The Other Side
Lilith's POV
I creeped over to the body. She was shaking and foaming from the mouth. She looked at me with fear evident in her eyes. Her eyes were piercing at me as if it was begging for me to do something. To save her life. The bite wound on her neck sored worse. Black smoke was diffusing from it. Her breath hitched in her throat. She was suffocating. She was spitting out the blood that was stopping her breath. I kneeled over her just watching her fight for her life. She kept staring at me. Her Brien eyes pleading for mercy but it wasn't me who she should be begging. Am just flesh and blood like her. With a mortal soul.... For now
Her pleading glare was transformed into a 'good bye' however this was not a good look. I her eye balls rolled over and blood spilled from them. I gawked at it. The experience of blood loosing from the body excites me somehow. I licked my lips. 'Just die already' I chanted in my head. Suddenly her pale body floated in the air. I looked up watching her lay in the thin air. Her stomach puffed. I saw her. I saw zilch. Pulling the life out of her. She smirked at me viciously then she threw her mouth over hers and drew out her soul. She let out a light gasp but that was the last sound she made. Her body dropped out of the air and onto the cold floor. Her head was turned to me. Her eyes widened in shock by her mysterious death. Or maybe because I just stood there watching the whole thing.
My instincts were urging me to eat her flesh and drink her blood until she deflated even further. But... Something was stopping me. My heart wouldn't let me.
A tear hit my cheek. Something that never happened before especially for a human. But somehow when I look at Emily I remember how kind she was to me. She was my only friend by default. I felt remorse, guilt and sorrow. I... I... I like her. She didn't deserve to die like this. I cried since I knew when zilch attacked me it was Emily who saved me. Not once but twice. So I owed her. Even my life.
I held her cold lifeless hand. I held it tightly and closed my eyes. I inhales deeply then spoke in tongues.
"suex deh allama clave heidi amud
Sru veh mellabscko y tuver" I repeated the spell thrice then opened my now pitch black eyes. I was in the other realm. Where the dead roams. I was in a familiar forest. Where my home is. I walked aimlessly through the foggy wilderness.
I heard whispers and footsteps running through the forest. I scanned the vacant woods but the fog was getting thicker. I walked further and halted as I saw a white silhouette floating through the forest. I watched her ascend beyond a hill where she disappeared all at once. I ran towards it trying to see where it was going. I stood still analyzing my environment. I was lost. Every tree looked the same and every trail ended to the cottage.
I heard a woosh of wind pass me just by the ear. I swiftly turned around but it had already passed me by and entered the one place I never wanted to, the cottage. The door creaked open as I pushed it forward. It was dark. Seemed as if no sunlight ever shone in this sanctuary. I suddenly felt a cold presence behind me. I turned around and saw her.
She was smiling broadly at me. "Emily?" I whispered in concern. Her smile looked as if it was dragged from one ear to the other. It was fake. "Lilith. Thank you" She said still smiling. "I know you came here to bring me back but I want to stay." She said still smiling brightly. I was confused. This couldn't be happening. "Emily, snap out of it! This is not where you belong. Zilch and I do but not you" I told her firmly holding onto her cold arms. She shook her head still having that scary smile plastered unto her lips. "No! you should go. Am finally free!" She tried to say calmly but I could hear the growl. It wasn't Emily. "Zilch" I snickered. poison draining from my mouth as I uttered her name. She smirked then she dropped the act. "Why hast thou came hither?" She asked furiously. "For Emily" I replied with my lips trembling. I was terrified of her. "She's dead. Now leave or I take you too" She said sternly then sprung out her hideous wings and tail. She turned around to fly away but I dragged her back by her tail. "No!" I shouted. I got uneasy and detrimentally angry at her. I floated in the air and sprung out my dragon-like wings and tail. My eyes were burning red and my voice caused the entire cottage to fall down.
She feared me. She knew I was stronger. I held her by the throat and slammed her to the ground. She scrawled all over the floor trying to get away from my wrath. "Secka llama de-" "OK!" She pleaded to cut my spell off. I was about to end her haunting misery once and for all. I was choking her with a tight grip hoping to cut off her air supply. Her long black tongue slithered from her mouth as I squeezed her throat with force. She struggled for breath. "Ok! I will let her go" I finally let go of her. She stood up clearing her throat and spitting out flem. "You... Have developed... feelings for... them" She coughed but protested. My rage drained. I felt... bewildered. She was right! "I... I" "You have become one of them. You disgust me. Flee and never come back" she spat out more flem as she stared at me in disgust. I tasted to cry. She was disappointed in me. My own mother. "mother, am sorry" I just realized what I did. I couldn't help the shame.
"you betrayed me. You dear challenge me. I forsake you. You are cursed by the night" she growled and I was thrown in the air and landed on something..... Soft.
