Lilith's POV

I was stumped by the words from the chapter. Do I even dare to make a deal with the devil? Zilch wants me to so I have to give it a try. I read through the chapter several times to fully grasp its connotation. As I read, I knew for sure what my desire is. I took in a deep breath and slowly wrote my personal information on the contract below. I hesitated before I wrote my desire. 'To be a sex Goddess'. I smiled to myself just by imagining what it would be like to be a sexpert. I would be attractive and flirtatious, men would fall for me without question and I could take them from their women just by my sexy pace. I would be the envy of every girl. Oh! What a birthday wish come true that would be for me. After I finished day dreaming of how I could finally have Mr. Clarke as mine, I read the part that states I should rid my body of its clothes and walk 10 miles to where the Baphomet dwells. How should I know where he is? I suddenly remembered when I was young, Zilch used to walk naked out into the woods and return in 3 days time. 

She made a deal with the devil too. I wonder what her desire was. I stood and unzipped my dress revealing my naked body. I let lose my ginger red hair and stepped out of my sandals. I inhaled deeply as I opened the door and walked out into the forest. I brought a meter along to inform me of how many miles I have tread. '3 miles' I read on the meter. I sighed in exasperation. I began to turn back. I was ready to give up this puerile adventure. I suddenly heard a ticking on the meter. I looked at it and it read '20 miles' I was bewildered. As I looked up, I realize that I was lost in the forest. How far have I walked to? I knew for sure that I didn't pace 20 miles by turning back. Something brought me here. I began to panic. I heard faint steps coming from the woods surrounding me. "Who is thither?" I asked with trembling voice. "Fear not!" I heard a gruff voice reply. 

There was a shuffling in the bush where the voice came from. I walked over to it and something jumped out. It scared me so I fell to the ground. I looked up and saw a snake slither towards me. I looked at it in confusion. I have never seen a snake of red and black colour before. I stood up to leave. "Lilith Louise Hargreaves" I heard someone hissed. I turned around and just saw the snake and no one else. I became scared at the thought of being stalked. I ran as fast as I could from where I was. I stopped at a distance to realize that I had no clue of where I was. "You can run but you can't hide" I heard a hiss again. I looked down and saw the same snake. "Are you talking to me?" I stooped and asked it. "Who else?" It hissed and I screamed in terror. A snake is talking to me! I must be dreaming. "No. You are not dreaming Lilith. I am the Baphomet!" The snake proudly spoke. It all made sense now. That's why I was ordered to walk 10 miles. To meet it in person. "Correct!" It hissed again. "How do you know what I'm thinking?" I asked curiously. "I can read your thoughts." It stated matter of factly. I could not believe my ears, worse my sight. "I come to realize that you are about to back out of the deal" It said slithering around a branch. I was scared to answer. 

"No." "Don't lie to me Lilith!" It shouted angrily and I covered my ears. It was too powerful to tolerate. I cried and told him the truth. "You have come too far to back out now. I can make you a sex Goddess! Alex will say he loves you. Don't you want that anymore?" It bargained with me. I refused to answer. It got impatient and started to leave. "Where are you going?" I asked it. "To find another mortal who really wants her dream to come true because clearly that's not you!" It said as it started to vanish. "Wait! I will do it" I shouted after it but it was too late. I missed my chance to have my dream come true. Maybe it was for the best anyways. I cried on the way back to the cottage. Zilch must be so disappointed in me all over again. I took her gift for granted. I reached the cottage and threw back my clothes on and read through the chapter again. A tear stroke my cheek "Am sorry" I muttered. I tore the page from the book out of anger and crumpled. My phone vibrated from in my pocket so I dug it out. I slid across the accept option on the screen but remained silent awaiting the caller to speak first. 

"Lilith? It's Alex" I heard a sexy gruff male voice from the other line. My heart flew into my throat and I couldn't breathe. "Ye- yes" I stuttered. "Will you meet me tonight at the party?" He asked politely. "Sure. Where?" I asked sounding excited. "At the school's pool. Be there at 9 ok" He stated and I shrieked silently through the phone. "Happy birthday. I love you" He whispered before he hung up. I couldn't hold it in any longer. I screamed in anticipation. I have been waiting to hear those three words ever since I met him. I guess the contract worked! I unfolded the crumpled paper and kissed it numerous of times. "Thank you Zilch, Baphomet. Thank you amazing book" I screamed again then got ready for the party. This is the best birthday ever!
