Chapter Fifty
Ashley's POV~
I helped Joey pack late that next night. He promised Kane that we'd be there, and be there for church on Sunday.
I was excited honestly, I was ready to be back in God's house.
"Babe, you ready?" Joey asked.
"Yeah." I nodded, zipping my bag.

That next morning, Joey and I were heading to church, with Kane tagging along.
"So, how was y'alls weekend?" Kane asked as we walked into Crosspoint.
"Amazing." I smiled.
"Well needed." Joey joked.
Joey laced our fingers as we walked to our normal seating. Donald meeting us there. "Hey, bro, Ashley." Donald grinned.
"Hey," Joey replied, hugging his brother.
Donald smiled at me as he and Joey pulled back from their hug. "Wow, look at you!"
I smiled back and looked down at my pregnant belly. "I know. I feel huge."
"You look good for a pregnant woman." He complements.
"Hey, bro. That's my wife." Joey joked.
"Thank you, Donnie." I laugh.
"Well, Caleb and Kels are on their way, then once service starts, we have to head up." Donald informed his brother.
"Alright, that's fine." Joey nods.
"You'll do great baby," I smiled.
"Always for you." He grins, kissing my cheek.
"Guys, we're in public." Donnie teases.
"I will kiss my wife on the cheek if I want too." Joey stated.
"Joey, babe, it's fine." I snicker.
"I love you," he whispered.
"I love you too." I smiled.
"Hey, guys." I heard Kelsey say. I turned around was met with my pregnant friend.
"Hey Kels, Caleb." I greeted.
"So, I heard you went on a romantic weekend trip." She smirked.
"I did." I nodded.
"How was it?" She asked eagerly.
"Amazing." I answered. Kelsey turned to Caleb with a pleading look.
"Please, Caleb." Kelsey begged.
"I don't know, possibly, babe." Caleb answered.
"So, how's the little one doing?" I ask.
"Good. As of right now, according to the heart beat, it's a girl." Kels smiled.
"Yeah, but you can't always rely on that. If so, then Arlo should be a girl too." I laughed.
"I hope it's a girl." She shrugged.
"You've still got about 10 weeks until you know for sure." I smiled.
"What was it like when you were told that you're having a boy?" She asked.
"Amazing. Like nothing else mattered, and that I was going to be a mommy to a beautiful little boy." I grinned.
"You're going to be a great mother." Kelsey complemented.
"Thank you, and so will you." I nodded.
A friend of mine came up to me. She smiled as she saw me, "Ashley!"
"Hey, Madison." I greeted.
"Oh! When's the little one due?" Madison asked.
"He's due in January." I answered.
"Oh! I didn't know you were pregnant." She gasped.
"I'm 23 weeks, Tuesday will be the start of my 24th." I informed.
Madison nudged Kelsey's shoulder, "I heard that you're expecting a little one too."
Kelsey smiled, "I am."
"How far?" She asked.
"I'm in my 8th week." Kelsey answered.
"You two are both going to be amazing mothers." Madison grinned.
"Thank you." Kels and I said together.
~*~*~
After the service, Caleb, Kelsey, Donnie, Joey and I went out to lunch, like we normally do.
"So, how was my nephew during the service? Praising the Lord yet?" Donnie asked.
"Most definitely." I smiled.
"What are y'all doing for the holidays?" He asked.
"We're going to Ohio for Thanksgiving, but for Christmas, we have to stay." I answered.
"She'll be too far along to travel. Doctor said after 32 weeks she can't go anywhere past 2 hours." Joey explained.
"Yeah. Ohio's already a five hour drive." Donnie nodded.
"And with Ashley have to use the bathroom every 10 minutes it'd be a 7 hour drive." Joey snickered.
"Hey! When you have a five pound baby sitting on your bladder, come talk to me." I mumbled.
"Anyway," Kelsey laughed, "Do you guys have a nursery planned?"
"Not exactly, but I was thinking an Ohio state Buckeye." I smiled, glancing at Joey.
"That's the way to go!" Donnie shouted.
"As you can tell, Ohio state just runs in the family." I snickered.
"I think Caleb's wanting a Dallas Cowboys theme." Kelsey laughed.
"I wouldn't be surprised." I giggled. Caleb nervously laughed and blushed.
"I can't wait to my nephew. I wanna hold him, and then I can't wait for my baby. Ugh, they need to hurry up." She groaned.
"Trust me, it all goes by so fast." I smiled, "So, y'all got names yet?"
"Not yet. We're still thinking." She shook her head, "And don't forget, I'd love to watch Arlo while you work."
"Of course." I grinned. It went silent as our waitress came out and took our refills. I sighed and looked down at my large stomach, "Can't you be still for an hour? I get that you want to move, but please for mommy."
"She's going crazy." Donnie joked.
"Hey! Your nephew won't stop squirming. I just want to eat in peace." I whine.
Joey smiled and placed his hand on my belly, "Hey, little guy. You better behave for your momma." He whispered.
The baby squirmed just a little before relaxing. I sighed, "I swear, Joey, you work miracles."
"Yeah. I do. We made one." He whispered.
I gently swatted his arm, "Knock it off."
"What I'd do?" He asked innocently.
"I swear if our son is like you, we're in trouble." I laugh.
"You've got that right, sister." Donnie snickered.
"I'm teaching him piano." Joey stated randomly.
"What?" I asked, looking at him.
"I wanna teach him how to play piano." Joey repeated.
"Babe, we don't have a piano." I said.
"So?" He shrugged, "I have my keyboard and we could always get one."
"Leave it to Joey to have all the ideas." Caleb laughed.
"No. I'm being serious. I wanna teach my kid to sing and play." Joey sighed.
I took his hand and kissed his cheek. "It's okay. I'm perfectly okay with you teaching our son."
Joey's frown slowly turned into a smile. "You are?" He asked.
"Of course. I think music is a great talent." I nodded.
Throughout the afternoon, we continued to talk and Joey's smile only grew.

Ugh. Super cliché ending... Anyway, hopefully the next chapter will be more fun and playful.
