Chapter 13 || My first kiss went a little like this
"We need to practice at least once before we leave for the award show," Jeonghan exclaimed, waking up the rest of the dorm as he ran around, the nerves finally hitting him. When S.Coups had looked up from making the breakfast, he found Joshua stopping the nervous wreck that Jeonghan with a hug.
DK walked into the kitchen alongside a nervous looking Seungkwan who kept whining about the way he looked: terrible, which wasn't really true.
"Look, Seungkwan, I'm not your boyfriend; the person you should be asking these questions and complaining to!" DK exclaimed, taking a seat at the table which consisted of the hip hop unit and performance unit, Seungkwan following and taking a seat beside Vernon before he began asking all the questions.
That morning, the table was more lively than it usually was as everyone chatted their nerves away.
When S.Coups dished the breakfast for everyone, he smiled before asking, "Do my eyes deceive me? China Line, you're holding hands."
At the sudden outburst, Minghao blushed and averted his eyes and Jun just nodded shyly before looking at the other and asking something in Mandarin to which Minghao nodded and replied in the same language.
"Hyung, China Line is still shy about their relationship," Mingyu scolded the older before averting his gaze to Wonwoo who smiled at the taller boy, causing him to smile in return.
"They'll be comfortable if you give them time," Mingyu finished his scolding, placing an arm around Wonwoo's shoulder.
"Right, I'm sorry Minghao and Jun. Wait, so everyone is just..."
"Open about our relationships? Yeah, but only amongst the group. The fans and company may disapprove though," Vernon said, smiling at Seungkwan who had his head on Vernon's shoulder.
"Hyung, eat," Dino commanded softly, not meeting his gaze. Even though the entire group had figured out Chan's feelings for Seungcheol, nobody said a word and nobody bothered to help the maknae with his situation. They'd stopped trying after Chan had said that, on the beach, the older boy had made his feelings perfectly clear.
Chan had also tried to reassure them that he no longer had feelings for their leader, but nobody missed the crying from the performance team's bedroom when Chan went in for the nights.
S.Coups smiled at Dino as he told the maknae, "Don't worry about me, I'll eat after everyone else has their food."
"Speaking of everyone, where is Woozi?" DK asked, glancing around the table, finally noticing that everyone except Jihoon was there. And as all clichés go, the question caught Soonyoung's attention.
Noticing this, DK smirked before asking, "Did you two get into a fight? You seemed fine two days ago sleeping against each other."
When Soonyoung didn't respond, DK stopped speaking as he began to worry.
"Soonyoung, you guys didn't get into a fight, right?" Jeonghan asked, frowning.
In response, he shook his head.
"So why isn't he here?" DK asked, frowning.
"You know when we have shows or performances we don't see him until its time to leave," S.Coups reminded the group who suddenly nodded before going back to their conversations.
Soonyoung, however, found that he'd lost his appetite and was actually worried about his missing friend. Yes, Jihoon always disappeared before shows, but ever since yesterday morning when they woke up hugging each other and the pink haired boy had kicked Soonyoung out of the room, said boy had been skilfully avoiding his hyung.
"Excuse me," Soonyoung muttered before standing up and walking out of the room. He had no idea where he was walking to as he found himself exiting the dorm, but he continued walking as he noticed that the surroundings were rather familiar.
By the time he was standing outside the door of Jihoon's studio, he'd realized that he'd left the dorm precisely for that reason: to find Jihoon and make sure he was okay.
He wasn't even sure if the boy were there or not, but even so, Soonyoung opened the door only to be met with Jihoon's back. As usual, he was wearing his headphones and he was tapping his pen against the desk. Instead of writing like he usually did though, he was singing the words to the new song he'd most likely written and then Soonyoung realized that the boy was tapping his pen to the beat of the song. However, Soonyoung didn't know this song so it must have been the one he had recently been working on.
In that moment, Soonyoung couldn't help but think that Jihoon was utterly incredible.
But of course, Soonyoung ended up ruining the mood as he bumped into the chair which bumped the pot plant which only ended up crushing to the ground.
The smaller boy in his seat ended up removing his headphones and turning to look in the direction of the noise. When he saw that it was Soonyoung, he smiled, ever so slightly which practically killed Soonyoung inside.
"Noisy, noisy, Hoshi," Jihoon said, shaking his head as he unknowingly repeated the words he'd said when they were on lock down except this time, he used Soonyoung's stage name.
"Do you need help up?"
"No, I've got this. But since we're on the topic, what's wrong?" Soonyoung asked as he pulled himself to a stand, looking at Jihoon who's entire expression shifted until he was giving off his blank stare again.
"What do you mean? I always-"
"That's why I'm asking," Soonyoung interrupted in a whispered tone, crouching so he was face to face with Jihoon.
Soonyoung said nothing as the two stared in nothing but silence, each one waiting and hoping that the other would give in.
Soonyoung knew Jihoon didn't share much of his honest thoughts that tended to bother him with anyone, but this one question, he figured, wouldn't be a problem. That's like telling one secret out of a bucket filled of them.
And then, Jihoon blinked, making Soonyoung the winner.
"Now you have to tell me!" Soonyoung exclaimed excitedly to which his friend only nodded.
"Well...?"
Jihoon smiled and rolled his eyes at the boy's impatience before he began, "I just.. I do it because... I- I'm scared."
Soonyoung found that he was blushing as Jihoon stuttered and he nodded for his friend to continue, which he did.
"I'm scared that they won't like the song. If the song isn't good enough, it affects the entire group and I don't want that to happen. It would be my fault. If the song fails, the group fails and it would all be because of me."
"You and I, we hold their burdens together. You know you're not alone, Jihoon. We're in the same boat because if my choreography is terrible, it affects the entire group. If my choreography isn't good or causes the group failure, it will all be my fault."
"Look at us, holding the burdens together."
"Jihoonie?"
"Yeah-" Jihoon's eyes widened as he turned to face Soonyoung to speak properly. Instead of meeting face to face, Jihoon met something else entirely. He was beyond surprised as he came to the realization and continued to stare wide eyed at other boy's chest.
Soonyoung made the first of many moves. He did something they had never done before whether they were close or not.
He gave a feather light kiss atop the shorter boy's forehead.
And though it were light, it held so much emotion that Jihoon found his eyes closing as he leaned in slightly instead of pushing the boy away like he usually would.
A/N
Originally, I had made them kiss, but for the comp. I changed it and I don't feel much for changing it again.
