Chapter 16: ''My name is Ginny Weasley.''
Walking into her potions class, early as always, Lily takes a glance around the room. She sees everything the way it is normal except, a certain redheaded girl slumped down in her seat. Kathryn walks closer, glancing at her pale, shaking form.
"Weasley, are you alright?" She gently inquires, flinching when the other girl flinches. "I'm sorry," She rushes out. "I didn't mean to startle you."
The Weasley sits up slowly. She looks sickly pale, slightly green. "I'm fine, what do you want?" She tries to snap but it's just plain pitiful.
"N-Nothing," Lily-Kathryn stutters, worried the girl will scold her like on their first day. She goes to turn back to her seat when the other girl slumps back over. Kathy reaches out, placing a hand on her forehead. "You're burning up! You should go to the infirmary."
The girl shakes her head viciously, "No, no I can't."
Lily is very worried about the poor girl, she doesn't look well at all. She sets her stuff down at the table and plops into the seat next to her, ignoring the looks she gets from the other Gryffindors around her. Snape sends her a confused look, but Lily just shakes her head. Sending him a look that says don't ask. Class begins and Kathryn sets up their cauldron and gathers the ingredients for a forgetfulness potion, heating the Lethe river water and stirring in the sprigs. While she waits for it to brew she crushes the dried herbs and mistletoe berries in the mortar. Once the brew is done, she mixes in her pinches of the powder. To finish off the potion she turns to the Weasley girl, who has been quietly watching her work, "Will you cast the memory charm to finish the potion?"
The girl waves her wand, turning it into a milky white color. Lily raises her hand, waiting for the professor to notice. Once he does, he glides over, checking their potion. Once they get the all-clear the Weasley girl turns to Lily-Kathryn.
"Why'd you do that?" She asks, slowly looking down at the tiny girl.
Lily takes a moment to gather the ingredients and organize them a little. She looks up at the redhead, "Well, you don't look like you feel well today and, I didn't think you wanted professor Snape snapping at you just because you're too stubborn to go to the infirmary. Besides, you and I might not be friends but, you are friends with my brother, and I love my brother. I know he wouldn't be happy if I saw that one of his friends wasn't doing well and I did nothing about it. So here we are. Now, are you going to tell me what's wrong or am I going to get strange looks from my housemates and glares from yours for nothing?"
The girl sighs, looking at her hands. She looks up, holding out her right hand, "Konnichiwa, it is good to meet you. My name is Ginny Weasley."
Lily giggles at her weird way of speaking, but takes her hand nonetheless. "Konnichiwa, Ginny Weasley. It is good to meet you too. My name is Lily-Kathryn Potter, but everyone calls me Kathryn." Ginny cracks a smile. "So, are you going to tell me what's bothering you so much today?"
Ginny sighs, "I just haven't been sleeping well, like; I've been sleeping, and I don't wake up or anything but the next morning it feels as though I've been running all around the castle doing Merlin knows what. And sometimes, when I wake up, I'm not in my bed at all. I'm just outside, or in the common room, once I was down the hall in the bathroom, for no reason! I'm beginning to get freaked out."
Lily thinks long and hard about what this could mean for poor Ginny. "So, you're sleepwalking and therefore are tired. That makes sense, have you ever sleep-walked before?" She shakes her head. "Alright, then has anything changed lately causing you any stress or worry, it could also be from being away from home and in a new environment for the longest you have ever been."
Ginny thinks about what she says, "Well, I have never slept so far from home so that could be it. I do miss my parents too, but Tom says that's normal."
"Who's Tom?" Ginny looks startled, did she say something too personal?
"Oh, no one. Just my friend." Ginny gives a nervous giggle. "Well, they sound very smart." Lily responds, "So, what's your favorite class? Mine is Potions."
Ginny thinks about it for a second, sure, people had asked her whether or not she liked Hogwarts, but no one thought about asking what she liked about it. "Well, I would probably have to say charms. It's just really fun learning about all of the different charms and hexes. I wish I liked potions, it's kind of like cooking and I always liked cooking with my mom. I'm just really bad at it, if I don't get my grades up soon Professor Snape is going to send an owl home." Ginny hangs her head in shame. Lily-Kathryn perks up, "I'm great at potions, if you want I can tutor you?"
Ginny looks up, confused. "Why would you help me?"
"What do you mean?" Lily inquires, tilting her head.
"I was so mean to you this year." She shakes her head, "I snapped at you for no reason."
"Well, I believe that people are entitled to their own opinion, that is all. This world owes us nothing but our rights and our opinion. Now, just because you made your first opinion of me based on my house is not the best but, that is a part of growing up. We have to let each other make their own decisions, unbiased by others." She pauses, reaching out a hand to grab Ginny's, "In my opinion, you are not a bad person. You are just a girl who grew up hating my house, and that's not your fault. I tell Draco all the time, it's just how you grew up, it's all you know. You can either continue believing what you do or you can grow and evolve as you meet new people, develop your own opinions, and move on. So, I'll ask you again, would you like me to tutor you."
Ginny stares at the girl, and a feeling wells up in her chest. Shame. Tears fill her eyes and she lunges forward, hugging the girl. "I'm s-so, sorry!" She cries into Kathryn's shoulder as the small girl looks up at the rest of the class who have turned to watch this strange development. "I-I should've never
treated you the way I did when we first met. Especially since I didn't know you at all. Will you ever forgive me?" They pull apart, Ginny wiping her tears as Lily smiles at her softly.
Noticing their stoic professor marching over she waves him away, putting her full focus on the girl in front of her. "Ginny, I was never upset with you, to begin with, I told you this. I don't blame you for your reaction to me, It's all you know."
She sniffles, rubbing her nose, "Alright, if you're sure. I would love to have you as a tutor. When do you want to start?"
Seeing as all of the drama is over, the class goes back to what they were doing. "Perfect, we can start at lunch if that is alright with you." She nods, "Alright, now, I cannot sit at the Gryffindor table because they don't like me because I am a Slytherin; and you cannot sit at the Slytherin table because they don't like you because you are a Griffindor, and a Weasley. So, I propose we sit at the Hufflepuff table because they would be very supportive without trying to take over our session as a Ravenclaw will. What do you think?"
Ginny looks at her, wondering how she put all of that together so quickly, before agreeing. They promise to meet for lunch and leave for their next classes.

Arriving at lunch, Lily gives Draco and her usual lunch friends a heads up before she goes to the Hufflepuff table with her potions textbooks. Cedric greets her excitedly, inquiring what she was doing there, not that he wasn't happy, just surprised. She explains everything with Ginny and their new tutoring session. Sitting at the table she eats a sandwich as she waits. Ginny walks into the Great Hall ignoring the strange looks she gets from her brother and friends as she joins Lily-Kathryn at their table. They both make sure to have some talk about potions, making a game plan for meetings in the future. Once they have finished eating to an extent they pull out their books and begin the lesson.
Lunch is almost finished and the girls are closing up their first tutoring session when a certain Weasley boy storms up to them, dragging Lily-Kathryn from the table by her arm. She gasps, startled, catching herself when he shoves her away.
Ginny rushes to standing, the other students being drawn to the scene. "Get away from my sister, Snake." Ron hisses out. (Ironic, I know) He walks close to Kathryn as she backs away, fear fills her eyes. "Who do you think you are? You will not LOOK at my sister, you will not TALK to her, you won't even THINK about her; understood?" Lily goes to respond when a shadow descends upon them.
"You better back up, Weaslebee. Or else!" Draco gets all up in Ron's face, practically growling at the end. Lily grabs onto the back of Draco's robes to stop him from continuing. Standing behind Ron, Cedric looms above him. Kathryn has never seen an expression on his face like the one on it now, he looks livid. She feels a presence behind her and whips around to see all of her friends and her brother standing there looking furious.
"Ron, what the hell? That's my sister you're talking to." Harry exclaims.
"Yeah, well, she is a bad influence and I don't want her badgering my sis-..." He is beginning what looks to be a long rant when he is suddenly interrupted by a hard slap in the back of the head and a voice that gives him flashbacks of his mother.
"RONALD WEASLEY, you better apologize right now!! Kathryn wasn't badgering me you stupid dingus, she was tutoring me in potions. Now, piss off and leave us alone, no one asked you for your stupid prejudiced opinions!" Ginny shrieks at him, her face turning as red as her hair in rage. Ron flinches back from her, head bowed. He goes to say something when she snaps in his face, "Apologize to Kathryn, right now!"
Ron screws his face up, glaring at Lily but stops at another slap in the head. "I'm sorry." He mumbles.
Lily-Kathryn peaks her head around the side of Draco, "It's alright." She squeaks back. Before another word can be said Draco turns around, lifting Lily with one arm and carrying her out of the Great Hall, their group following behind.
They arrive at their common room and he sets her down. "Go upstairs and change into some comfy pajamas," Draco demands.
"What, but we have classes?" Draco shakes his head.
"No, we are ditching. I don't care, go get changed. Pansy," Pansy rushes past their friends and grabs Kathryn in her arms. "Go make sure she gets changed."
"I'm on it Draco, come on girls." Pansy, Kathryn, Grace, Ari, and Astoria go to their dorms to get ready.
Once done they all go back downstairs to see the common room decked out in pillows and blankets everywhere. The boys stand up from a pillow fort in the center of the room, wearing their pajamas too.
Draco looks down at his wrist, which is bare from any watch. "Right on time, let's get this party started."
The girls burst into giggle fits and rush to join them in the fort.
