A/N: ...y'all don't play around. Okay, you win. The Cop From Busan will release in early summer instead of early fall since we hit the 350 vote goal. If we hit 400 votes before 2k reads, I will release 2 chapters instead of 1 on its release date. I hope you enjoy this long ass chapter, there are 3 sections and 6k words, so I put my whole Raveussy into this one. For anyone who cares, I will tell you about my experience at the Yoongi concert in the end note!

He swung.
The axe chopped the log of wood in half, Park huffing from the exertion. His muscles contracted as he raised the weapon again. This time, he went harder. He liked to pretend the wood was the Emperor's head.
The rebellion had a peaceful space behind their home. A few rebellion members Park didn't recognize pranced by. Y/n informed Park that the higher-ups were spreading the word that Park was officially part of the rebels. That meant he received less judgmental stares from the commoners. Not that he minded. At least he knew he was leaving an impression.
Park dropped the axe, rubbing his gloved hands together. New Theon had an unbearable climate. Even winter was warm. It was short, too. Fall, spring, and summer were disgustingly humid, the air clinging to Park and causing sweat to form whenever he so much as took a walk. It didn't help that his armor was as thick as his hair. Sure, it stopped a sword from stabbing his heart, but it overheated him quickly.
After taking a tiny break, Park picked up his trusty axe and chopped more pieces. He made them as small as he could, planning to craft arrows out of them. He noticed a few rebels slow their pace to monitor him. Park took a moment to give them a cocky grin.
"You're doing it wrong," a male voice said as Park raised his arms again. He snapped around, seeing Kastor poking at the dying fire that shot smoke into the night sky. "You're putting too much strain on your arms."
"If you tried this, you'd break every bone in your body. I'm pretty sure the Emperor taught me well-"
"The Emperor this, the Emperor that. Do you have any personality other than the Emperor and your hair?" Kastor asked.
Park tugged on a strand of his locks. "Depends. Does my hair look nice today?"
"Twenty-seven years old," Kastor grumbled as he stood, stomping over to Park and yanking the axe out of his hands. Kastor cracked his back, grunting as he did so. He proceeded to show Park how it was done. Park didn't see a difference. "Stay balanced. Keep your weight center. You'll strain your muscles, and that's the last thing you need."
"Glad to know you're looking out for me. Did you break anything? Any dislocations? Are your knees okay?"
"You're just as funny as Jin," Kastor said with a groan.
Park broke out into a wide smile. "His stupid puns are hilarious, so I'll take that as a compliment."
Kastor ignored him. Park went back to chopping wood the 'correct' way. By the time Park was satisfied with his pile, he sat near the dead fire and started carving arrows with his knife. Kastor sat across from him and observed. It was as if he was studying Park.
"Problem?" Park asked, shaping the wood as best he could.
"The Emperor taught you about weapons, but what about life?"
"What's to know about life that I can't see?" Park said with a dry chuckle, motioning to the area around them. "The Emperor sucks, New Theon is in shambles, and everyone hates me."
"There's more to life than that."
"You're right, there's also drinking. I'm pretty good at drinking heavily."
"There's also love," Kastor said, Park falling quiet at that. "And I don't mean that stupid fairytale bullshit." Park wanted to believe in that fairytale bullshit; it was a dream of his. Not that he was allowed to have dreams. "Love of places, people, things, activities. Life isn't about the castle or New Theon or even the Emperor. It's about loving."
"Is that what your life was about?" Park asked, Kastor picking his head up. "Loving your son, I mean."
Kastor seemed as though he wanted to slap Park for that comment. However, he deflated, his shoulders slumping. "Yeah."
They stayed quiet, Park finishing an arrow and setting it down. The Mimos chirped in the distance, mimicking a woman's voice. He didn't recognize who. He assumed it was a rebellion member. The rebels liked to use Mimos to communicate, letting each other know when they were coming home. Park wasn't privy to all the signs. He wondered if he ever would be.
"Oh fuck off," a male voice said from behind them. They turned, noticing Taehyung and Jungkook stumbling outside. Jungkook was the one who spoke, pushing Taehyung back. "I'm tired of your bullshit. Come talk to me when you feel like having a civil conversation."
Jungkook stormed away, holding the handle of his sheathed sword as he rushed into the forest. Park watched him go, the boy's thick head of curls disappearing a few beats later. Taehyung came over and sat next to Park. Great. Park was smooshed between two emotional people. Was there any way he could get out this situation? He pondered pretending to fall asleep, but Taehyung was already speaking before Park could slip away.
"Jungkook doesn't want to siege the farm with us," Tae said, grunting. "He's our most valuable asset. He's the only one who understands those stupid holograms."
"How does he? None of us went to school," Park replied, Tae whipping his head around at that. Park held up his hand. "The only school the Emperor sent me to was the school of 'how to decapitate people'. Believe it or not, I don't know how to use holograms that well."
"Jungkook went to the academy. He was a top student in technology. When he was old enough, he left, grew out his hair, and changed his name. Jungkook isn't like the rest of us."
"Yeah, he's smarter," Park said with a huff, kicking at the ground. "How'd he get in? Only raw talent is allowed into that hellhole."
"Physical strength. He was accepted since they thought he'd make a good guard. Turns out, he was better in technology. I mean, look at him, then look at us."
Park pictured Jungkook in his mind. The man with a bunny smile had muscles larger than any of the Emperor's men. His upper body strength was commendable. If his lower body had even half the power, Park imagined he'd make a perfect underling for Namjoon. Considering Namjoon had a similar physique, Park wasn't as surprised about Jungkook's status anymore.
Then, Park glanced at Taehyung and Kastor. Compared to Jungkook, they were twigs. Snapped twigs at that. Park could see Taehyung's bones poking through. Kastor was the same.
"Jungkook works out. He's the only one who has any muscle," Tae said.
"I'm surprised he does. Even if he exercises, you don't have much food." The two hung their heads at that. "What?"
"We give him the biggest portions," Tae mumbled. "Don't tell him, he'll hate it. We need his strength, even if it means we eat less. We all contribute a bit of meat to his portion."
"He's never noticed?"
"Jungkook likes to eat in his room, doesn't really glance at our food. We try to eat at different times just in case."
Park didn't know how to reply to that, so he didn't. Kastor didn't bother raising his voice either. The quiet carried on until Park couldn't take it anymore. When he was around others, prolonged silence made him deeply uncomfortable.
He got up and dusted himself off. "Well, this crowd is about as optimistic as my dead parents. If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go do literally anything else, but most likely drink and try to forget my own existence. Have fun doing... whatever it is you're doing," Park said, clapping his hands together as if that made his words better.
"Wait," Tae said, Park motioning for him to continue. "They want you there. At the farm siege."
"You're burning crops and taking away the Emperor's resources. What's there for me to do? You'd have more use throwing Jin on the team."
"No," Tae said, perhaps a bit too quickly. He cleared his throat. "You're a skilled fighter and our scapegoat."
"In case you're forgetting, the Emperor doesn't know I'm involved with you. If we keep taking risks, we risk my spot. It goes beyond information; this is about me too. I lose my life if the Emperor finds out. I don't mean my actual life, I mean everything I've ever known. I'd lose the castle, I'd lose my status, I'd lose my training: everything. I can't risk sacrificing that."
"You won't. You're going to distract the guards while they sneak through the back of the farm and light four fires. One for each corner."
"Four? You won't be fast enough for that-"
"Kastor's coming with," Tae said, Park stiffening. His heart froze with his body.
"What?"
"Jungkook, Hoseok, Y/n, and Kastor."
"What about you?"
"I'm keeping Jin safe and helping him film promos. I'll share the promos everywhere I can. Maybe with some luck, more people will stand up against the Emperor. Maybe even the City," Tae said. Park admired the hope in his tone, but it wouldn't matter.
"You're bringing an old man on a mission when you have able-bodied rebels waiting for a chance to-"
"I insisted," Kastor said, standing to cut Park off. "I used to work on the farm. I know the land, I can direct us. You do your job with distracting the guards and disabling the cameras, and we'll light the fires."
"You don't have to do this."
"Why not? I don't have much life left anyway."
Park frowned. "That doesn't mean you should waste it."
"Right, cause the murderer is in a position to lecture me about how to spend my time."
"I don't see the point," Park said, poking his tongue against his cheek. "You're doing nothing but endangering the operation. It's not just that you're old, but you're slow too. You'll slow the team down."
"I don't need you to dictate my life choices."
"I should when it risks other lives." Y/n's life was what he wanted to say, but he bit his tongue. "You need to think of the group."
"And you need to think logically. That farm is a maze, but with me, I can get us through. This isn't like the hotel. There won't be blueprints and maps and all those fancy gadgets you kids have nowadays," Kas said, narrowing his eyes. He took a step closer to Park. Park didn't back down.
"Then maybe we shouldn't do it at all. You're only going to slow the mission down."
"Well that's not your decision!"
The yell caught Park off guard. He couldn't tell if it terrified him or made him even angrier. "You don't need to do this!"
"I have to!"
"No the fuck you don't-"
"My son died because of that farm!" The uncomfortable silence came back, Park cowering away from the older man. "I contracted Yukaset from that cursed place and gave it to my son before I even knew I had it! I'm going to that fucking farm and burning it to the ground!"
Kastor shoved Park out of the way and rushed inside. The door slammed behind him, Park slumping down. He buried his face in his hands. Taehyung stayed put, sighing.
"I know you're worried, but Kastor-"
"Taehyung," Park said, dragging out each letter of the name. "I kind of like you. If you want it to stay that way, shut up." Taehyung did as he was told, Park rubbing his eyes for a few beats. Then, he got up, running a hand through his hair. "I need to go blow off some steam." By that, he meant he was going to sleep in Y/n's bed and hope he got decent sleep. "Convince Jungkook to stay on the team. If Kastor's really going, then we need Jungkook. Kas can't let his emotions get to him."
Taehyung nodded. Park took it as permission to leave. Unfortunately, he was wrong. "Park?" Tae asked, Park halting. "Do you really think he'll slow down the mission, or are you just scared he'll die?" Sweat stained the back of Park's neck as he stared at the door. It was twenty feet away at most. Park swallowed what he could.
Then, he left without answering.
┊ ˚➶ 。˚˚。➶˚┊
"Really?"
She grunted, Park chuckling and taking the covers off his head. He peeked up at her with a smile, licking his lips. She glared, but he ignored her gaze.
"Oh I'm sorry, did you want me to stop?"
"You're an asshole," she mumbled. Park tilted his head with a cocky smirk. She rolled her eyes. "Don't stop. Happy?"
"Very."
It was the morning after Park got yelled at by Kastor. He needed an escape. Y/n was just that. He wondered if he should feel bad about using her as an escape, but seeing as she herself said she needed one too, it seemed as though he didn't have to. Talking about his feelings made him want to vomit. He opted against trying to tell her what was wrong. It'd only make him feel worse.
Park went back under the covers and kept his face in between her thighs. He kissed her skin, going back up and placing her wetness on his tongue. He swirled it around and tasted every ounce of it. It was just as euphoric as sex, if not more.
Hoseok and Taehyung were spearheading their next plan: the farm. After, they'd rob the Emperor's vault and turn the tide of the rebellion. Ever since the hotel, they hadn't done much. There were riots on the streets, but guards shut those down quickly. He knew Y/n feared they were losing momentum. However, he also knew she enjoyed the downtime, even if she wouldn't admit it out loud.
Y/n pulled on the sheets, moaning softly while Park's tongue worked. A beat later, Park came back up, claiming her lips as his. They kissed for several seconds, Park parting and chuckling against her. This happened every time he got in between her thighs. He'd eat her out for a minute or two, then come back up to check if she was still alive.
"Wait," she murmured, him nodding and meeting her steady gaze. "You have to hurry, Hoseok wants to meet with me to talk about the plan."
"God dammit Hoseok."
He groaned, giving her a peck before diving under the covers and speeding up. A minute later, she had her back arched as several cries of his name left her mouth. Her legs trembled as he proudly laid beside her.
"You were louder than usual," Park said with a shit-eating grin.
She whacked his shoulder. "Shut up."
"If the others don't know, they do now."
"I hate you."
"Don't you ever get tired of saying that?" he asked, waggling his brows.
"I miss the old Park that decapitated people with a laugh."
"To be fair," he said, holding up his small index finger. "I still do that. That's actually my favorite part of the job. The more people I decapitate, the less people in New Theon. The less people in New Theon, the less social interaction I have to endure."
"I don't think I'll ever get tired of saying 'I hate you'."
"Alright miss second-in-command, I'll see you later then," he said, kissing her forehead before getting up. He put on his clothes, Y/n sitting and letting the covers move with her. They wrapped around her body, showing off the shape of her figure. The shape Park adored.
"Leaving already? I still have five minutes."
"That's cute, you think I want to stay?"
"You're hilarious."
"Who said I'm joking?" he asked with a sly smile, strapping his armor around his chest and putting his sword back in its proper place. "Don't think I care about you, princess. You're a petty asshole I'd love to shoot an arrow at."
"Just as romantic as always," she mumbled, grabbing her belongings and getting ready for the day.
Together, they prepared. Park didn't want to go to the meeting, but Y/n dragged him there. However, they didn't meet inside the house. They went into the forest. Park felt uneasy about leaving Shadow in front of the house, but Y/n promised him they'd be back before patrols came. Park knew their schedules. They preferred to stay near the junkyard and the farm to keep them safe. The Emperor abandoned the rest of New Theon. Park wasn't sure if he should feel grateful or terrified.
"This way," Y/n said as she guided him through the trees. He brushed his hand down the side of the wood, chuckling when some loose bark snapped and fell on his fingers. He toyed with the nature, refusing to let go until Y/n brought him to the center of wherever it was they were meeting. Park glanced at the sight. Then, he halted.
Jin, Taehyung, Kastor, Jungkook, and Hoseok were there. Kastor didn't make eye contact while the others did. They were gathered around a dying fire that had logs circling it. Taehyung and Jin sat on one, oddly close. Kastor and Jungkook sat on the farthest log while Hoseok decided to stand a little too close to the active flame. Y/n went to join him, leaving Park's side.
"Okay," Park said with a forced smile. "Let me tell you in advance: if this is a ploy to get me to talk about my feelings, I will slit all of your throats and feel no remorse."
"Wow," Hoseok replied, crossing his arms over his chest. "You think we care about your feelings?"
Park opened his mouth to get defensive. He shut it a beat later. "Good point. Let's talk about the plan."
Park sat as far from Kastor as he could, bouncing his leg and nibbling on his fingernails. Hoseok and Y/n stood in front of the fire that the trees hid the smoke of, Mimos chirping and repeating Park and Hoseok's words. Park's leg kept hitting the mud. The ground was soggy from all the rain New Theon got. Park begged mother nature to keep the skies clear for the day of the farm attack.
"We siege the farm as soon as possible," Y/n said, kneeling and drawing a makeshift map with her finger. "There's security everywhere. It's only one step down from the vault. If we can do this, we can do the vault. Park, how do you feel about disabling cameras?"
"Easy enough. As long as Yoongi's not there, I can do it."
"What if he is there?"
"Then I fake an emergency and have him leave the cameras unattended. Only problem is, you'll still be recorded. Make sure you wear disguises," Park said. "The Emperor hasn't made any moves against you after the hotel, but I can guarantee he will. Just because it's quiet now doesn't mean it'll always be that way. If I were to guess, he's looking for more evidence before making an official counterattack."
"So we're still not off the hook for the hotel?" Jungkook asked, Park snorting at that.
"Why would you be? You really think you can break into the Emperor's room and scale out unscathed? We need to be ready to vacate the town. Do we have any backups?"
"We can get to the outskirts or the Rocklands, but it'll make our lives much harder," Y/n said, finishing the map. "But let's worry about that tomorrow. For now, we need to siege the farm and set the Emperor back. This is important: we only burn one farm, not the new one they're building. When the farm is burned, we're going to hunt all day and get meat for the outskirts. Keep them well-fed while the Emperor struggles to get back on track with production."
"Meat isn't going to keep the outskirts fed," Park said.
Y/n snickered. "We don't share everything with you, pretty boy. We aren't using other rebels for this mission because they're occupied in the outskirts. They're building farms in preparation for this. We need to be more self-sustaining."
Park barely listened after she said pretty. He grinned. "You think I'm pretty?"
"Pretty annoying," Hoseok mumbled, Park shooting him a glare. Hoseok knelt next to Y/n and pointed to the center. "The goal is to burn the entire thing, but as long as we get half of it, we'll prove our point. Let's plan to burn these four points." He motioned to each corner. "The farm has torches, right Park?"
"Everywhere. We try to keep the farm away from electronics, so no holograms, only cameras."
"Then why do you need me there?" Jungkook asked, directing the question toward Taehyung.
"You're fast and strong," Tae said, but Jungkook brushed the answer off. "I'm serious. We need your strength and speed. I don't know why you're trying so hard to get out of this mission. The hotel was a success. We're making progress-"
"And it's still not enough!" Jungkook interjected, Park backing away and preparing to run if needed. "I haven't done enough! Don't you get it? This whole time, every operation relies heavily on me. If I mess up, it's over. Everything I've ever known is gone. I'll lose the last part of me I have left."
"So get out there and fight for it!"
Park wished he could fade away from existence. Jungkook and Taehyung argued for another minute, the others not moving to stop them. Not even Y/n.
"The farm," Park said, interrupting them. "We'll strike at nightfall. I'll go get the cameras. You'll have five minutes tops. Wait one minute after I leave, then get into your positions and light fires. Run away and stay in the outskirts for the night, don't let them track you here. Go to the Rocklands if you have to. Do I make myself clear?"
Jungkook and Taehyung didn't answer. They were too busy glaring at each other. Kastor wasn't even paying attention. Hoseok, Jin, and Y/n were the only three that cared. By the end, Y/n gave him a sad but comforting smile.
"Let's do it."
┊ ˚➶ 。˚˚。➶˚┊
The forest felt lonely.
Park stayed on Shadow, guiding her through the thick trees. Y/n held him, her body bouncing every time Shadow took a step. Park got used to feeling her arms on his. It still made him uncomfortable, but it was better than when other people touched him. Part of him wanted her to keep touching him. She was the only one who made him feel like a person. Like he was worthy of the hell they called life.
The others stayed behind Shadow, letting her do most of the work. While Y/n got the privilege of riding with Park, the others weren't so lucky. They were stuck walking to the farm. Their gear jostled on their backs. All of them had backpacks with weapons hidden in their clothes. Park could feel the handle of Y/n's knife jabbing his back.
"Hold up," Hoseok said, Park slowing to a stop. "Kastor, go left and see if you spot any traps. We don't have a map of this place, I don't want to go in blind. Jungkook, go right and do the same. I'll scout ahead."
The three went off to do their tasks, leaving Park alone with Y/n. She had her head pressed against his back. If they weren't about to siege the farm, he'd think she fell asleep.
"I have a question," she said, her voice hushed.
"Prying into my past again?"
"Maybe. Depends on what the answer is." He stayed quiet. She took it as permission to continue. "What's your biggest fear? Is it heights? Losing Jihyun?"
"Losing Jihyun is up there," Park said, clicking his tongue to make a 'tsk' sound. "But it's not my biggest. It's the Emperor."
"I don't blame you. Everyone's terrified of him. I imagine you most of all."
"I'm not terrified of him, really," Park said, clutching the reins tighter than before. "When I'm around him, it feels normal. Natural. As much as it hurts, it's nothing I'm not used to. It's here."
"Here?"
"Being away from him. The idea of going back to the Emperor terrifies me. Every time I take the ride to the castle, I feel paralyzed. It's not the Emperor I'm scared of, it's finally getting free only to have to go back to him."
"We'll free you and your brother soon. Maybe sooner than you think," she said. She came a bit closer. The feeling of her breath on his ear had him stiffening. He couldn't tell if he hated it or wanted more.
Y/n kissed his shoulder despite the armor there. Then, she kissed his cheek and held him. The two actions were small. They should have been insignificant. Yet, to Park, those two acts brought trembles to his body.
"Can you tell me about him?" she asked in a murmur.
"That's a bit broad. Ask a more specific question."
"Well, what's his name?"
"I've always just called him the Emperor. No one knows his real name, but we know his last name is Donovan. He's in his fifties, from what I can tell. Took over New Theon when he was twenty. He inherited it from his father. From what I've heard, his father was better, but not by much. He's the main reason New Theon went into starvation, but Emperor Donovan is the reason we're in war and poverty."
"I don't get it," she said, sighing. "Why do this? Why cause so many to suffer? What's the point?"
"He gets to live in the castle with servants tending to his every need while he beats guards like me into submission. That is if he hasn't poisoned them first. Think of it this way: why waste time, resources, and money taking care of people when you can scare them into doing what you ask? He reaps the benefits and barely lifts a finger. Why do you think we don't have schools? The more you hide the history of what used to be New Theon, the more citizens see this as the only New Theon there ever was."
"I'm surprised you know anything about the history of New Theon," Y/n said, Park snorting at that. "What?"
"Nothing, I just don't really know that much. I only know from textbooks I've found while scavenging the remains of all the towns we've burned. I've read about the formation of New Theon, almost three hundred years ago. Back then, we were a democracy. The towns, villages, and cities all had a say. There was one government... one people. Now there's just the Emperor and the ones who are too scared to fight."
"Not us," she whispered, her thumb rubbing over his chestplate. Her chin rested on his shoulder. He could feel her soft smile. "We'll take down that bastard."
Before he could reply, Hoseok came back. Kastor was a bit farther away, but he returned as well. Park made sure to avert his eyes from the older man. After Kastor came Jungkook, who didn't say anything. All he did was nod.
"We're good. The farm is right up here. Ready?" Hoseok asked. The bags under his eyes shined in the dim moonlight, his mask covering the lower half of his face. There were clouds blocking much of the sky, which had Park shuddering. Luckily, he hadn't felt any raindrops yet.
"Let's get moving," Park replied.
They did. They left, going to the farm. As soon as they passed through the trees, they made it to a clearing on top of a hill. It overlooked the farm, torches shimmering and giving them a perfect view of the land in the distance.
The farm was massive. There were workers using hoes and shovels to tend to the plants. Rows of green, amber, and cyan filled his eyesight. He didn't recognize many of the plants, but he knew they were all edible. Some of the workers pocketed resources to take home for their families. Park made a mental note to do the same for the rebellion.
There were fences set up around the gigantic area. There had to be at least two dozen rows of plants, if not three or four. Tiny houses built from wood and hay were set up. They were there to store goods. The largest house, the one closest to them and right down the hill, was the headquarters. If Yoongi was there, he'd be in that building. The cameras were inside, and although they didn't have the money to spare to put cameras in the trees, they had them on the fences and houses.
"Get into the bushes. Park, you go do your job. We'll wait one minute like you said," Hoseok said. Together, Hoseok, Jungkook, and Kastor split up and ducked. They hid, keeping their eyes on the farm as if scouting it. Y/n lingered perhaps a bit too long. She came a bit closer, kissing his cheek one more time.
"Thank you for doing this, Park," she said, her words dancing around the inside of his mind. Especially the name 'Park'.
He didn't have a chance to answer. She slid off Shadow and joined Jungkook in the bushes. His stare stayed on her even as he urged Shadow forward. He didn't take his eyes off her until he was mere feet away from the house.
Park departed Shadow, patting her coat and giving her a grin. Shadow neighed as he tied her to the pole next to the structure. He glanced at the door that was partly open, noticing a head of black hair inside. Park grunted, took out his flask, and took a swig. It might have been irresponsible, but he knew he couldn't do it sober. When he was done, he poured some in the grass for Shadow to lick up.
Park put the flask back in the pocket hiding under his armor, entering the building. Yoongi was there, monitoring the cameras all over the farm. There weren't as many as Park was expecting. If Park were to guess, they were reinforcing security in the City and moved their resources there. Their resources included cameras from the farm.
"Am I interrupting?" Park asked, Yoongi snapping his head around at that.
"The fuck are you doing here?"
"Nice to see you too." Park noticed the room was just as tiny and cramped as the one at the castle. There were two chairs and an array of screens. Eight total, meaning eight cameras. Park could smash the hologram separating the screens, but he figured that'd be hard to do with Yoongi sitting right there.
"That doesn't answer my question."
Park shrugged and sat next to him in the dark room. The holograms were the only light source in the vicinity. "We need to talk about the Emperor. Can I take two minutes of your precious time, grandpa?"
"You should be a jester."
"I'm too gorgeous to be hidden under all that makeup," Park said, putting his feet on the table. The heel of his boot hit the hologram, making the view of the cameras distorted.
"Move." Yoongi tried to pry Park's foot off the hologram, but it didn't work. Park stayed put, moving a bit closer to get a glance at the cameras. He couldn't see the rebels, mostly thanks to his foot blocking off the footage.
"I told you, we need to talk. Mind taking a walk with me?"
Yoongi rolled his eyes. "Do I have to? I don't feel like getting up."
"It couldn't hurt to touch some grass, Yoons," Park said with a smile. Yoongi flipped him off but got up, Park doing the same. They went outside, stepping away from the house. Alright, distraction time. All he had to do was keep Yoongi occupied for a few minutes.
"How is your emergency more important than watching the farm?" Yoongi asked.
"I don't know if it is." Park hated that he had to do this, but it was necessary: he had to talk about his feelings. "Listen, I've been thinking about everything that's happened, and I don't know how to feel about it. The Emperor doesn't see it, but Moros isn't going to back down. They're going to fight harder for the freedom of New Theon. As strong as our army is, Moros has the advantage. Sieging their mountain is impossible, but them coming to us is easy. All they have to do is go to the Rocklands and cross the bridge. We don't have that luxury."
"What are you saying?"
"I'm saying I don't want to hate you anymore," Park said, forcing his voice to sound shaky. "As much as I got the worst of it, you still grew up in the castle. Your teenage years were spent learning how to operate the Emperor's intelligence. It's the only life we know. If Moros risks that, we won't have anything left except each other."
"You're starting to sound like a rebel."
"Having a backup plan means rebellion? Mr. Min, I think you've been sitting behind that desk for too long. Come back to the real world, where people need to have backup plans in case their life goes wrong. I'm not saying we turn against the Emperor, I'm saying if the Emperor loses, we get out of here. Flee to the Islands and start a new life. I'm Commander Park, I'll pay off some guys to build me a private ship in case of emergency. If worse comes to worst, we'll get out of here. What do you say?"
"What about Namjoon? I can't leave Namjoon."
"He'll slit my throat if I so much as breathe this idea in his direction. How about we keep it between us. If things get bad, we'll tell him. If not, we'll pretend the plan never existed."
Yoongi set his jaw, staring at Park with an unreadable expression. "Park," Yoongi said, spitting the word out. Park winced from the sound. "I'll agree for now, but if I think you're bailing on the Emperor..."
"I'm not. All you need to know is-"
"Fire!"
The scream echoed through the air. Yoongi and Park whipped around, Park faking a look of terror as they sprinted toward the farm. They froze upon seeing the flames bursting through the night sky. Although the clouds overhead signaled rain was coming soon, the fire already did damage. There were fires from two sides. A few seconds later, a third and fourth lit up, Park gasping and stumbling back. He grabbed Yoongi's shoulder pad.
"Well don't just stand there! Get water buckets!"
Yoongi did as he was told, rushing away. Park stayed where he was, overlooking the crops that were fizzling to dust. He should be helping, yet he couldn't bring himself to. All he could do was stand there, repeating Y/n and Yoongi's use of his name. 'Park'. His last name. It was the name he went by since he was a teen, and the name he always thought he'd use. When Yoongi said it, it felt like a slap in the face. When Y/n said it, it felt off. Like it was foreign. It felt foreign to him. It made him sick to his stomach as his mind went numb with the thought. The one thought he never thought he'd have. It was about Y/n.
He wanted her to call him Jimin.

A/N: I had a chaotic time in the City. For anyone who doesn't know, I am from New York, but I do not live in the City. I'm actually around 4-5 hours away from the City. It was a chaotic journey, so getting to Queens to see the concert was insane. For starters, the bus was 30 minutes late, then the driver took two 15 minute stops for 0 reason. We (my friend and I) were almost late for the concert because of the driver.
We arrived in the City and were still 30 minutes away from Elmont AKA near Queens, where UBS is. We planned to take the subway there. One problem: neither of us know how a subway works. Actually, I lied, there are two problems: the train was supposed to leave at 7:20, and we got to the City by 7:15. So in five minutes, we had to run into Pennsylvania Station, find the Hempstead train despite never riding a train, and somehow get to the concert and our seats in the ten minutes we'd have after we arrived.
Despite my recent foot surgery, I ran my ass into that station and searched. I found out the train was on track 17. We go to the track area. There is no track 17. I ran to 15/16 because that was the closest. Nothing. Even better? Guess what I heard over the intercom.
"Last call for track 17 to Hempstead."
I thought we were screwed. We ran upstairs and I fell on the stairs because my foot gave out (it hasn't done any running since LITERALLY last year). I asked construction workers where track 17 was.
They pointed right behind us. It was right there.
We ran to track 17 and got on ten seconds before the doors closed. It felt like something out of a movie. So we got to the concert BARELY on time. We missed the opening film and got there just as Yoongi got on stage. It was such a fun time and he put his whole Yoongussy into it. Yes, I was at the concert where he acknowledged the barking by saying "Are you guys trained or something?" It was hilarious. I died of laughter and got it on video. I screamed "MIN YOONGI" at the end of every song.
The next day, we went back to the City and spent the day there since it's always been my dream to see NYC. We went to Line Friends, I spent 700+ dollars on merch in less than 24 hours, and then, we went to Port Authority to get back to our college. But there was one problem.
The bus got cancelled five minutes after it was supposed to show up.
At 6:50 at night, I had to scramble to somehow get back to campus before my friend had work the following day. I had to run around Port Authority for almost two hours trying to figure out what to do. I got stopped by two men asking for money and I wanted to throw them to Pluto since I WAS FREAKING OUT. I was on the phone with my father trying to figure out what to do.
So, instead of taking a bus back to campus, I took a bus to my hometown (my family's house is in Pennsylvania). The bus was full, but we pulled some strings to get on it. I got to my hometown, my dad picked us up at 11:30 at night, and we got back to campus around 12:15.
As fun as my trip was, I am traumatized by public transportation and will never take a bus again. Yoongi was hot. I got lots of videos and bought an Army bomb for myself.
Moral of the story: fuck capitalism.
