Chapter Thirteen
Ashley's POV~
A small smile tugged at my lips, "Thank you Caleb. I needed that."
He hugged me even tighter, "Really, it's the truth."
I pulled away and looked at all of them, "You guys really are the best. Thank you so much."
Joe came up to me and hugged me. I laid my head on his shoulder.
"I'm so sorry." I whispered.
"You have no reason to be sorry. I love you." He whispers back.
"I love you too." I smiled. He hugged me, and I was at the point where I didn't want to let go. After everything that has happened within the past few hours.
Once he pulled away, we left for the hospital. Just so I could question this girl.
As I was walking in, Garcia called me.
"Hey, Garice. What do you have?" I greeted.
"Oh, Ash. This girl has a ton of stuff on her." Garcia starts.
"Alright, well can you tell me a name and send me her picture?" I ask.
"Sure doll. Did something happen?" She asks.
"Yeah. I'm currently in a hospital questioning a girl who attacked me." I inform.
"Oh my gosh! Are you okay? Are you hurt? Do I need to send the team?" She rambled.
"Garica, I'm fine, just sore. She's the one stuck in the hospital." I laugh at her rambling.
"What happened?" She asks.
"Let's just say she came at me with a knife, so she got shot above the knee. I did warn her, but she didn't stop." I inform.
"Oh, Ash. Anyway! The girl's name is Lillian Renyolds, the girl who threatened you. You should have her pic in a sec." Garica says.
"Thanks. I'll call you when I'm done." I say.
She hangs up, and I continue walking to the girl's room. The guys stayed out in the waiting room.
I came to a wooden door with her room number. I shakily grab the handle and turn it. A girl, with a brown-redish hair laid in the bed, the girl who attacked me.
"Hello, I'm SSA Ashley Stamper. And you are?" I greet.
She smirked, "Hailee Renyolds."
"Ms. Renyolds, you do realize the punishment of attacking an FBI agent." I say.
"Nope, because I'm just a 15 year old girl." She smiles sweetly.
"Don't even try to play innocent here, we have the tapes." I angrily sigh.
"But they didn't see my face, so how can you prove that it was me?" She asks.
I sigh, "Why did you attack me?"
"You stole my man!" She shouted.
"Excuse me?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah. I was gonna marry Joe, but you did. You took my future!" She screamed.
"God has something in store for you. You're still young, you just have to patient." I say, calming her down.
"Like God had anything for me?" She scoffed.
"Do you believe in God?" I ask.
"No. Why? It's not like he shows himself. Does he do good? Does he do bad?" She rambles.
"Hailee, listen. God gives miracles in deguise, and He tests your faith. After I turned eighteen, everything went downhill. My husband saved my life. God tested my faith and sent me a miracle. You just have to trust Him." I explain.
"Joe saved your life?! I wish you weren't even alive and I wouldn't be in position!" She yelled.
"Honey, you need to calm down." I calmly say.
"No! Don't tell me what to do!" She screams.
Having enough, I just got up and walked out.
I walked to the waiting room, where my family was waiting for me. I tried my best to keep my composure, and try not to cry. I wouldn't wish that someone had died or that they weren't alive. I hope that God shows her love.
I plastered a smile onto my face as I walked out. Joe seen me and smiled, he took one look into my eyes and his smile fell. He knows me too well. He immediately got up and met me in a hug. I wrapped my arms around him and laid my head on his shoulder.
"What happened?" He asks.
I took a deep breath before saying, "She wished that I wasn't alive and that she would marry you and wouldn't be in this position."
"She said that?" He looked shocked.
"Yeah. I tried to tell her that God has something for her. That she's still young and she just has to patient." I sigh.
"Hey, you tried and that's all that matters." He comforts.
"I told her thar after my eighteenth birthday everything went downhill, and after I met you, you saved my life." I start.
At this point I was on the edge of tears.
"Hey, it'll be okay. I promise, it will." He whispers.
"She wanted me to die." I whimpered.
"Hey, shh. I don't want you to die, you have four people right here who didn't want you to die." He explains.
I took a deep breath and wiped my tears. Alan, Chad and Caleb walked up to us.
"We should probably get back to the hotel." Chad suggests. Everybody just nods.
Joe took my hand and we followed the guys. Once we made it to the hotel, I walked to Joe and I's portion of the room and laid on the bed.
I just laid there, I just wanted to be alone. At this point my body was on fire, my body hurt from head to toe. The bruises forming on my side and stomach. My fists were scraped.
"Baby?" Joe asked as he walked in.
"Yeah?" I responded.
"Are you okay?" He asks.
"I guess, my body hurts." I replied, "And I'm sick and tired of this."
"I'm sorry, but we'll get through this." He promises.
"I know we will, but right now." I sigh.
"It's okay. None of us is hurt, well seriously. But anyway, our nieces want to see you." He says.
"Alright, I'll be there in a second." I whisper. I got situated to pull myself off the bed.
"Here," Joe said, sticking out his hand for me to take. I happily took, and he helped me up. He quickly kissed me, before we walked out.
"Hey, here's Aunt Ash." Alan smiled, talking to his family. Joe pulled a chair up at the table for me, next to Al.
"Hi, girls." I smiled, as the screen was tilted towards me.
"Oh, Ashley. What happened?" Brycie asks.
"Oh, I just got hurt. I'm fine, really." I answer.
"We miss you!" AJ pipes.
"I miss you too princess." I say.
"Why's aren't you here?" Presley asks, pointing at the floor.
"I'm protecting your Daddy, Uncle Chad, Uncle Caleb, and Uncle Joey." I replied.
"Are they okay?" AJ asks.
"Yes. They're okay, I promise." I laugh.
"When will you get home?" Rowe asks.
"Soon, I don't know when. But I'll be home soon, I promise pumpkin." I smile.
We all talked for a while. I kind of forgot all my problems. I looked at the three girls, and I wondered how something so innocent can become something so hurtful.
"Hey, Ashley." Brycie started.
"Yeah?" I answered.
"Text me sometime tonight." She said.
"Okay, I will." I promised. Then they hung up. I got up and walked to the fridge, grabbing a bottle of soda.
Joe had followed me. He wrapped his arms around my waist, scaring me at the moment.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He whispered. I sat the bottle on the counter and turned to him.
"Don't be sorry, I'm fine." I smiled.
"What were you thinking about? Just a few minutes ago." Joe asks.
"I was looking at the girls, and I was wondering how something so innocent and pure could become something so hurtful." I explain, "I see evil things everyday, and I wonder the same thing."
"They just don't see the good that God gives." Joe answers.
