Chapter Seven

•Chapter Seven{Concert Shenanigans}•

Ashley's POV~

Even though I'm an FBI agent, I felt unsafe outside with the guys. Just with all the screaming fans. They make me uneasy. My grip tighten on Joey's hand and I went pale. My natural instincts got the best of me, they've taught us in FBI; to always trust our instincts.

"Babe, you okay?" Joey asks, as he noticed what was going on.

"Hm. Yeah, I-I'm fine." I replied.

Joey turned to me as we reached their dressing room, "Are you sure that you're okay?"

"I'm fine. I promise, just my instincts get to the best of me." I reply, kissing his cheek. "I promise."

"Okay. You'll tell me if something was wrong, right?" He asks.

"Yes. I promise." I sigh.

"I love you. You know that, right?" He smiles.

"I love you too." I whisper. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me closer to his body. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he hugged me. He pulled away and gave me a quick kiss, before having to get ready for sound check.

Once they were ready, I followed them to the stage and watched them, even there was security everywhere; as usual.

"Alan! The mics are too tall." Joey whines.

"We're too short." Caleb whines. I walk up there and readjust the mics, so they would stop whining.

"Thanks baby." Joey smiles. I gave him a thumbs up as I walk off the stage. I continued to watch as they did their sound check, went through the equipment, everything.

Once everyone started to file in, I went beside the stage. Prayed with the guys, and gave them hugs. I kissed Joey on the cheek, "Good luck!" I cheered. They smiled and did their show.

"Good Evening, Washington, D.C.!" Alan yelled into the mic, in response the crowd screamed as well.

They sang, had a good time, did a prayer session. Everything they normally would. Once they came down off the stage, my sweaty husband gave me a hug and a quick kiss. I followed them back to their dressing room. Playing on my phone as they got ready for the meet and greet. Deciding that I was a bit hungry, I went to the front of the complex to the vending machines. I called to the guys before I walked out, "I'll be back."

"Okay!" They called back. I went to the machines, and bought a bag of chips and a soda.

I thought to myself, 'This isn't the diet I should have. Oh well.' People had already started lining up for the meet and greet. Some noticed me as Joey's wife, others saw me as the person who got to enter the building before they did.

I walked up to the line and talked to the girls who called my name out.

"Oh my gosh! You're Ashley Stamper!" A blonde, teenage girl squealed.

"Yes, I am. And you are?" I politely ask.

"Sara." She smiled.

"Nice to meet you Sara." I smiled back.

"You're such an inspiration!" She squealed.

"I am?" I giggled.

"Yeah! You're soooo brave. Joining the FBI, just to save lives. Doing a job, that most women wouldn't do!" She rambled.

"Well, I'm glad that I'm an inspiration. Look, I gotta go, but I'll see you later. Okay?" I smiled.

"Okay!" She cheered. I walked off back to the dressing room. I laughed to myself as soon as she was out of earshot.

I met security outside the door. A different security guard. I pulled out my ID, showing my badge, "Ashley Stamper."

He moved and let me in. The four guys sat on the couch, waiting to be escorted to the front. Joey jumped up as soon as he saw me, "Hey, baby. What took so long?" He asked.

"I was talking to a fan. She noticed me, and I was chatting. She said I was an inspiration." I smiled, happy about what the girl had said.

"What did she say?" Caleb asks.

"That I was brave doing a job, that most women wouldn't do." I explained.

"You never have done things the easy way." Alan laughs.

"I believe that in order to get what you want, you have to work for it." I smile, opening my bag of chips. Each of the guys stole one from the bag. Then Joey stole my soda and took a drink. "Hey! That was mine." I whine.

"And I was thirsty." He smiles.

"You're lucky I love you. All four of you." I sigh.

"Love you too, baby." Joey smiles.

"Time to go!" A guard demands. They all hop up and we walk off.

I stood behind Joey at the meet and greet. I took most pictures, and stayed out of the way. We sat and stood there for about an hour, until Sara, the girl I was talking to earlier, came up.

"Sara," I smiled.

"Ashely! Alan! Joey! Chad! Caleb!" She squeals. She got autographs from all the guys and a photo. I was going to take it but she insisted that I be in the photo as well.

About another hour, the meet and greet was over. I noticed all the security by the women's restroom. I went over to see what was going on, "Excuse me. Can you tell me what is going on?" I ask.

"Sorry ma'am, but I can not." The guard replies.

"FBI, SSA Ashley Stamper." I say, flashing my badge.

"FBI?" Another guard asks.

I smiled, "Yes sir."

"Alright, a girl was found murdered." The first answered.

"How? You know what, can I just look at the body and the scene?" I ask politely.

"Sure." He said, letting me under the tape. The scene looked too familiar. Like the case we're assissting in North Carolina. Purse under the sink, clean crime scene, and strangulation as cause of death. Told by the bruising around the neck. Easy to tell, really.

"Excuse me, may I call my boss. This looks too familiar." I ask.

"Uh sure." He answers.

"Thank you." I smiled. I pulled put my phone, hoping Hotch would answer.

H- Hello, Agent Hotchner.

M- Hey, Hotch. I think we have a case.

H- What do you mean?

M- That case in North Carolina. I have a murder in D.C. Same MO, same scene, same everything.

H- It's not serial. Only thing connecting is the MO.

M- They could be traveling. Forensic Counter-Measure. Going over state lines.

H- I'll talk to the director, and the Sheriff at Charlotte.

M- Thanks Hotch. I had a bad feeling about this.

H- You're doing great. Using what the FBI taught you.

M- Thanks Hotch, for trusting me. I'll talk to D.C. Police.

He hung up and I walked outside. Started to talk to the guard.

"Is the DC police on their way?" I ask.

"Yes. Ma'am." The guard replies.

"Thank you." I smiled. Joey walked up to me, and wrapped his arms around me.

"Hey baby. What's going on?" He asks.

"Exactly what I was afraid of." I sigh.

"Another?" He asks.

"Yeah." I answer.

"It's okay. You'll catch them. I know you can." He smiled. I turned around and smiled at him. He leaned in and captured my lips with his.

I smiled, "Thank you."

"For what?" He asks.

"For everything. Supporting me, loving me, understanding me, and putting up with me." I whisper.

"I do it all because I love you. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you." He smiles.

"I love you too." I smile, kissing his cheek.

"Excuse me. Are you Agent Stamper?" Someone asked.

I turned around was met face to face with a tall man, dark hair and dark eyes. I smiled, "Yes sir. How may I help you?"

"I'm the Sheriff. D.C. Police. I was told you wanted to talk to me." He replied.
