Chapter Fifteen

Ashley's POV~

Joey and I sat in the sand at Winthrop Beach. My head was resting on his shoulder as he held my hand.

"Don't you think it's a little cold for the beach?" I ask.

"I dunno." He replies.

"It's only March." I laugh, "but, I'm not complaining."

"I'm not complaining either." He whispers.

I looked at the ocean, blue as can be, and watch it collide with the sky. It was absolutely breathtaking.

"This is absolutely beautiful." I say.

"Not as beautiful as you." He smiles.

"Okay." I mumble.

"Really, you are. Inside and out, I'll even tell you everyday." He promises.

"I feel so guilty." I mumble, just wanting to get this off my chest.

"What?" He asks, turning to me.

"I feel so guilty." I repeated.

"Why?" He asks.

"I shot a young girl." I whispered.

"Hey, it was self defense. You were protecting you and everyone at the venue." He explains.

"But, that girl might never walk correctly because I shot her." I sigh.

"Hey, look at me. You're doing your job. Protecting everyone, especially when times get tough." He explains again, "You're doing so great. You're so brave, especially when you're stressed. Somehow, you manage to still do your job."

"I just don't get it. Sometimes, I hate myself. I hate the fact that I'm hurting people. I just want to be someone's hero. To be that person that people look up too. I hate that I have to hurt others to save possible victims." I sigh.

"Do you love your job?" He asks.

"Of course. There's things that I don't like about it, there are things that I like too." I explain.

"Okay, so what so you like about it?" He asks.

"Well, I love the fact that I'm saving people. I'm became a role model for a girl. I'm helping to rid the world of evil. Mainly, I'm becoming a light, in a world full of darkness." I smile, naming everything that I love.

"That you are. You're saving more lives than you can imagine. Trust me. You're doing something that God wanted. He's using you for something great. And if we ever had a daughter, I would want nothing more than to have her turn out like you." He smiles.

"You have no idea how that made me feel. You're my blessing in disguise." I whisper.

"I'm your blessing, and your mine." He smiles.

"When we do have children, they're gonna be so blessed that you're their father." I smile.

"When?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah. You said 'if', and I said 'when'." I sigh.

"Hey, baby." He whispers, lifting my head up.

"Hm?" I ask, suddenly becoming hurt.

"Hey, I didn't mean it like that." He explains, "I love you."

I smile a bit, "I love you too."

He leans over and kisses me. Still feeling like the first time.

He pulled away, and looked at me, "I'm really sorry if I gave that impression."

"It's fine, you just scared me." I smile.

"Are you?" He asks, not being able to finish.

"No." I laugh, "No, I'm not pregnant. We've talked about it, and that's why you scared me."

"Oh, okay. I see now." He laughs too.

My phone rang, cutting us off. Looking at the caller ID, it was Al.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hey, Ash, where are you and Joe?" Alan asks.

"The beach." I replied.

"Isn't a little cold?" He asks.

"We're not in the water, we're sitting on the beach." I laugh.

"Oh okay. Well Agent Hotchner said that he's on his way back." Alan informed.

"Thanks Al. We'll be there soon." I say.

He hangs up and I look at Joe.

"Lemme guess. We have to go?" He asks.

"Yeah. Hotch is gonna be there soon." I sigh.

"But, I don't wanna leave." He whines.

"Neither do I." I laugh.

"Then let's stay for a little while." He smirks.

I laugh, "What are you planning?"

"I dunno." He laughs, "How about this?" He leans in and kisses me again. Instead of pulling away, he pulled me closer.

Unfortunately, we were interrupted; once again. He pulled away, and I sighed. It was now Chad.

"Hello? This is SSA Ashley Stamper." I greeted.

"I know who you are Ash. Where are you and Joe?" Chad asks.

"Did Alan not tell you?" I ask.

"He did. But you two were supposed to be here by now." He says.

"Well, Joe and I got caught up at the beach. We'll be there soon." I sigh.

"Hm. Play it safe kids." He laughs.

"Chadwick. Don't even. We're leaving now." I promise.

"Hm? If you're not here in 15 minutes. We're coming to get you." He warns.

"Whatever." I sigh.

I hang up and look at Joe; once again.

"What did Chadwick need?" Joe asks.

"We need to leave now or they're gonna come get us. He also told me that we need to play it safe." I laugh.

"Oh my." He mutters.

"Yeah. Now, let's go." I say.

Joey gets up, and then pulls me to my feet; after I wince in pain. He takes my hand and we start walking down the Boston streets. Crowded full of people.

We finally reached the room in the nick of time, but Joe insisted that we still had at least minute left.

"We do not have a minute left." I argue.

"Yes we do. We're wasting it by arguing." He says.

"What are you talking about?" I ask.

He shuts me up by kissing me. He lightly pushed me until my back was up against the wall.

A minute and 47 seconds later, our room door opened and someone walked out.

"Thought I said to play it safe." Chad laughs.

"Oh shut up bro." Joe breathes out.

"How long have you been here?" Chad asks.

"Before you came; a minute and 47 seconds." I answer.

"You actually know that?" Joe asks.

"Yeah. On our first case, the drive to the unsub's house was originally a 15 minute drive; with Morgan's driving it was 7 minutes and 36 seconds." I laugh.

"Wow." Chad mutters.

"Whatcha sayin' babygirl?" Morgan calls from down the hall.

"Your speeding." I answer.

"Ain't got time to waste." He shrugs.

"You don't have time to waste." I correct.

"It's like we have two Calebs." Chad jokes.

"Nah. One Caleb and one Ashley." I laugh.

"What about me?" Caleb asks, walking into the hallway.

"Oh, I corrected Morgan." I inform.

"I'm not the only one!" Caleb cheers.

"She's always done it." Joe says.

"You're just never around." I laugh.

"What? All five of us are together all the time." Caleb says, raising an eyebrow.

"Then everybody uses correct grammar, or I don't catch it." I say.

"She almost got angry the other day because I used incorrect grammar." Chad says.

"It's true." I laugh.

"She even does it at work." Spencer says.

"It's like Spence with his facts." Emily smiles.

"I like listening to those. They're interesting. It's amazing how he knows so much." I encourage.

"At least somebody likes them." Spencer mutters.

"She was talkin' 'bout you the other day." Chad says.

"Talking about." I corrected.

"Thank you!" Caleb cheers.

"I'm going inside. You're all dorks." I laugh.

"Hey! You love me." Joe pouts.

"I do love you. I fell in love with your dorkiness." I smile.

"Princess sassy." He mutters.

"What?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing." He smiles sweetly.

"Prince Dork." I mumble.

"What was that?" Joe asks.

"I'm a profiler, I can play the same game." I smirk. I walk inside, meeting Alan.

"What took you so long?" Alan asks.

"We got caught up at the beach." I say.

"Hm. Sure you did." He laughs.

"We did. We were just talking." I smile.

Joe then came in, and hugged me from behind.

"I'll show you how the game is played." He whispered.

I turned around to face him, "Sorry, honey. I rule this one."

"Nope. I got this." He laughs.

•A/N•

Here's another. Sorry that it took me so long to post this today. I wanted it published earlier.

But, I got out of bed late. Then I had to go to my cousins birthday party. Now, I have to do my homework. So much to do! I'll get done though, even if I hate it. Lol.

Side note though; Joey and Donald have a new Instagram page dedicated to healthy living. Go check it out! Hopefully have some help this soccer season.
It's @joeyanddonald.
