-Chapter 9

 *John's POV*

 I walked down the stairs of my apartment building, throwing a jacket over my shoulders. Alex was let out a few days ago, so I wanted to take him out. I was going to get soemthing for him after taking him out for lunch. I was suppose to take care of him while he gets use to the wheelchair. 

 Most of the time he can't push himself along. His arms were getting weaker, and skinnier. That worried me a lot. I wish I could read his mind to be able to understand what was going on. I'd have to talk to him about that later. 

 I knocked on his door, recieveing a small "Come in!" from Alex. I jabbed the extra key he gave me to his apartment into the doorknob, and turned it. I pushed the door open to reveal a nicely dressed Alex, wearing a small smile on his face. I gave him a warm smile. "How ya feeling today, love?" I asked, kissing him gently on the forehead as I sat next to him on the couch. "I'm feeling alright.. could be better though.." he mumbled sadly. "Well, don't worry. I'll make sure today is the most fun you've had in a while!" I said cheerfully, holding his hand, and squeezing it gingerly. The smile reappeared on his beautiful face. "There's that beautiful smile!" 

 "You ready to go?" I asked. He nodded in response. "Ok," I picked him up bridal style, surprised of how light he was, and carefully set him down in the wheelchair provided by the hospital. I pushed him out, giving him a small kiss on the top of his head, which smelled like delicate roses.

 We walked down the street to our favorite coffee shop, Coffee City. It's where we met, sort of.

 We strolled in, getting a few stares from little kids, who were eventually scolded by their parents, or guardians. We walked up to the counter, Alex placing his small hands in his lap. 

 "Hello, John! Alex! How'd the surgery go?" Hailey Tucker, a day shift worker, asked. "It went well, thank you for asking." Alex said, a small smile on his face. "Awesome! The usual for you both?" She asked, getting ready to type it in on the laptop. "Yep, but this time we'd like to order a couple doughnuts," I said, receiving a quizzical look from Alex. "I told you I'd get you something, love," I whispered in his ear as Hailey typed in our orders. (Gashdangit I smell the butter roles T^T)

 Alex blushed visibly, a sheepish grin on his face. ",and there's more where that came from~!" I whispered excitedly. He chuckled. "Thank you.." he mumbled. "Of course!" 

 We got our things and headed to a booth next to a window. Cars were zooming by, followed by a few bikers. "Okie dokie, here's our stop, love!" I said, helping him get into the seat. I sat across from him in the booth, and lightly sipped on coffee, when suddenly he asks,

 "Wanna hear some cheesy pick up lines?" Alex grinned, taking a sip of his coffee. I nodded. "Okayyy, here we goo!" He seemed to think for a moment. "Did you sit in a pile of sugar? Cause you have a pretty sweet ass." I snorted, blushing profusely. Alex snickered. "If you were a vegetable, you'd be a cute-cumber," I giggled, Alex laughing lightly. "Keep going!" I wheezed. "Okay!" 

 "Are you a fruit, cause Honeydew you know that you look fine?" I banged my fist on the table lightly, my cheeks hurting from laughing and smiling. A blush was still very visible on me freckled cheeks. "Wait-Wait, lemme try!" I said, smiling. "Go for it!" He stood still listening intently. "Have you seen a doctor lately? Cause you're lacking vitamin me." I wiggled my eyebrows flirtatiously, causing us both to burst into a fit of giggles. 

 "That was so good.." Alex said through giggles. "Why thank you!"

 We walked back to his apartment. I opened the door and gently pushed him inside. "Thanks for today.." he said quietly. "Of course, love. I'd do anything for you.." I whispered. 

 Alex looked up at me, gently grabbing my face, and kissing me passionately. I melted into the kiss, nervous bubbles rising up from my stomach. I wrapped my arms around his neck, smiling softly into the kiss. 

 When we parted, there was nothing but love in his chocolate eyes. His smile showed it to. "I'm so glad I have you here with me.." he whispered. "I think I'm falling in love with you everyday.." his eyelids lowered a bit as he gazed into my eyes. 

 "I would hope so.." I whispered back, planting a small kiss on his nose. "We both need to get some sleep, love. Is it alright if I stay over?" I asked softly. "Of course! I'd be happy for you to stay over," He smiled. "Yay!" I cheered quietly, kissing his cheek. He chuckled. 

 I picked him up bridal style and took him to his room, laying him down on the bed. He sighed contenly, cuddling into the blankets. I took off my jacket, placing it beside the bed, and climbed in bed with Alex, wrapping my arms around the slightly taller boy. 

 And soon enough, I was pulled into a deep sleep.
