Hearts
Big brown eyes and dark brown curls,
You pull me in with muttered words,
My skin lights up under your hands,
I try to stay afloat, I can't.
All of this unplanned and new,
You're a flame, I'm drawn to you,
Both of us melt in the heat,
All gone in a stuttering heartbeat.
Curtain coloured morning light,
I feel you behind half closed eyes,
The day tells me to let you go,
My hands hold on, my heart says no.
And if this is all there is,
I promise I am cool with it;
No pain, no heartbreak on the line,
You keep your heart and I keep mine.
