Learning More About Quidditch
Oliver's teaching us about Quidditch now. Well, to be exact, he's teaching Harry, since I already know most things. Wanna come join us?
Oliver and Harry carried a trunk outside as I followed them. I asked why I couldn't help, but Harry said it was too heavy for me. I don't blame him, though. I'm only twenty kilograms, which equals to around forty-four pounds. That's so light! You might say, but however much I eat, I always remain the same weight I was since I was eight. Weird, isn't it?
Anyway, back to Quidditch.
"Each time has seven players. Three chasers, which we have Angelina Johnson, Katie Bell, and Liliana. Two beaters, the Weasley Twins. A keeper, me, and a seeker, that's Harry. There are three kinds of balls. This red one's called the Quaffle. Now, the chasers handle the Quaffle and try to put it through one of those three hoops. Liliana, Angelina and Katie will figure out some sort of strategy, which I'll tell them to share with you, alright?" I nod and he continues. "As the keeper, it's my job to defend the hoops from the opposing team's chasers scoring. With me so far?"
I nod as Harry answers, "I think so. What are those?" He points to two squirming chained down balls.
"Those are Bludgers. Nasty little buggers. But the only ball I want you to worry about, Harry, is the Golden Snitch." He hands Harry a walnut sized golden ball.
Harry lets me take a good look at it as he says, "I like this ball."
"You like it now. Just wait. It's wicked fast and damn near impossible to see."
"What do I do with it?" Harry asks.
"You catch it before the other team's seeker. You catch this, the game is over. You catch this, Harry, and we win."
The Snitch flutters out two delicate wings and jumps into the air. Harry and I keep an eye on it.
"Whoa/Wow," we say in both unison and awe.
