Snow
I love you more than quiet trips to the library,
More than early morning coffee,
More than sweaters,
More than autumn leaves,
More than pumpkin pie,
More than snow.
You once told me you loved me more than snow.
You told me as you looked down on me
Through your dark eyelashes
Coated in a thin layer of snow
And you smiled
And your dimples made depressions in your cheeks
Although they weren't really depressions
They were more delectations
And I remember your nose wrinkled
Causing the constellation of your freckles
To rearrange on your milk and honey skin.
And you laughed
God your laugh
And you took my hat
And placed it on your curls
And my heart melted
Both in happiness and despair
Because I knew you didn't really love me more than snow.
