Seokjin

Spring was always a season of celebration and beauty.The way the cherry blossoms adorned the busy walkways of Seoul,bringing a small smile and a sense of serenity to anyone who walked by ,somehow gave assurance that the world hadn't forgotten the beauty of nature after all.

However,oblivious to all this Aera was cradled softly in the strong arms  of sleep as she dreamt of a special someone who smelled like vanilla and lemongrass giving her a sense of security and perhaps freedom of love.

It was only when the strong glare of the afternoon sun didn't waver from Aera's face,reminding her to get up, she finally woke up, rubbing her eyes groggily as her mind tried it's best to convince her that she was forgetting something or rather someone.

Contrary to any other youth that belonged to this 21st century generation Aera did not reach out for the immobile mobile device that laid in her bedside table.If she had she would've seen the numerous missed calls and text messages from her love.

Instead she chose to answer her rumbling stomach as she made her way into the kitchen,her mind buzzing with the question of 'what she had forgotten?'.

As if the universe had heard her question,her doorbell rang multiple times. An annoyed Aera made her way to the front door and opened it to see a very familiar handsome face whose expression of instinctive motherly concern morphed into a knowing look as his lips formed an amused smirk.

With realization hitting Aera like a truck,she rambled "Jin oppa, I'm so sorry, I completely forgot about our anniversary.I had a night shift and I fell asleep because I was so tired.Damn I can't believe I forgot, I'm so stupid,I-"

She was silenced as he slowly placed his lips on hers pulling her into kiss,but it not last long as Aera would've liked. "That was very rude,you know",Aera huffed as she let him into her apartment.

"Yes,definitely. It was more rude than leaving your world wide handsome boyfriend all alone at the airport"

A pang of guilt passed through her chest as she mumbled an "I'm sorry" to only be hushed softly by her boyfriend.

"It's alright, I understand.Let's leave it. It doesn't matter if we're in Paris or Seoul,I'm fun  wherever we go".

A soft chuckle passed through her lips as she asked "So,worldwide fun,what do we do now?"

"Well my dear Aera I was wondering if you would enlighten my day by coming on a date with me"

"Well,I would be honoured" Aera replied unable to contain the smile that danced on her lips.

They first decided to grab a quick lunch,or rather in Aera's case brunch,before moving on to the rest of their short itinerary.

The cafe they chose to dine at were one of their favourites, because of the amazing food and moreover because the old halmeonni at the cafe tolerated their crazy weirdness.

As they ordered lunch, Jin watched Aera bob her head to one of the 80's songs that filled the atmosphere.

His heart pounded harder and the amusement on his face grew, he couldn't resist the opportunity as he held his hand out to Aera.

"Wanna dance, Aera-ssi?"

"Of course, Jin-ssi"

Jin takes Aera's soft hands into his own and places it on his shoulder and places his own on her slender waist.

The couple move to the rhythm, their heartbeats aligning,pulling them into obvious oblivion. They didn't notice their lunch arriving or the old couple in the shop looking at them with reminiscence etching on their faces.  To them all that mattered was the thousands of galaxies that they found in each others eyes.

The couple walked through the busy footpaths of Seoul, their hands fitting perfectly with each other,their steps aligning as they talked about nothing and everything under the evening sun.

The duo felt all alone in universe that was made just for them.Their hearts and gazes were reminiscent as they stood by the Han River taking in the view of the luminous sun dipping into the river, maybe in the hope of cooling down.

"Aera-ya,do you remember when we first met?"

Aera chuckles tenderly,resting her hand atop of Jin's "Yes,I was 19 and on my way home after college"

"And you were stupid enough to not take your umbrella with you"

"Yah! We wouldn't have met otherwise."- Aera retorted and continued,

"You wouldn't have offered me your umbrella or tricked me into getting coffee with you on the way home"

"아이고!(Gosh) What would I do if I hadn't met my love?"Jin laughed deeply with seriousness lacing his words.

As night fell and the stars were scattered across the vast stretch of black nothingness, the lovers stumbled into the older's home with Aera softly giggling into Jin's chest. She wasn't drunk on anything toxic  but on her happiness and contentment. In her oblivion of euphoria she didn't notice the decorated living room glowing with dim lights and with fresh rose petals adorning the room.

Before Aera could say anything she felt soft lips pressing onto her forehead as she was led to the balcony, where the only source of light were the minimal stars that were seen in the city and the soft lights from homes where people were working late. Aera sighed softly as Jin started speaking.

"Aera-ya,do you know when I realised I love you?"

"When we met?",Aera asked expectantly

"No, not exactly. On our first date -

Jin's ears were red as he stared at the stars with Aera. He couldn't believe he found someone so incredible. Someone who had stole his heart making him realise he had a heart after all. Still, he had to know how she felt too.

"Aera-ya how do you feel about our relationship? " he asked with nervousness creeping  into his tone.

"Imagine you're living in a bubble" the girl said still looking at the iridescent stars.

"Huh?"

"Unbeliebubble" Aera laughed softly  , "That's how I feel about you",she continued as any trace of her previous laughter dissipated into that of love and fondness.

Then, at that moment I knew. You were the one for me,that your laughter was my favourite song. It was you that helped me find myself, with you I trust my entire being. To you I have given my heart,soul and body. To you I've given my entire reason for existence.

So,Aera will you let me give you everyday of my  life by marrying me?"

"Yes"
