'NO!'. Flamekit watched helplessly as Volcanokit disappeared into the flames. He heard Volcanokit Yowl in pain and then go quiet. No! No! Why is this happening? Starclan why?. He felt tears prickling at his eyes. I won't cry, i won't cry, i won't cry!.

He felt Frostfoot drag him and Terrainkit away from the fire. "What are you doing?! I can't have my last two kits die!" Frostfoot mewed urgently at Terrainkit and Flamekit, dragging them away from the flames. Flamekit stared blankly into the flames as Frostfoot pulled him and Terrainkit away from the smoldering nursery. Terrainkit nudged Frostfoots leg as they padded away from the flames,

"Mum? Will Volcanokit and Rabbitkit be ok? They're not dead like Wingkit, right?". Flamekit felt a wave of sorrow wash over him as he remembered his other sibling who had disapearred in the night. A fox had gotten into the camp during the night. Redstripe, Frostfoot's brother, had looked all night for the missing kit, but had failed. Flamekit shivered at the thought that Wingkit, Rabbitkit and Volcanokit were all dead.

"Hopefully, my kit, they are still alive. Even Wingkit." Frostfoot meowed softly to Terrainkit. Although Frostfoot's voice was calm, Flamekit could see horror in her eyes as she guided them away from the blazing camp.
