One of the hardest decisions of my day, maybe even my week, was taking place. I needed to choose between getting the orange chicken with vegetable lo mein, or the beef teriyaki sticks with egg rolls.
As I was relating my inner struggle to Annabeth, I could tell she just didn't see the problem.
"Which would you get?" I asked her.
Annabeth sighed. "I don't know. Listen, I'll get the chicken one, and you can get the teriyaki sticks, and we'll share."
I smiled. "No wonder you're my Wise Girl."
She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah."
The waiter came around, and everyone ordered. There was quite a few people in our group, mostly family. It was Mom, Paul, Thalia, Nico, Bianca, and Annabeth. Thalia was twenty, Bianca was almost fourteen, Nico was eleven, and Annabeth and I were fifteen, so obviously we had quite the age range. We still had a blast whenever we were together, despite that.
After the waiter left with a full list of our meals, my cousins began bantering. I listened for a little bit before chuckling under my breath and turning to Annabeth.
"What did you think of the meet?" I asked her.
She smiled. "It was good. You did great. I was meaning to ask, though, what happened right before the breaststroke event? I noticed you got pretty tense after talking to that guy."
"Oh, um, that was Ethan Nakamura. He knows Luke, I guess." I rubbed the nape of my neck. "He was teasing me about you, I guess. It was stupid, he just got in my head over nothing, that's all."
Annabeth furrowed her eyebrows and frowned. "But you got over it."
I blushed. "Yeah, I heard you cheering. It helped me out a lot, actually."
She smiled, squeezing my hands that were clasped nervously on the table with her own minuscule ones. "Glad to be of assistance."
My eyes draped across her body, from her fingertips down her arms, over her shoulders, past her lips and her nose, and finally settling on her gorgeous grey eyes.
It's now or never, I thought, biting my lip.
"I was wondering if you had any plans for Spring Fling," I blurted out.
Annabeth's lips formed a perfect o shape. "Huh?"
I stared into my lap. "Spring Fling is in a week, and neither of us have a date. Do you want to go together?"
"You mean together together, or just in a friend way?" she asked skeptically.
My eyes darted across her face. "H-however you want."
Annabeth smiled. "I'd love to be your date to Spring Fling."
I grinned. "Good, because that would have been pretty awkward if you turned me down."
She playfully shoved my chest. "So, the other day at architecture club, we began studying this new technique for creating models. It's fascinating, Perce."
I nodded with a small smiled dancing across my lips. Annabeth continued her story about a method for building models, but my thoughts were elsewhere.
When Annabeth asked if I was asking her out as a friend or an actual date, why did she seem nervous? Was it because she didn't want to be with me that way? Or maybe she did, and wasn't sure if I felt the same. When she said she wanted to be my date, did she mean romantically or not?
I mentally sighed, wishing I had asked for clarification in the moment. I didn't want to seem like I was still dwelling on the fact that the girl I liked agreed to go to Spring Fling with me. I didn't want to seem desperate, or obsessed, even though I definitely was.
"...then you connect the materials using - " Annabeth's voice abruptly cut off, bringing me out of my thoughts.
I blinked. "What?"
Annabeth rolled her eyes. "You weren't even listening, Seaweed Brain."
I sheepishly smiled. "I'm sorry."
"No worries. I think the food is coming. Look."
She pointed across the dimly lit Chinese restaurant to our waiter, who was carrying a tray loaded with our meals. He gracefully sauntered to our table and distributed the food.
"...the beef teriyaki meal for you, fine fellow, and the orange chicken with veggie lo mein, a wonderful choice for a wonderful lady."
The waiter winked, momentarily hiding one of his dark brown eyes, and put his hand on the table, leaning awfully close to Annabeth. I scowled, taking in his features.
The guy seemed Asian, with short black hair, dark eyes, and thin lips. He had slight dark stubble, a sharp jaw, and high cheek bones. I guess he was handsome.
"Enjoy." He stood straight again and ran off to the kitchen.
I stared at the spot where the guy had rested his hand. A small scrap of paper resided there. It had the guy's name - Sherman Yang - and seven digits, presumably his number.
Annabeth followed my gaze and noticed the paper for the first time. She read it quickly, scrunching up her nose and crumpling it. She looked back to me.
"Do you want to split the food now, or wait until we are about half finished and just switch plates?" she asked.
I smiled a little, grateful she wasn't residing on the subject of the confident waiter. "Let's wait, just in case I like this more than I anticipated. I might want to keep more than I think I do."
Annabeth rolled her eyes. "Only you, Seaweed Brain."

Thursday, 5-3-18
I woke up with a face full of lemon scented hair.
Several thoughts ran through my head. Where on earth am I, was one of them. Is this who I think it is, was another.
I shut my eyes hard before fluttering them open. Yep, I was in Annabeth's room alright. Several books were scattered along the shelves, as well as trophies and awards.
I suddenly realized what had happened the night before. I had offered to walk Annabeth home from the Chinese restaurant after we finished dinner, and we had been chatting in her room. We must have fallen asleep, because when I checked the clock it was almost seven o'clock in the morning.
I sat up. If I had walked Annabeth home after the dinner celebrating my wins for my meet, that meant it was Thursday morning. Which meant we had school.
I groaned, leaning over and patting Annabeth's shoulder. It seemed that she had fallen asleep with her head on my shoulder, and that's why I was greeted by her hair.
Annabeth's long eyelashes parted, revealing her glimmering grey eyes. She grumbled something uncomprehendingly, rubbing her face.
I smirked. "Morning."
She frowned. "What time is it?"
"Almost seven," I replied. "We've got to get going."
"Where?"
"School, Wise Girl. It's only Thursday."
"What?!" she exclaimed, jumping out of bed.
We were both still in our street clothes from the day before. I was wearing nice shorts and a navy blue polo shirt, as I had taken off my brand new Goode High School swim team captain hoodie before collapsing onto the bed with Annabeth the night before. She was still wearing her striped shirt and denim shorts.
"Malcolm probably had clothes you can borrow," Annabeth stated. "I can go grab some from his closet if you want."
I shook my head. "I'll just grab a new shirt, because this one's wrinkled. My shorts are fine, though."
"Okay, let's go then."
We scrambled out of bed. I rushed quietly down the hall and knocked lightly on Malcolm's door. He opened after a moment with a frown on his face.
"Percy? Why are you still here?"
"We came here to talk. We fell asleep. Accidentally. That's it."
Malcolm narrowed his eyes skeptically. "So, what do you need?"
"Can I borrow a tee shirt?"
"Sure." He went to rummage through something and came back quickly. He tossed me a plain black tee shirt. "Here you go. Give it back sometime, yeah?"
I nodded. "Thanks."
I took off to the bathroom, texting my parents along the way. I apologized for not coming home, and asked Paul to bring my backpack to school for me. I quickly changed tops and tried to fix my hair, before running to the kitchen, startling Helen.
"Percy!" she screeched. "What are you doing here?"
"I walked Annabeth home last night, but I fell asleep," I explained with a blush on my cheeks.
She sighed. "Here, take some eggs. Condiments are in the cupboard."
I grabbed a plate and began eating. Annabeth came in just then, taking her own serving and sitting beside me at the breakfast bar.
After eating, we rushed out of the house.
"You know," Annabeth mentioned. "I can hardly remember the last sleep over we had. Maybe it was overdue."
I laughed, tugging the hem of my shirt self consciously. It was a bit too tight for my liking, seeing as Malcolm was scrawny, to put it bluntly.
Annabeth glanced over, before staring at her shoes. Her cheeks were tinged red.
I bumped her shoulder. "Why are you blushing?" I teased.
"I was thinking something silly," she admitted. "Two silly things, actually."
"Tell me, tell me, tell me," I pleaded.
She rolled her eyes. "Firstly, I was thinking maybe we should have a sleep over after Spring Fling. We can go over to either your place or mine and watch movies, if you'd like."
I smiled. "Sounds good." I paused. "What else?"
"That shirt makes you look really buff," she mumbled.
"What did you say?"
Annabeth glared at me. "You heard me, Seaweed Brain. Now, come on, walk faster. We're going to be late."

That was so cuuuuuuuuuuute! Did ya like it? Did ya did ya did ya? We're at a turning point, folks. Leave a vote if you enjoyed and comment your favorite thing to get at a Chinese restaurant! Mine is either vegetable lo mein, crab rangoons, or spring rolls.
Also, the phrase used in the title means that everything seems to be going good, and that everything will turn out fine, if you didn't know :)
See you soon!
