked on each other about things.

"I did kiss a girl, but that's not what I need to tell you," I admitted to them, but I was not telling anyone else.

Chantell nearly dropped her phone. "HOLD UP! You're not going to just skrrrt past that? A girl?"

"Yasssss!" JuJu said. "I'm here for it, fo sho!"

"Now is this the same girl that was naked in your room?"

"Yes."

"Girllll, spill the tea! This is hot!"

I really did not call to tell them about Gay. This was nothing about her. I was over that little crush. Had to be, I was with her brother now.

"Gay is cool, when you guys come up here, you will meet her. Watch, you will love her."

"And do you?"

"Huh? What?" I blew out a frustrated sigh. "This is not about her. I have a boyfriend now, sheesh. He's like the hottest guy I have ever laid my eyes on."

"Oh!" Chantell said and did a little dance. "Finally getting some, huh."

I slapped my hand to my forehead. "No! You know I am not ready for sex, and having a boyfriend doesn't change that. Diallo is cool with that. He's sweet. We just spent all day just hanging out and talking."

"Oh, sounds boring," Chantell said.

"And lame," JuJu added. "Tell me more about this gay, Gay."

I giggled. "She's Diallo's sister, I don't want to talk about her like that."

"Wait, what? What kind of Young and the Restless mess is this?" Chantell asked.

We all watched soaps with our grandparents. Our favorite was Young and The Restless and Nick Newman could get it.

"Didn't I tell you about him before? That they were sister and brother and they were hot? Anyway, I'm with Diallo now. It's still new and all, so we shall see, but I think he is perfect."

"Mmm-hmmm, girl, the ones that seem perfect be the ones all messed up. You're going by what he looks like, and that's not all that matters in a relationship," JuJu said.

I liked what she was saying, but in this case, she was wrong. Diallo was gorgeous, smart, perfect, he was everything. If he was a bad guy, he would have tried something with me in his room, alone.

I talked to them for another hour before I decided to call my sister just to check on her. I did not see her while I was home because she was doing things with the other side of her family. She had a big family with her mother and other siblings like me. She was the oldest, but at fourteen, we were still night and day.

"Hey Mo," I said to her.

"Ugh! Girl, what is wrong with your hair? You're walking around looking like that?"

"What's wrong with my hair?" I walked over to look at myself in the mirror. The hair was a little dry looking, fluffy, and needed a new flatiron to it, but I was not tore up. Symone was a hair specialist, all she liked doing was her hair.

Being that hers was blue now, long down her back, in braids, I was not trying to look like her either.

"Do you even comb it?"

I rolled my eyes. I was not here for her opinion. My hair was fine, but now I would be self-conscious about it.

"Missed you over my three-day weekend."

"I didn't miss you."

"Why are you so mean?" I remember at her age, I might have been worse.

"Did you even bring me back anything if you miss me so much?"

I looked around my room and grabbed one of the Mizzou shirts I recently bought. "Hey, I'll bring you a cute shirt back next time."

"I'll take that, but you better come with some more big sis."

"I got you."

"And Imma do your hair when you come back again. I can't believe your girl Angel lets you run around at her school looking like that."

My sister Symone did not care for Angel at all. Which was weird because when we first met her, she was always all over her. Soon as my father moved in with Angel, she got pregnant with AJ, and things changed. She was not daddy's baby anymore, and I think for that she blamed Angel. I did not understand her thinking, and I would always try and show her that Angel cared for us like we were her own. And that daddy loved us no matter how many more kids they had.

Couldn't get through that thick skull. When she got older she would see how petty she was and I hoped she would have the relationship with Angel that I had.

"Maybe you can come up here and spend a weekend with me?"

"Really?"

"Yeah, that would be cool. Show you off to my friends. See what college is like. You do want to go to college, right?" I was not going to have her come the same weekend as Chantell and Juji though. That would be too much.

"I don't know. I'm not smart like you."

"And when was I ever smart? You will do fine in college."

"What about the boys? Please tell me they are grown and acting right in college because bay-bay...boys in high school just like the ones from middle school."

I laughed at her. Hard to believe she was a freshman in high school right now. And always boy crazy. There was not a time I remember my little sister not liking boys. She already had a couple of "boyfriends" if we're calling it that. Kissed her first boy before me too...well, really, since I haven't kissed a boy yet.

"Speaking of," I say with a big smile. "I have a boyfriend now."

"Girl, good for you. Send pics."

"I will. And don't tell Daddy, he doesn't need to know till I am ready to tell him."

"Agreed. You're like, grown, grown now, he doesn't need to be all up in your business now."

At least we agreed on that. Talking with my sister was a breath of fresh air.

A/N: This chapter has a lot, and maybe some clues to the future. The Rayvn/Diallo/Gay triangle, will Diallo feel a way that she kissed his sister?

I liked showing how Rayvn and Symone's relationship is right now. They never seemed that close in Hook an Angel. Not living together growing up could have affected that bond, or simply because they are 3 years apart
