As I push the door open, a familiar chime rang above my head.
Eric poked his head out from behind the counter as he said, "Welcome to- oh hey Amaya."
I waved him hello as I slid off my cardigan and backpack. Lifting the counter to walk through to the back room, Lynn and Eric were sitting at the desks looking through some papers.
There were boxes that contained food and some sweets as my mouth watered. Lynn snapped me out of my thoughts as she patted the chair next to her, she opened the box of chocolate chip cookies and handed them to me.
Taking a bite out of the gooey chocolate cookie, I suppressed a moan.
Lynn opened her mouth to speak, "So I know you're busy Amaya, so Eric and I stocked most of the products for the sale. You just have to do what you do best and make it look better."
She shot me a smile as I nodded. Having a sale sometimes isn't enough to attract customers, the presentation plays a big deal in things as well.
"Don't worry boss! I won't let you down, I never have actually." I smirked at her confidently as she rolled her green eyes.
She got up and waved me off like I was an annoying bee and disappeared from our sights.
I got out of class early today, it was a half day. Yesterday I got my midterm papers back from almost every class and I didn't fail any, just mediocre grades.
Today was Wednesday; marking our weekly sales day. I was supposed to come in last night to help restock everything but thankfully they let me off.
Finishing the cookie, I wiped my hands with a lemon scented wet wipe. Taking out my journal, I picked up my pen and started writing wherever my mind takes me.

Little by little the shop became increasingly noisy. Sounds of footsteps and different voices were heard throughout the store. Us workers were busy as well, helping people with their needs or questions about products.
It's about 4 PM now, it got busy right when it hit 2
PM, that's when everyone usually comes by. It would get busy again around 6, when people got off work then we would close by 9. Closing was the worst, the store was usually a mess where it just threw my anxiety off the roof.
Items placed onto the counter neatly threw me out of my own mind as I looked up slowly. Fixing my posture and standing up, I let out a commercial smile. My eyes widened as I saw a seriously good looking guy in front of me, he gave me serious k-pop vibes. Circle glasses framed his eyes as his hair was messily sitting on his head, but it looked good.
He gave me a smile as I gave myself a 'wtf' mentally before thinking, do your job.
"Hello! How are you, I hope you found everything alright." I picked up the scanner and scanned the items one by one, placing them on the side.
Seeing him nod out of the corner of his eye, he turned his head to look around the shop, before parting his pink lips to speak.
"Wow it's busy here today huh? Oh yes, everything was fine." His voice sounded very relaxing and smooth as he glanced up at me from his glasses.
"Yeah, we have a sale every week! So if you ever need anything, Wednesday's are the best day to come." I shot him a smile as I bagged the items up carefully.
"Your total is 30.65$." I said as I glanced at the screen.
He nodded as he pulls out a slim black wallet from his hoodie pocket, he takes out his matte blue credit card, handing it to me.
"Thank you." I spoke as I swiped the card into the machine, clicking the green button to confirm the price.
The receipt started printing as I tore it off neatly, handing him the receipt and card altogether. Picking up the two bags, I handed it to him with both hands.
Taking them from my hands, they brushed against mine as I saw him jump slightly. I bit my lip holding in a laugh as he let out a small chuckle.
"Thank you, see you next week." He shoots me a quick smile as I nodded, thanking him again.
Sitting back down on the wooden stool, I let out a big sigh watching the people walk around the shop.
It was going to be a long night, I can't wait till I hit the shower and sleep.
