7 Years
POV: Zelda
Ship: Zelink
Game: OoT
Before story notes: takes place after TLoZ: MM.
I've never played Majora's Mask so I'm assuming Link survives and continues with his life after the game so this is what happens after.

7 years. That's how much time had passed since I sent Link, the hero of time, back to relive his childhood. Link is the hero of time, savior of me, Princess Zelda and our homeland, Hyrule.
When he was 9 years old, he visited my castle, telling me about the three spiritual stones, and how he needed to collect them to help save Hyrule. Ever since that day, I'll admit that I had a crush on him.
A few weeks after that, he returned to my castle, but just as Ganondorf, the king of evil, had taken over the castle. I managed to throw the Ocarina of time to Link, so he could continue his quest.
When he located the Temple of Time, he fell into a deep sleep for 7 years. Those years were taken out of his life, and that's why I sent him back to relive them. Because not having memories of 7 years is like not having memories of part of your life. And I sent Link back to create those lost memories during those seven years.
Now, I was sitting here, replaying the memory in my head. I could see that he didn't want to go back as I played the song of time, but I had to do this. It was for the best. Now, he has officially relived those seven years and made the lost memories. I wondered where he was now. Does he remember me? Is his life going okay? Does he still live in Kokiri Forest? I nearly screamed in frustration trying to answer these questions. I had to find out. I just had to.
I managed to somehow sneak out of the castle and get my horse, Dawn. My plan was to go to Kokiri Forest disguised as a young warrior and see if Link was there. If not, I would question a Kokiri about him. If I was lucky, I could reunite with him.
I mounted Dawn and began to ride toward the entrance to Kokiri Forest. I could hear cheery music coming from a huge hollow log the Dawn and I could fit through, so I assumed it was the entrance to Kokiri Forest because I had never actually been there. Dawn obeyed me, and we walked through the log, towards Kokiri Forest.
We finally got to the other side of the log, and the sight was amazing. In front of me was a village made entirely out of small wood houses and treehouses. I dismounted Dawn and started cautiously walking through the village. I couldn't believe Link lived here. I noticed that all around me, young kids in green clothing were backing off and hiding from me. I quickly took my hood down so I looked less intimidating. The Kokiri calmed down a bit.
I noticed a girl who looked a bit more mature than the rest. She had green hair, green eyes and green clothes. She didn't looked scared of me, so I approached her, ready to ask about Link. She looked at me and said, " Welcome to Kokiri Forest! My name's Saria!"
"Hello Saria" I replied "I just have a question. Does Link live here anymore?"
Saria looked like she had been punched in the stomach.
"L-Link," she started, "He l-left to g-go t-to T-Termina. It's b-because he said he r-regretted l-leaving P-Princess Z-Zelda and he felt that h-he d-didn't d-deserve to be in H-Hyrule anymore.."
I nodded. He regretted leaving me?! But Termina was so far away.. How was I supposed to find him now? I sighed.
"I understand. Sorry for bothering you, but thank you for the advice." With that, I walked to Dawn and mounted her again, waving as I rode out of the Forest.
Nighttime had fallen and I decided not to go back to the castle. I had to find Link, I just had to. I built a small circle of rocks and pile of wood in it for a temporary campfire. I used Din's Fire to light it up and sat by the fire for a bit. Eventually, I decided to try to find food.
I walked through the field, trying to find something to eat. Then, out of nowhere, I was pinned to the ground, could metal against my throat. I didn't dare to breathe as I looked up at the face of the person. The face was scarred and bruised, but easily recognizable. It was...
Link. Link, all bruised and bloody was over me, holding a sword up to my throat. But as soon as he met my eyes, he removed his sword from my neck and tackled me in a hug I was NOT expecting.
"Zelda!!!" He exclaimed with joy.
"Link!!!!" I laughed. Soon we were walking back to camp, hand in hand. We told each other our stories and listened to each other's stories. Apparently, Link had saved Termina from the moon crashing down on it. I was speechless.
"I-I.. Wow. That's incredible." I said.
"I guess. But Zelda? I missed you." He said unexpectedly.
" I missed you too." I said smiling.
"All the time I was gone, I was thinking about you. The thought of you always encouraged me to continue my quest. I always thought about you and how I would tell you what I'm going to tell you next."
"What is it?" I said, curious. Link took a deep breath.
"Zelda? I-I I think... I think I.. I l-love you.." He said, stuttering.
"I love you too Link!" I exclaimed, blushing madly. Through the light of the fire, I could see him grinning like a madman. Blushing, he leaned towards me. My eyes widened in shock as our lips met. Slowly, I closed my eyes and pulled him closer, enjoying the kiss. After what seemed like an eternity, we pulled away, both laughing hysterically next to each other. From that day on, we were the princess and her hero. The hero and his princess. That's how much can happen in 7 years.
