But who wouldn't turn around after hearing a forceful, aggressive cough coming from seats behind you.

As Baekhyun stared at the familiar eyes groggy eyes he had met with last night, heads were turning towards him and that included the professor- who had stopped in the middle of his lecture due to Baekhyun's abruptness.

It wasn't until Xiumin tugged on his friend's shirt that Baekhyun finally realized what he was doing; just standing by his chair his eyes glued to the person that sat behind him- a few seats away.

He cleared his throat before mumbling a sorry and returning to his desk.

Class ended smoothly after that, though there times when Baekhyun got distracted and attempted to take a peek behind him. When the bell rang, people hurriedly wanted to get out of the class.

Especially Baekhyun and the girl. Except, they had different reasons for their rush. Baekhyun wanted to meet up with the girl, while she actually wanted to avoid him.

Xiumin grabbed Baekhyun's shoulder stopping him from moving any further. Baekhyun knew what he was about to say, so he quickly turned around and faced his friend.

"Listen, I know you're trying to help me, but I gotta talk to her. I promise it'll be quick. Yeah?" He smiled lightly, in hopes that Xiumin wouldn't be upset.

"But Baek—"

"Thanks man!" Baekhyun waved as clutched his bag in hand and ran out the classroom.

Baekhyun didn't know if he was genuinely concerned, or if it was curiosity at this point that was doing him.

Maybe both?

All he knew was that he wasn't going to let this go easily.

Ignoring Xiumin, who was catching up to him, Baekhyun sped his pace, so that he could lose him and also to find the girl before she disappears.

Mina, he remembered; his mind traveled back to last night to the moment before the girl had stormed out of his apartment. Mina was her name.

By the time he reached the outside of the building he came from, the campus was already filled with college students.

"Shoot." He muttered as he glanced at the busy campus. How am I going to find her now?

"Yo, Baekhyun!"

Whipping to his left, Baekhyun found Lay running up to him.

"Oh hey," he greeted back, smiling a little. "What's up?"

"Just gonna go grab brunch. I was just about to meet up with Xiu and ask if he wanted to come since we both skipped breakfast this morning. Hey, when's your next class?"

"I guess," he checked his phone for the time, "in a little over an hour."

"Great," Lay smiled. "So how about count with us? We won't take too long."

"Umm," looking past Lay's shoulder, Baekhyun's eyes wandered through the crowd trying to find Mina. I really to find her first though.

And before he could come up with an answer, "There you are!" Baekhyun felt a hand on his shoulder. When he turned around he saw it was Xiumin. "Dude, why'd you run off like that?"

"I- uh..."

"Bro, you wanna go get something to eat?" Lay interrupted the two, and was looking at Xiumin this time.

"Me? Hell yeah, man, I'm starving. And since it was your fault," he lightly shoved Lay's side, "you're paying."

"What? Dude, we made a deal, remember? It was all on me last time, and now it's your turn. It's something in society we call, taking turns." Lay emphasized, mocking Xiumin,

"I'm not a moron!"

Lay scoffed as he tried holding back a laugh, obviously knowing that he's getting on Xiumin's sensitive nerves

"Take it back, you ass." Xiumin, using a strong arm, he head-locked Lay, also sensing the teasingness in his brother's voice.

Ignoring Lay's burst of laughter that was mixed with apologies that came out 100 times a second, Baekhyun's eyes roamed across campus once again; a little speck of hope that he will find Mina was still glittering.

Of course she's probably gone by now, he told himself, especially after she saw me.

He recalled how much he saw in her eyes in that split second. Her eyes were the only thing in view, other the few strands of hair that out of her hoodie; the same hoodie from last night. Her eyes: they were deeply black and were poured with some emotion he couldn't recognize.

Still gazing at the crowd, whiles his mind pondered, Baekhyun failed to realize that Xiumin and Lay were calling for him.

"Yo!" Lay waved at his face.

Blinking rapidly, Baekhyun adjusted his focus to the two of them. "Huh?"

"So what you do you say?" Lay said.

"I...uh—"

"C'mon man," Xiumin encouraged, as he hung an arm around Lay's neck. "This idiot is gonna pay for everything, might as well take advantage."

"Hey, I never—" Xiumin's arm tightened around Lay's neck. "Okay okay!!" The dancer half choked and laughed.

Baekhyun let out a light hearted laugh. They're exactly like brothers. "Yeah, sure, why not? I'd like to get to know the streets more too." He finally decided after thinking that it was probably no use looking for Amina right now.

"On the way to fill these stomachs!" Lay started to lead.

~

When they arrived, Xiumin slapped Lay's arm. "Why'd you bring us here? I hate coming to work when I'm not working."

"You know exactly why."

"For the 5 percent discount? 5 damn percent." Xiumin asked.

"Yup."

"You're freaking kidding."

"If I spent 100 dollars here, I'd save 5 bucks. You know what you could buy with 5 bucks?" Lay challenged as he lead them to a booth.

"But we're not spending 100 dol—"

"Everything Minseok. Everything. I know a guy who—"

"Alright, dammit." Xiumin cut off. "Just, whatever okay? Make sure to just get us something good, alright?"

Lay nodded in satisfaction, for he had won.

"I can't stand Lay and his weird ass stories." Xiumin muttered only loud enough for Baekhyun to hear. Baekhyun couldn't help but laugh. "I swear, man. I mean, just look at him! Who on earth doesn't untangle their earbuds when listening to music?"

Baekhyun's stomach started to tighten as he tried not to laugh too loudly at the situation. Finally calming down, he sighed. "So, Minseok?" He questioned, bringing up a new topic.

"Birth name." Xiumin answered. "I grew in China with the bastard standing over there," he pointed towards Lay, who was innocently waiting for their order. "And so, with me having to go to school and such, my parents thought it would be easier to switch my name to a chinese one."

"So Xiumin kinda just stuck even after coming back to Korea?"

"Yeah, nobody really calls me by my real name other than Lay, my close relatives and my mom when she's angry." He joked.

They continued chatting for a few minutes.

"Well—"

"Guys!" Lay interrupted, setting down the giant tray with food on the table. He ushered Xiumin to scoot over.

"What now?" Xiumin replied, also moving a bit to give Lay some space.

Lay smirked, almost looking proud like he had accomplished something. "I didn't pay a single damn penny."

Baekhyun laughed as he glanced at Xiumin's annoyed expression.

"I don't even wanna know what went on." Xiumin mumbled. "Just lemme eat. My stomach is digesting itself."

~

"PFFT!" Baekhyun tried holding in his laugh because he had water in his mouth.

"What do you mean I got lost?" Xiumin annoyingly glared at Lay.

"Dude, you don't remember because—"

"You're the foreigner here, I was actually looking for your ass."

"Hyung, listen—" Lay, trifling in his laugh.

"It's a because you're a brainless idiot. I mean, with an attention span like yours, who wouldn't get lost?"

Baekhyun threw his head back, still cracking up at the guys. In doing so, he managed to take a glance at the giant, clear, glass window. And what he saw, managed to suddenly shut his laughter down.

It's her.

Now turning his entire body, he continued to gaze at the window. He recognized the black hoodie and face mask from today. It really is.

She was talking to a taller man, suddenly pushed her harshly and walked off.

Baekhyun started cleaning his spot.

"Why the the sudden rush?" Lay asked. Both him and Xiumin were too distracted to notice Baekhyun's sudden change in mood.

"Uh, I remembered something I needed to do." I can't miss this chance.

"Wait, but—"

"Thanks for the food Lay! I promise to pay you back and take you guys out soon." His eyes shined as a genuine smile plastered his face, not really noticing that he just interrupted his friend because of his sudden excitement that he felt.

He threw his trash away and left.

Meanwhile, Xiumin just stared at the now empty spot. "How do you pay back someone who didn't spend anything on you?"

When Baekhyun was outside the door, he still saw Mina. This time she was looking right at him; a stare so bold yet so. . .

. . .lifeless.

Baekhyun was about to wave at her, but something inside told him not to. Instead they he continued to stand there in the cold. People passed by on the sidewalk, cars beeped busily on the wet streets, and the wind continued to blow making everyone's face feel numb.

A giant truck drove in front, blocking both of their views of each other, and went it was gone, so was Mina.

Baekhyun whipped around quickly to see if she had crossed the streets to meet up with him but only strangers were found.

Not again.

Baekhyun ran to the end of the street and continuously pressed on the button that allowed pedestrians to safely cross the street.

"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon." He kept on muttering. I just need to make she's okay.

From his spot he could see a familiar figure, running the opposite way.

Finally losing his patience, he decided to just cross the street anyway. After looking both ways, he began crossing, not noticing the car that was headed towards him.

Honking at the boy, the car it wouldn't be able to stop in time.

Before Baekhyun knew what was happening, he felt a weight that pushed him backwards into the sidewalk again. Someone was now on top of him, holding his shoulders tightly.

A crowd was about to form, but in just a few moments, it disappeared because people realized that everyone was okay.

Including Baekhyun.

The person quickly stood up, and glared at Baekhyun. "Dammit, are you crazy?!" It was Mina.

Baekhyun didn't know if the reason he was being quiet was because  she's really mad at him, or the fact that she's actually here.

"You were gonna cross the damn street without even looking." She waved at his face. "Are you even—"

"Thank you." He interrupted, and laughed nervously. "You're right, I wasn't looking. Thank you for saving me and for worrying." He smiled.

Mina raised a brow at him in confusion. Why is he taking this so lightly? "I-I wasn't worried." She scoffed. "I just repaid what I owed you."

"Repaired me for what?"

"For—" Mina glanced at him to see if he was serious or not. For some reason she was getting annoyed. "Never mind. Just... just know that we're even, got it?"

Baekhyun still didn't know what she was talking about. He doesn't remember her owing him anything. If he's right, he recalls just meeting her last night.

Mina saw the confusion was still there. "You know what, just forget it." She began walking away.

"Wait, I wanna—"

Abruptly turning back, Mina stopped her feet. "What is that you want? Why can't you leave me alone?"

"I wanna to have a talk."

"A talk?"

The boy nodded.

"With me?" She scoffed. "You're kidding right?"

Baekhyun shook his head. Please say yes.

Giving up, Mina sighed and looked up towards him. "You wanna talk? Fine. Let's talk then."
