Chapter 19
Miss Edwina Chopra and Mister Edmundo Onte are members of an elite group of wizards, purebloods. Their parents are just as prominent and respected in wizarding society as any other purebloods, the Malfoy family attended not only the celebrations of each of their births but also the promise of their engagement. Their parents hold all of the values and traditions of the most ancient pureblood families, without the restrictions of Hogwarts House. When both children were sorted into Hufflepuff their parents were ecstatic, especially because it would help their match become one of love if not just friendship. They've known ever since they were children that they were promised and would one day wed, so it was no surprise when crushes were had and they began dating at a young age. The plan now that they are in their seventh year is to have the wedding in the summer so they won't have to worry about school and all of their friends can come. What no one was expecting was two weeks after Harvest Fest and their celebrations at home that Miss Edwina would be discovered pregnant. It was a bit of a scandal, being out of wedlock and all, but they are adults so there's nothing to be done. They will be out of school by the time she has the baby, now whether it will be before or after the wedding is to be seen. Hiding her pregnancy was a major task to undertake, though pureblood parents tend to talk to others. News of a new pureblood coming into the world spread quickly through the wizarding community and Hogwarts.
Therefore, Edwina and Edmundo are not too surprised when Miss Pansy Parkinson walks up to them asking about her new pregnancy. What does surprise them is the request she asks them.
"You want me to what?" Edwina asks, exchanging a glance with her fiance. They cannot tell if the young Slytherin in front of them is serious or joking. Who would ask something this weird to people they'd only met at family parties?
"I was wondering if you would hide my friend under your robes and help me sneak her into Hogsmeade, she's only a second year but our whole friend group will be there and we don't want her to be left behind. I know it's a lot to ask, and if we get caught the consequences could be..."
Edwina cuts her off with a raised hand, "Girl, breath. I get it, I would be happy to help. Though as you can see," She gestures to her small bump. "I am not very far along, so I am not too sure how believable it will be."
Edmundo butts in, "I'm not sure anyone will notice, Filch is the one standing by the gate, he doesn't look at us." They nod at the accuracy.
Pansy squeals in excitement and hugs Edwina in thanks.

Pansy and Draco pull Lily by the hand to a private corridor where Edwina and Edmundo are waiting. They explain the plan and give introductions on how best to safely get Lily hidden without harming either her or Edwina's baby. It is a little difficult to manoeuvre but Lily's small stature comes in helpful for this deceit. Pansy and Draco show their head of house their permission forms and head off to Hogsmeade. Arriving they hurry with the couple to a secluded area, as Lily begins shifting she slips and tumbles out from Edwina's robes.
She lets out a sarcastic gasp and slaps her hands to her cheeks, "Oh, I've given birth." She says sarcastically.
Giggling Draco, Pansy, and Lily begin exploring all over Hogsmeade. They go buy sweets from honeydukes, popping into J. Pippin's Potions they look at different ingredients. Looking at all of the pretty plants at Dogweed and Deathcap they loved the black bearded iris.
Walking through the streets of Hogsmeade they enjoy their sweet treats and laugh at stupid things. It isn't until they pass the three broomsticks that everything falls apart.
Severus exits the building, ready to go back to his room and read by the fire when he spots someone who shouldn't be there.
Lily is terrified when her eyes mean Severus'. He looks angry, not his usual annoyed self, but actually angry, with her. He storms over to the group and tears into them. He talks about how dangerous it is for Lily to be out here. He grabs her arm and begins to escort her back to Hogwarts.
Robes billowing behind him as he marches through the narrow streets of Hogsmeade, his expression a thundercloud of fury. The figure of Lily-Kathryn trailing behind him, her head bowed in shame and fear.
"Explain yourself," Severus snaps, his voice low and menacing. "What on earth possessed you to leave the safety of Hogwarts, especially with Sirius Black on the loose?"
Lily's face flushed. "I just... wanted to see Hogsmeade," she mumbled. "Everyone talks about it, and I thought... maybe just a quick look..."
"A quick look?" Snape's voice raises dangerously. "Do you have any idea the danger you've put yourself in? Do you think your whims and curiosities are more important than your safety?"
Lily-Kathryn flinched at his tone but kept silent, knowing that anything she said would only make things worse.
"You are twelve years old," Snape continued his voice a hiss. "Second years are not allowed in Hogsmeade for a reason. Risking your life to go to the candy shop, how foolish."
Lily walks on, unable to meet his eyes.
"You will serve detention every evening for the next two weeks," Snape declared. "And you will write lines about what you did wrong and what you should have done instead."
"Yes, Professor," Lily-Kathryn replied, her voice trembling.
"And mark my words," Snape said, his voice firm and unwavering, "if you ever pull a stunt like this again, the consequences will be far more severe. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Professor Snape," she said, finally daring to look up at him.
"Good," he replied, turning on his heel and leading her back towards Hogwarts. After a few moments of tense silence, he added in a quieter, softer tone, "Lily-Kathryn, I expect better from you. You are smarter than this. Don't let me down again."
She glanced up at him, seeing a flicker of concern in his eyes, and nodded. "I won't, Professor. I'm really sorry."
Snape gave a curt nod, his expression softening ever so slightly. "Now, keep up. And not another word."

Sitting in the dimly lit detention room, the sound of Lily's quill scratching against parchment as she writes her lines seems so loud in the otherwise silent space:
"I will not sneak out of Hogwarts. I will think before I act."
She fills nearly three pages before the door creaks open. Severus drags Draco into the room by his sleeve. Lily's eyes dart to the pair, curious as to what could've happened.
"Miss. Lily," Severus acknowledges her before gesturing to the boy on his left, "Mr. Malfoy here has decided to test my patience by starting a disturbance in the library. As a result, he will spend his detention scraping potion ingredients off the bottoms of the tables in the Potions classroom. By hand."
Draco smirks slightly. "I thought the library needed a bit of excitement, Professor."
"Enough," Snape cuts him off sharply. "You will start by retrieving the necessary supplies from the storage cupboard."
Draco nods and takes a seat at the back of the room. As he passes Lily-Kathryn, he shoots her a quick, reassuring look. She blinks in surprise but quickly returns to her writing, not wanting to attract any more attention.
Snape watches them both for a moment, his expression unreadable. He sighs, tired. "I expect both of you to complete your tasks without further incident," he says, his voice cold and authoritative. "And Mr. Malfoy, remember that any shortcuts or attempts to shirk your duty will result in extended detention."
Severus turns on his heel and sweeps out of the room, leaving Lily and Draco in silence. She resumes her writing, and the combination of a scratching quil and Draco gathering supplies resounds in the room.
Draco glances up at his friend as he kneels by the first table and begins scraping the hardened potion ingredients. "You know, I didn't really need to cause a disturbance," he says quietly. "I just thought you might want some company."
Lily looks at him, a mix of gratitude and amusement in her eyes. "You got detention on purpose?"
Draco shrugs, focusing on his work. "Didn't want you to have to spend this time alone. Besides, it's not like I haven't been in detention before."
Lily smiles and returns to her lines, the burden of her punishment feeling a little lighter knowing that her best friend is there by choice. Despite the tediousness of their tasks, the shared experience and Draco's presence make the time pass more quickly.
