Chapter Forty-Two
Ashley's POV*
When I woke up the next morning, I realized that it was somewhat late. Joey, and both his parents were still asleep.
I just decided to get up and get ready for the day. After I got dressed, I went downstairs and made a small breakfast. Just as I sat down, someone knocked on our door.
I sighed and got up to answer. Kelsey greeted me.
"Hey, I need your help." She starts.
"Sure. What do you need?" I ask.
"I need to tell Caleb something, but I don't know how. I can't keep this from him for to long." She sighs.
"Come in, and I'll help." I nod.
"Is Joey awake?" She asks.
"No, he's still asleep, along with his parents." I answer.
"Good. This has to stay between us for now." She demands.
"Of course Kels." I nod. I invite her in, and she follows me to the kitchen. "So, what's up?" I ask as I sat down.
"I'm pregnant." She tells me.
"Kelsey, that's great!" I smile.
"Thanks. I just don't know how to tell him." She mumbled.
"Call him. Or you can come with Joey and I when we go back." I suggest.
"Could I? I wanna tell him in person." She asks.
"Of course." I nod.
"Thank you." She whispers, hugging me.
"Not a problem, Kelsey." I smile. "I'm glad that I could help."
"So, let's talk about your baby." She smirked. "Details."
"I'm having a boy. His name is Arlo Donald Joseph." I start.
"Awe!" She squeals.
"We chose Donnie as the Godfather." I finished.
"Well, I wanna talk to Caleb first, but I want you and Joey as the godparents." She smiles.
"Kelsey, but with my job-" I start.
"Stop." She interrupted. "Nothing's gonna happen to you. Stop thinking like that. You're gonna live happily with Joey and raise that baby."
"I know, but I don't what will happen." I sigh.
"Stop." She demands.
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I'll be the godmother." I nod.
"Good. When are you and Joe heading back?" She asks.
"In two days." I answer.
"Okay." She mumbled.
"Now, let's talk details on yours." I smirk. "What are you wanting?"
"I don't know. A girl maybe." She shrugs.
"Our babies can be best friends. Kelsey!" I squeal.
"Just like us!" She grins.
"And if you have a girl, maybe our babies can date and get married when they're older." I giggle.
"Woah, that's a little far into the future. Don't you think?" She laughs.
"Okay, maybe a little." I snicker.
"Hey! Let's go shopping." She suggested.
"Okay. Give me five so I can change and tell Joey." I start.
"Five exactly. Go!" She shouted. I shook my head and laughed.
I went upstairs as fast as I could. I changed into a simple, gray shirt; and a pair of faded blue jeans with my black sneakers. I quickly braided my hair.
"Joey, babe." I gently shook him.
"What?" He groans.
"I'm going shopping with Kels. I'll be back later." I inform.
"Okay." He nodded. He sat up long enough for me to kiss him.
"I'll have my phone. I love you." I whisper.
"I love you too. Have fun." He mumbles. I laughed and unplugged my phone from its charger. Then quickly walked back downstairs.
"I have to say; you are seriously one of the most cutest pregnant woman." Kelsey smiles.
"Thank you, but so will you." I smirk.
She groans then laughs. "But you were pregnant before me." She points out. "But boy, that baby has grown."
"I know! I feel huge." I sigh, looking down at my bump.
"No, you're not. But you're showing." She nods.
"I know. That's why Joey and I announced it last night to everyone." I explain. "I didn't want someone else posting it as a rumor."
"I understand." She mutters, grabbing her keys. "We're going to the mall."
I rolled my eyes as I followed her to her car. She turned up the radio as we got in. A Tori Kelley song came on, and Kelsey busted out the lyrics as she drove.
Once we arrived at the mall, Kelsey sent me a smirk. I laughed, "What are you planning?"
"One; we're shopping for your baby boy. And two; you're gonna help plan a way to tell Caleb." She starts. "How'd you tell Joey?"
"Well," I trailed off.
"Well," She repeated.
"It was after Joey and I made up, and I just like blurted it." I shrug.
"Oh." She mumbled.
"Yeah, but I have a few ideas in mind." I smirk.
"Uh-oh." She snickered.
"Let's go." I laughed. I got out of her car and I followed her into the giant building.
I sighed as she dragged me to a clothing store filled with babies clothing. Kelsey had a giant grin on her face. I smiled as my eyes landed on a Dallas Cowboys jersey onesie.
"Ashley!" Kelsey squealed, holding up a little leather jacket.
"That's cute, but look at this." I grinned, holding up the onesie. Her eyes widened.
"That's perfect way to tell Caleb!" She smiled.
"Here," I said, tossing her the onesie. She smiled and clutched it against her body.
"Now, since I will be Arlo's favorite aunt, I need to spoil him." She started. She held up a dark blue onesie, with a truck and 'My beautiful aunt bought me this' written on it.
"Kelsey," I smiled, "This is why you're my best friend."
"I know." She grinned. She grabbed the onesie she showed me and kept it in her arms.
"Kelsey!" I called. Her head popped up as I held up another onesie. This one was white saying, 'Ladies. I have arrived'.
"Oh my. Ashley, you have to buy that. It's adorable." She squeals. She holds up another one.
It was also white, but said 'I'd flex, but I like this onesie'.
"I'm buying it." I grinned. My eyes landed on another. It was navy blue with 'Sorry ladies. My daddy's taken.'
~*~*~
After we were done shopping, Kelsey came back to my house with us.
Joey sighed when he saw all the bags. Just the bags I bought, because Kelsey was taking her's home. Even the ones she bought for Arlo, claiming she was throwing a baby shower for me.
"Babe, what did you buy?" Joey asks as took some of the bags.
"Clothes." I answer.
"For who?" He asks.
"Arlo." I mumble.
"We don't have anywhere to put them. We still have to plan the nursery." He sighs.
"I know and I'm sorry, but they were all so cute." I pouted.
"And since, I'm Ashley's best friend, I'm planning the baby shower. So, Joey wanna help?" Kelsey smirks.
"Sure." He shrugs.
"Awesome!" She grins.
I walked upstairs with the countless bags on my arms. I just placed them in the room we were planning to use as the nursery. Joey followed me and placed the bags next to the others.
"How much did you spend?" He asks.
"Me or Kels?" I smirked.
"You." He replied.
"About 150, maybe less." I responded.
He took a deep breath and shook his head. "Ashley, baby, I love you, but really?"
"I'm sorry, but I found a really cute onesie. It's blue and says, 'I'm sorry. My daddy's taken'." I smile.
Eventually his lips curl into a smile. "I can't stay mad at you for something like that."
"And!" I grin, "I bought a white onesie and it has a guitar. So when you hold his arm out, it looks like he's playing it."
"Babe," Joey starts.
"I thought of you, and your musical baller." I smirk.
"This is why I love you." He whispers, wrapping his arms around me.
"I love you too." I smile, kissing him briefly.
"You're a great mother." He mumbles.
"And you're a great father." I whisper.
