Chapter Five
(A/N, so basically the italicized part is a flashback, and Y/N explaining where she was for the past two years to Laxus, so yeah!)
Laxus's father had just been expelled from the Guild few weeks prior. So naturally he decided to take a one-week quest and bring me with him. He needed the time away from the guild, but I understood that not even him would want to be completely alone after what had happened. I sighed as we had exited the train stop, walking into the town.
By that time it had been late at night, as Laxus and I were both very tired. We quickly found a hotel, and went to sleep in our room. Once we had woken up, and took advantage of the hotel's free breakfast, we headed out on our quest. Laxus had apparently met up with the client before we went to the hotel.
The quest was a simple one, just to catch some bandits that had ben terrorizing the town. Rumor around town had been that they were laying low in the forest, robbing any wanderers into or out of the town. So Laxus and I went to that forest, not knowing that only one of us would return.
"I'll go get us food." I had told Laxus, as we were waiting for the bandits to bump into us. I had headed off towards a lake that Laxus and I spotted earlier, and was going to attempt fishing.
That was until the men snuck up on me. They looked to be wearing ninja-like outfits, but with some sort of insignia on their chest. That emblem, it was the same crest that the crusaders who burned downed my village had worn that night. It was the same symbol that the knights who had so feverishly killed my dragon mother.
They had knocked me out just before I could begin to fight. They took me prisoner, and tried to steal my magic. It took two years before I could even have the chance of escaping.

"So thats basically it." I spoke to Laxus, bringing myself back to reality. He offered no words, but merely moved his hand to hold my face, his thumb swiping away the stray tear that ran down my face, giving up a sad small smile
I snuggled myself closer to Laxus, and closed my eyes as we both drifted into some much needed sleep.

I woke up to a cold bed, with a red rose placed on my night stand, a small letter resting on top of it. Laxus. Of course. I smiled, and quickly sat up, reaching for the letter.
Dear Y/N, Me and The Thunder Legion are going on a two week long quest. I'm sorry for not telling you last night, but enjoy the rose while I'm gone. I'll be back soon. I promise. Love, Laxus.
I groaned as I read the letter. That little bitch left me. I pouted, and picked up the rose. After admiring it for a bit, I put it in a vase, and got dressed for the day. I wore a simple dull F/C sweater with a brighter F/C plaid skirt, and leggings underneath that. I paired the look off with black leather boots.
A two week long mission, eh? Well, two can play at that game, mister. I headed to the guild hall, and walked immediately over to the quest board. I looked through the requests. Which of these would take the longest? I narrowed my eyes as I looked at the board. "Oh! Hey Y/N." Nabb spoke, from beside me.
"Oh hey Nabb. You know you really should chose a job once in awhile." I joked to him before my eyes landed on a quest.
It was a simple quest, just to manage a bar that sometimes got rowdy for about a week. The quest was made by the owner, and he needed a wizard to take care of some rowdy drunks while he was out. The reward was higher than most quests at this level, but I guess that's expected when it's a month long.
I lightly grabbed the paper off the board before walking over to Makarov. "Hey Gramps, I'm gonna take this job." I say, placing it down in front of him. He looked at the job, wrote something down, and nodded back up at me.
"Alright, thanks Gramps." I smiled, grabbing the quest and walking out the front door. What I didn't know was the monstrosity I'd be facing when coming back from that quest. The quest got cut short, about two weeks in with a Lacrima call from Cana.
I had slipped into the back room, and answered the call. "Hey Cana, what's up?" I smiled at the Lacrima in front of me, but that's when I noticed. She looked like shit. Was that Mira in the background? She looked like she's gone through hell. "What's wrong?" I asked, immediately dropping my positive demeanor.
"We're- we're under attack. I can't get a read on Mystogan, and Laxus refused to help. Please Y/N, you are our only hope." Cana looked at me, hear voice somehow not broken. I could feel the desperation in the guild.
"I'm on my way." I spoke, looking directly into the Lacrima.
(A/N, sorry- I know its a little shorter than the other chapters, I promise the next one will be standard size! I just felt the need to update & I felt like this was a good place for the chapter to stop! Much Love!)
