We sit and patiently wait for our turn to put on the magic hat. I don't know what to think or what to expect.
"Anything but Slytherin", I think to myself.
"Robin Brown"
"But if I get Slytherin I'll have to just accept it..." my thoughts continue.
"Robin Brown" says the man with the long white beard for apparently the third time. 
My cheeks turn crimson red.
I stand up and walk a little too fast towards the hat. Just before I reach the hat, my foot hits the corner of the staircase. I feel my weight fall onto my arms and I'm able to catch myself with my hands. I quickly stand up as if nothing just happened.
"I tripped, I can't believe I tripped" I think to myself.
*Everyone giggles*
"You may be seated", says the man with the white beard.
I sit on the huge burgundy chair.
He puts the hat on my head. It's heavier than I expected. It feels as if I have a pillow on my head.
"House Griffindor!", the man yells behind me.
I'm so relieved. If I would've gotten Slytherin I don't even know what I would've done.
I run back to my seat amongst the crowd. My best friend, Lily, sitting next to me holds my hand. She smiles. She's excited for me. Our dream was to both be in Griffindor together. Other names were called and then, after what seemed to be an eternity, the moment we were waiting for.
"Lily Gonzalez", he called.
She quickly ran up and sat on the chair. The hat was placed on her head. We wait. And finally.
"Lily of house... Griffindor!" He Yelled.
Her heart raced with excitement. "Yes!" Thought Lilly. "My life is now complete! Farewell old life! Hello New life!"
