Chapter Five
As the Louds read the letter, a seventeen year old Ronnie Anne Santiago was just getting home from hanging out at a friend's place. Sighing...she slowly dragged herself off to her room, jumped onto her bed and looked up at the ceiling. It was just another day...a day without one of her closest friends, Lincoln Loud.
Their friendship was a bit rocky in the beginning, but overtime they managed to overcome it and become close. Which is why...she felt like she should've done more to help him when he kept showing up in pajamas. Something was wrong yet she kept it to herself. A terrible decision that would come to bite her once she learned what the Louds have done to him prior to his disappearance.
"Sigh...I should've done more." She said to herself as her brother poked his head in and sighed. Bobby Santiago knew that Lincoln's disappearance was really hitting her hard and could faintly remember when he found out what happened.
Flashback:
Bobby was just sitting down watching TV with his little sister when their program was cut off by a breaking news report.
"Oh man...Just when it was getting to the good part." Ronnie Anne complained before she noticed her friend's picture on the TV.
"Little bro? Why hasn't Lori told me that he's gone missing?" Bobby asked to himself as he prepared to call Lori...when the news flashed to the Louds being pushed into the police car yelling loudly that this was all Lincoln's fault. A fact that shunned Bobby since the Louds instantly blamed their son/brother for their arrest. As the news carried on..Bobby felt his heart breaking in two as he learned what Lincoln went through for weeks due to his family's actions.
Flashback End
When the flashback ended, Bobby felt a hand touch his shoulder which made him jump a bit before turning around to come face to face with his fiancé Carol Pringrey. She was the person who stayed by his side as he struggled to go through his day when the trial ended. Somehow the two managed to click and were dating for four years until he popped the question to her. Now the two are making their wedding plans with the help of his extended family who were happy that Bobby found a better girl to love then that child abuser, Lori Loud.
"Bobby...Is Ronnie Anne thinking about Lincoln again?" Carol asked.
"Yes. Sigh..She misses him dearly and there is almost nothing that I can do to make her feel better." Bobby said.
"She'll be fine Bobby. Besides...something inside me tells me that she'll see him again." Carol said.
"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Bobby asked as Carol started to walk away. She knew that Ronnie Anne would meet her friend again...
Only she didn't know that he was engaged to marry someone as well.
At the same time, Lincoln sneezed and hoped that wasn't catching something. After stopping, he started to think of the people that he left behind when he accepted that deal with his new father. Which included his best friends, his older role models that were found outside the family and the people who treated him like one of their own. He missed them. However, it was too dangerous to show his face to him seeing how he had many enemies like his father. Which meant that they could easily be hurt or killed due to his presence and honestly, he would rather die than see them suffer.
"hm..I wonder how my old friends are doing?" Lincoln said unaware that his father heard him and was planning on inviting (more like kidnapping) them to the lair. But before that, he had to cheek on the progress of Lincoln's old family.
