S2 - Ch.7 - Beyond (Part 2)
[Earth-201499 | The Moon | Sanctuary]
"There, all five pieces of armor, done and crafted" Y/N told himself loudly, looking down at himself before putting a necklace over his head, one from the helmet he was supposed to wear. "And I look like one of those Western Gunslingers that came from the Moon... Or something".
Kara eyed her man up and down, puckering her lips a little to think before letting out a little snicker. "You kinda do, with that poncho and all that. You're only wearing it all this one time anyway" she then shrugged, folding her arms straight after.
"Do I sense disappointment in your tone?" he asked with a smirk, Kara blew a strand of blonde hair away from her face before tucking it at the back of her right ear.
"No... I'm just..." she felt herself hesitant to say, since he had already heard it all before, her worries for him venturing alone in that Pyramid, one of many of those ships that attacked her planet and was solely responsible for Krypton's collapse. "Oh Rao" she pronounced her God's name in a jaded tone. "You already know what I'm gonna say" she sighed and looked away for the moment, awkward to make eye contact with her man.
Y/N noticed her movements, her tone and decided to place a finger under her chin to make her look back at him. "My Super Sweetheart, it's okay" he called by his cheesy nickname for her, at least according to her, it fortunately made her smile and burst into a few little giggles once she heard it.
"Damn you and your cheesy nicknames for me... No wonder why I fell in love with you" she sweetly remarked after rolling her eyes, still smiling at the nickname he called her by just there.
"I know how you're feeling about this, I get that you aren't going to be with me on this mission" he nodded, Kara's smile soon disappeared however as soon as he began speaking about the Pyramid Infiltration mission. "I need to do this, if we had time, Eris would try to help craft something similar to help you get past the Pyramid's warding, but we don't" he held both of Kara's hands into his, rubbing his thumbs over her knuckles. "You're needed up here, just in case, but Roze will need your help with containing the Nightmares with some Guardians in the meantime" he told her, as he felt his hands being squeezed gently.
A worried and scared looking Kara Zor-El looked at Y/N with nothing but fear for him. She began to assume the worst would happen to him since she can't go to assist him, like a team should.
"I'm just... Scared. Scared for y-you" she stammered a little, noticeably shaking in her red and gold V-shaped boots, the worst imaginations beginning to overwhelm her mind. "Scared that you won't c-come back from this, scared that I won't ever-".
"Hush" Y/N quietly silenced her with a finger on her lips after pulling one hand away from hers. Silencing her from going on a ramble "I've got the armor to protect me, it's been helping us this far, it'll shield me from the overwhelming Nightmares, or whatever's in the Pyramid" even he shook a little when he thought about it... What really is within the mysterious Pyramid Ship? The thing that was behind Humanity's Collapse and Krypton's Fall, and possibly many other worlds before it.
Supergirl only looked into her boyfriend's eyes before pulling herself closer to him, still holding onto his hand for comfort and closure, making sure to hold him close before he ventures out. She also feared for Glace too, considering her condition every time they were even close to the Pyramid.
She quietly sighed, sniffling a little before opening her mouth to speak. "You better make it back, I don't want to lose you" fear sprung up in her tone from the last few words that left her, she didn't want to even think of the worst but she couldn't, that Pyramid amongst many she saw destroy her world, has caused enough pain and suffering as it is. She wished to go with him to enter it, to at least face her fears head on.
"And I will, I'll hold you to it" he smiled before kissing her cheek, making her smile for just a little moment. "I'll need to speak with Eris first before I depart, c'mon" he nodded toward the former Guardian, currently facing away from her Phantoms. Trying to ignore them.
Eris couldn't even bare to look at the Phantoms that represented themselves as her Fireteam still, they carried and spoke words of dread, hopelessness, pain and fear. Trying to break Eris almost like they did back near the Pyramid across the balcony near the Enduring Abyss.
Soon enough, the woman heard the Guardian and the Girl of Steel approach, turning around to see that the Guardian was wearing the armor provided by the Essence and Lectern, which it was the time to proceed with the next objective. "Of all the things that haunt me, hesitation is not among them" Eris grasped her hand for just a moment before opening it again, looking at her green orb next. "Our world and Kara's planet collapsed in pain and agony under the weight of these Pyramids" Y/N held Kara's hand and squeezed, as she did the same.
As much as it did sound painful to hear, Eris was right... The Pyramids had brought ruin and agony to both worlds, and possibly more before it. Whatever these ships of Darkness are, they aren't something to be overlooked.
"But now we have a fighting chance" Supergirl added in.
"But what lies within? More of the same?" Eris begged to question of what's entombed within the Pyramid.
Could there be someone lurking within the Pyramid? Or was it but an empty vessel, abandoned and forgotten like a piece of forgettable history left behind to gather dust upon? Never to be uncovered and see the light of day again??
"It doesn't matter. We must know" Eris looked away from her green orb, straight back to the Guardian. "The unknown can act as a siren that draws us in... And swallows us whole" she monologued before placing a hand on the Guardian's shoulder. "Please... Do not let yourself be consumed".
"It won't come to that" Y/N nodded, Eris pulled her hand off of Y/N's shoulder as he turned to face Supergirl as she had a crinkle in between her eyebrows, looking directly into his eyes to see if he was lying or not. "I promise, nothing can consume me" he said with a little cocky attitude to lighten up the mood.
"Just come back safely" Supergirl replied, before kissing him on the lips, leaving a long, good luck kiss for him to remember her by before he and Glace plunges back into the Enduring Abyss, where the Pyramid was found deep within the Moon's surface. "Good luck" she mumbled into his lips, with the two pulling away to rest their foreheads on each other.
"I'm gonna need it, thanks darling" Y/N soon replied, leaving Kara with a tint of pink across her cheek, paired with her worried look also.
"Don't worry Kara, we'll be fine" Glace gave her word also, before the latter pulled back, stepping away from Kara's touch.
And just like that, the Guardian's figure soon vanished in a blue shimmer, transmatting away, leaving Supergirl alone with Eris and her Phantoms.
The Girl of Steel soon placed a hand on her upper right arm, sighing at herself, before she sensed eyes on her, from Eris Morn.
"He is strong, he will be fine" Eris said comforting words to Kara, though it didn't really make Kara feel more relaxed about him going off on his own without her present, Kara nodded along anyway.
"I'm needed elsewhere on the Moon, Guardians need my help, I'll be back soon" Supergirl soon spoke after recollecting her thoughts, before levitating up into the air and flew away, leaving Eris alone with her Phantoms.
Once again...
Eris felt alone once more, with nothing but her past haunting her once more...

[New-Earth-Reborn | Metropolis, USA | Catacombs under Metropolis]
Lex sat within his own chair, made up from the fabric of his own mind thanks to the artifact that he now bears within his greedy grasp, atop of the hideout he's made for himself and those that he'd soon persuade to join him...
If it's by choice...
Or force...
He wouldn't take no for an answer, he didn't care for whatever they were doing, as long as he needed them so he could have numbers, it was all he needed to get his revenge on the Man of Steel and those who wronged him...
It was a shame however, he wanted to gain revenge on Supergirl and that "blasphemy" Lightbearer, just when he thought aliens were bad, whatever this Lightbearer brought was somewhat worse.
Reports had indicated that an unidentified alien species with "four arms" had been detected within near forests and mountains, carrying an odd looking banner with them that had been planted outside settlements, residents homes had been raided by these aliens and supplies stolen from towns.
The first to encounter these aliens were the reformed Teen Titans, led by Red Robin, who was the previous leader of the last batch of Titans that had quit or disappeared after the Crisis ensued in the Solar System and beyond.
"Blasphemy!" Lex cussed out loudly, staring directly down at the villains he had corrupted with his newer found powers, curtesy of 'The First Knife'. "What do you mean they escaped?!?" he angrily shouted at a Taken Kryptonite Man, still holding a little will over himself, but could feel Lex's own twisted hands within his mind, controlling him, bending him to his will.
"At least Nightwing and a few escaped, Luthor, but we managed-"
"At least?" he felt his blood boiling over that one word, did he sense relief come from Kryptonite Man? "AT LEAST?!!" he closed his fist, with Kryptonite Man falling to his knees in pain, holding his head in a fathomable, immense and throbbing pain.
He felt as if his head was going to implode, like a severe headache pulsating over and over again.
"I do NOT tolerate failure, especially when I now have the chance to get my revenge on that blasted alien who caused this to happen to me! Who took everything from me!!" he gripped harder into the mind of Kryptonite Man, seething with annoyance, causing more immeasurable pain. "I have the power to heal this world from the alien filth that is Superman and all his allies and loved ones, starting with liberating Metropolis in my image! FAILURE is futile! And you... YOU CAN'T EVEN STOP A HUMAN AND A FEW METAS FROM ESCAPING?!! NOW THEY'LL LIKELY TELL THEIR ALLIES OF OUR LOCATION!!!" he shouted angrily at the man.
Kryptonite Man couldn't help but scream in bloodcurdling pain, holding his head even harder as Lex began closing his hand, getting ready to put an end to one of his own minions for failing him, he tolerated failure, it drove him mad...
He already lost ownership of his own company, he didn't want no more failures in his name.
"Lu-Luthor! we-ARGHHHH!!" Kryptonite Man couldn't bear the pain, he couldn't even speak straight with his mind in the midst of being torn apart by Lex's hand, whatever that Taken power was doing to him, it seemed to be making him act different, Lex wasn't prone to hurting his own comrades unless for his own schemes.
"NO MORE EXCUSES!!" seethed the Luthor who lost his company. "I should've took complete control over your mind! You incompetent idiot!! PERHAPS THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED IF I DID!!"
"Luthor!" a Taken Metallo finally spoke up after watching his comrade being torn apart still within the mind. "We caught one of them! That's what we've been trying to tell you!" Metallo shouted toward his boss, not by choice.
Lex seemed to ease on breaking Kryptonite Man's mind upon hearing what Metallo shouted toward him, noticing Metallo throw someone towards the ground, who laid unconscious but injured severely and mortally wounded.
It was Grace Choi, who had remained behind to buy Nightwing and the Outsiders time to get out, sacrificing herself to save her own team, they said she was tough... But against Taken infused beings? Perhaps not, they however had help from the Taken themselves, the ones under Lex's control, which he had borrowed from a certain Queen.
Lex noticed Grace's unconscious body, smiling to himself for a mere moment before letting out a dark chuckle. "Perhaps I misjudged you both" he called out, before dropping down to the ground from his throne made out from his own mind. "However... They will know of our locations, no thanks to you both FAILING to stop them" he still showed disappointment, he expected better however.
"Should we relocate? It won't be long until more come, let alone... Superman" Metallo asked his boss, who only kept his eye on the roughed up Grace Choi.
He thought to himself for a mere moment, thinking of what the next move was, but one sick thought came to his head...
He had an idea... A way to lure in unsuspecting heroes. Using Grace Choi, but first?
He would surely love to have her on his side... Even if it's by force.
"For now, no" a devious, evil smirk came across his face as he knelt down to Grace. "We will trap those unsuspecting, gather them... And I will Take them all" he grasped his hand, with Taken energy beginning to roll down his own arm.
"And what if Superman if he shows?" Metallo then asked.
"Let me deal with him, if he shows. It's doubtful he won't show, it's his city after all" he said with a distaste in his mouth.
"What about that... Voice you've been hearing apparently-"
"Enough questions!" Lex snapped. "Be lucky I'm not taking your own minds away. GET BACK TO WORK!" he shouted.
Metallo helped up Kryptonite Man and scurried him off with him, giving him a few words of scolding as they walked off, Lex cared to listen at all, he had to plan and plan fast for their next moves if the plan were to be successful or not.
But the question that sprung in his mind...
Why hasn't 'The First Knife' communicated with him yet? He done what it asked him to do, he took great power with the artifact, or 'a gift' it called it, a gift for him to take. He wondered why it hasn't spoken to him since he got the powers to control the Taken and Take others' will.
Lex sure had a nasty thought of Taking the will of Superman, he'd sure put him through a lot of pain by making him hurt his loved ones physically, kill them? Perhaps, he had no care for their lives whatsoever.
And so... He began to plot...

[Earth-201499 | The Moon | Enduring Abyss]
"Our fate lies ahead of us. That Pyramid destroyed so many lives long ago" Eris Morn's voice spoke through Y/N's comms, while he made his way through the cave of the Enduring Abyss, just past the shadowed Thrall that creepily crawled past Y/N's night-vision sight. "Getting inside is paramount. We must find something - anything - to help us prepare for their violent return".
"We'll find something, Eris. I promise I will return with something to help us fight the upcoming storm, to help us prepare like you said, whatever these Pyramids are? We need to be ready" Y/N replied, navigating through the cave. "How's Supergirl getting along? Is she helping the Guardians on the Moon?" Y/N then asked Eris with worry, he feared for how Kara was feeling, guilty even.
He would've made Dreambane stuff to allow Kara to go with him if it meant breaking through the Pyramid's warding, but... After what she has told him? He didn't wish to have the Pyramid inflict more suffering on her as it is, he noticed how she was every time the Pyramid was in sight, she seemed to cower from it, even down when grabbing the Cryptoglyph, he could see it in her eyes, even when his Light was a little... Off putting.
It was true that she was scared... Scared of the Pyramid that brought ruin to her planet and people before, but even when she vowed to go with him to get inside the Pyramid, showing bravery and confidence to face it now that she has superpowers, thanks to the yellow sun affecting her cellular structure and body, however he wouldn't allow it, he didn't want her to suffer more dread from that Pyramid more than already.
It sounded stupid, but he vowed that Kara wouldn't go near the Pyramid since it brought nothing but dread to her mind, like it was telepathically affecting her emotionally and physically.
"Yes, Kara is fine" Eris soon replied. "However, keep your wits above you, we do not know what tricks they play-*comms crackle*"
"Eris?" Glace responded through the comms, hoping to get a response back from her, but the comms seemed to jam up yet again, just like last time when they ventured down this cave.
Distorted whispers laid bare throughout the cave this time around, indescribable words, unintelligible
"!Esaelp Em Pleh" a strange whisper scurried through Y/N's own head, it sounded quite unsettling.
*Unintelligible Whispers*
"Ah!" Glace suddenly cried out in pain, feeling something within her shell again, with her vision blacking a little. "N-No! Not again!".
"Glace?" Y/N reached his hand out, soon his Ghost popped up over his hand as he checked on her, her eye flickered blue for a few moments before it stopped, she was a little lower than usual when she floats above his hand.
"I-I can feel it... Within my shell" Glace's voice turned monotoned, dark. "Like it's reaching inside me" she cried out. "We-We have to keep... Pushing" a little hint of corruption sounded in her voice, something was trying to take over Glace, but Y/N. "Argh! We have to keep going, getting inside the Pyramid is paramount".
A few Thrall popped out from nowhere along with a few Acolytes just before Y/N thought of pulling back just for Glace to be somewhere safe without her going near the Pyramid, whatever it was doing to her, he didn't like it at all.
"Shit" he cursed before shooting first, defending himself from a few Thrall that jumped at him, all three of them.
He rolled forward and hammer-fired the Acolyte out in the open, killing it in three shots with the last going to the head, before throwing a Void magnetic grenade at the bundle of appeared Thrall.
Just before the explosion went off, he leaped into the air and threw his bundle of Solar knives which landed on the Acolytes and the Knight that were guarding the outside of the cave, toward where he was supposed to go. A combination of orange and purple illuminated the cave in a flash of colors as Y/N landed on the ground.
"Glace" he pulled his Ghost out once more, half of the eye now a strange orange color, the other half, the same blue hue.
"I'm fine I'm trying to fight it" she said with the same monotone damaged and dark voice, he noticed her shaking and glitching, an unsettling amount of movement coming from her had made him worried enough. "K-K-Keep going" she pleaded for her Guardian to continue on, just like last time, through the familiar space they now came across the first time exploring this desolated part of the Moon.
Soon his Ghost vanished safely, as he jumped down within the ravine where the Phantoms were still ominously levitating over the giant rock above and ahead.
he journeyed through the ravine, soon rounding the corner... Where he first encountered the Pyramid... The same black and looming Pyramid, now resonating with a strange orange like energy.
"The Pyramid is... Waiting" Glace's voice turned completely dark, a monotone in her voice that spoke out like a corruption, it frightened Y/N but he kept going.
The Guardian soon jumped down across the form of ground ahead of him, heading in the same direction where he and Glace first discovered the wall of Darkness the Pyramid was conjuring, along with the first encounter with the Nightmare of Crota, Son of Oryx.
Where everything had changed completely, now with the Pyramid discovered on the Moon, which the Hive had probably known of its existence here long ago.
Unintelligible whispers yet again plagued Y/N's head, whispers of dread and strange language speaking to him, to him, it sounded similar to words being said backwards, but he couldn't tell while 'rounding the corner, with the Pyramid's warding up-ahead of him and Glace.
He jumped down from the plain of ground onto the next part, the side of the Pyramid in sight, top right of where he stood, walking toward the spike of energy up-ahead where he tried to go through the first time.
He felt nothing but an unsettling nature, he felt watched... Like the Pyramid was creepily watching his every move, even Glace wasn't talking anymore, like she normally would.
No resistance... No Hive guarding the spike of energy within the space... Nothing... Just him, his Ghost, and the Pyramid ahead... Something wasn't right.
It felt obvious that the Hive worshipped this Pyramid, the Darkness itself, the Darkness incarnate, it was like the Pyramid was welcoming him in without resistance at all.
He didn't like it but he approached the wall after making his way over toward it and reached out, making sure the spike of energy wouldn't push his hand away roughly, or his body in that note, feeling his hand move freely through the energy field.
Whispers of dread got louder however, overwhelming his own thoughts, with an unbearable noise of eerie-ness, it was enough to make him cover his ears as he crossed through.
"Argh!" he groaned in pain, a loud noise played in his head which made him feel a little dizzy but he kept his balance, the armor proved helpful, but it wasn't enough to protect him properly.
"Come closer, we await you" Glace's voice spoke in a strange calm demeanor... And there was no emotion to it, it didn't exactly sound like her, a note of layered whispers spoke in tone with her voice, presenting as 'we' which unsettled the Guardian.
"G-Glace?" Y/N tried to bring out his Ghost, successfully pulling her out from her safe spot in his backpack, he noticed orange like waves of dull energy and lightning sparking around her shell and eye socket, the eye now completely orange and dark, which sunk Y/N's stomach. "N-No, Glace..." his eyed widened at her, she failed to fight back whatever is speaking through her now.
Soon he put his hand away, gulping down a lump in his throat before Glace's shell shimmered away, back into his backpack and he continued on, the thing that spoke through Glace, beckoned him to come closer.
He jumped down the little slope past the barrier from earlier, finding himself travelling throughout the little cave again, before finding himself much more closer to the Pyramid.
From there, he could see an opening far, far ahead on the Pyramid, a gap that was open from where he could see, lit up by white and red lighting.
'An opening, no doubt a trap' he thought to himself.
"Do not be afraid... Closer" the distorted voice spoke through Glace's shell, using her voice still with the audible whispers behind her own tone.
He still couldn't shake the fact Glace was being possessed, possessed by what he thought was the Darkness possessing his Ghost to communicate with him.
He was hesitant, why was it so inviting? His wits told him not to listen, but his instincts were to find a way inside the Pyramid, and this seemed to be the only way.
He jumped down the slope once more, before he felt a gravity suddenly grab onto him and pull him through the air, like a gravity lift, unable to even fight the effect also.
"Shit!" he almost dropped his gun upon the sudden pull of gravity, his eyes laid bare on what was pulling him... The Pyramid was pulling him toward the opening.
"Violence (Violence). Beauty (Beauty). Truth (Truth). These things await inside (await inside). There's no turning back now (turning back now)" the Voice spoke through Glace once more, the whispers becoming more prominent, creeping Y/N out even more.
The Guardian found himself being pulled into the opening now, with unbearable, violent noises of what sounded like dreadful screaming and pleads of cries illuminated his ears, with audible whispers.
He couldn't bear to listen to whatever sounds they were to him, but it sounded like the walls were screaming around him, Nightmare Essence swirling around the place, or at least he thought it was the same Essence that came from the Nightmares, passing through the opening within the Pyramid.
He expected to find a welcoming party at the entrance, readying himself, despite how overwhelmed he felt in this moment, but surprisingly...
There was no welcoming party to welcome him properly as usual, just a complete isolated welcome, no one but him and the estranged voice that spoke through Glace in her voice and whispers.
He found himself safely transported onto a golden circular part of the Pyramid's flooring inside, his boots soon connecting to the ground after the gravity lift successfully pulled him within the ship itself... He was now inside the Pyramid and the search begins now.
"Welcome (Welcome). We've been waiting (waiting)" it spoke again, speaking with open arms after the Pyramid pulled him within the opening, he couldn't believe it...
He was in the Pyramid now, but he stood weary, the fact the Pyramid was welcoming him was very suspicious, but he made his way over to the set of stairs ahead and went up them.
From there, he crossed a small but large bridge that was quite unusual for his size, it was a wide, but short bridge, fit for someone bigger than him to cross. Perhaps there was someone within this ship?
He'd have to find out, and perhaps take them out, or whatever once roamed this ship and controlled it.
Once he crossed the bridge, he walked up another pair of stairs, bringing him to a hallway that lead to another set of stairs up-ahead.
"Fitting your Traveler would send you to face me once more" a familiar voice echoed through the hall, the voice coming from the room up-ahead up the stairs as a few Phantoms levitated out of the room itself.
The surprise dawned on Y/N was nothing but unmeasurable, he thought he'd have to face his own Nightmares within this vessel, the Pyramid seemed to be... Testing him. Or the Darkness was testing him.
Soon enough, he eventually made his way over to the stairs and up-ahead... He was facing down the red colored in Nightmare of Dominus Ghaul, Dominus of the Red Legion Cabal.
"Look upon me. Dominus of the Red Legion. Annihilator of suns. Razer of a thousand worlds! Slayer of gods and conqueror of the Light!! I AM. GHAUL!!!" a flashback of Ghaul's monologue plagued his mind, speaking through the Nightmare of Ghaul in front of him. "And I have become Legend"...
(Pyramid Music ends here)

[Earth-201499 | The Moon | Meanwhile With Supergirl]
Supergirl shot out her heat vision at a few Hive Acolytes that took sniper positions, helping out a Guardian who was currently at a downed Warmind Warsat that plunged down onto the Moon, with a few Guardians taking positions around the area of where the Warsat had crashed for it to be safely transmatted.
Whatever the Hive wanted with it, they sure weren't going to get it, even going as far as using Nightmares against them, but the Guardians had Supergirl as their muscle also, twice the amount of strength combined together.
She flew overhead and began blowing out ice from her mouth, freezing up a squadron of Knights and Thralls that were flanking the Guardians defending the Warsat.
"Thanks Supergirl! We're almost done here, we can handle the rest!" A Warlock from below plopped down his Well of Radiance last minute to secure the Warsat without much trouble, giving the Girl of Steel a thumbs up also after thanking her.
"You're welcome! It's the best I can do!" Supergirl smiled and nodded before flying off.
"So he just... Went in alone?" Roze's voice spoke through Kara's earpiece, with a concerned but not surprised tone. The two had been speaking since she went to assist the Guardians out in the field with the Nightmares and all sorts of objectives.
"Yeah... I should've went against his wishes, we're supposed to be a team, but he's ran off solo again. I thought this was what he wanted? To be apart of a team again, he said it himself" Supergirl responded, fists in front of her as she soared above the Moon.
"Oh that's classic Y/N right there, he said he always worked best alone, apart working with his Ghost, although he had a fireteam of his own once" Roze mentioned briefly, gaining Supergirl's attention toward it.
"Yeah... He told me how they died, how they were" the red caped girl lowered her tone in a somber way, she felt bad for him in a way, losing a team during a time of Crisis. "Did Y/N always act so reluctant to do things alone? Especially if it was venturing into the unknown?" she then asked with a concerned tone, hearing a little laugh from her earpiece the next.
"Oh yeah, of course he did! But he did have a reason for doing it" Roze replied, making the girl wonder for an answer behind her reply.
"Did... Something happen?" she asked while her super hearing picked up something unusual sounding, like a storm building up, flying on down toward the old crashed Fallen Ketch to investigate,
"He hasn't told you, huh?" Roze asked with a surprised tone, hearing Kara hum a no. "Well, less he was going to tell you... I'll tell you it all, less your too busy to listen to it all, and for the record, please don't tell him that I'm telling you this" Roze pleaded as Supergirl narrowed her eyes toward a few strange looking Vex, covered in green moss and leaves, with their alloy plating also colored green, before they disappeared.
"Y-Yeah, I can... Listen to it all, but no promises on telling him what you told me" she wasn't sure what she saw, she vowed to investigate in the meantime while she'd listen to what Roze had to tell her...
________________________________________________________________________________
[Earth-201499 | The Lunar Pyramid | Admittance]
"The Red War saw so many lives lost (so many lives lost). Saw the Light taken away so easily (so easily). In Light, there is only Weakness (Weakness)" the voice spoke, cursing the Light out as weak and useless.
On the other hand, Y/N was left huffing and puffing, seemingly out of breath, but he kept going, walking throughout the next hallway ahead where more Phantoms were found lurking around.
The fight with the Nightmare of Ghaul was fought in a familiar place, the last time he saw and fought Ghaul atop of the Dominus's own flagship that was near the Traveler, using corrupted Light against the Guardian.
With the Nightmare of Ghaul down, he was sure to find more Nightmares waiting for him, coming across a new room that echoed a voice.
"For Fathhherrrrr" the Fanatic's voice echoed through the hallway, soon Y/N found himself facing the Fanatic who was knelt down with his staff.
"Oh you've gotta be kidding me"...
________________________________________________________________________________
[Back with Supergirl, ten minutes later]
"He does realize I'm not a Guardian, right?" a disappointed Supergirl narrowed her eyebrows upon the thought of him going alone was to keep her out of harms way, or worse. "I can literally handle myself, why does he think that I'm fragile?".
"I don't know, he just... Doesn't want anything bad to happen to you in the unknown I suppose, I can understand why you're upset about him going alone now" Roze replied with an unsurprised tone.
"I get those were New Lights but... He doesn't have to treat me like one... Nothing like that is going to happen to me" Kara was more than disappointed at this point... She was upset. "Why would he do such a stupid thing? Going alone, putting himself in danger like that?".
"He's not treating you like one" Roze tried to reason with her "He just... Doesn't want anyone he cares about, hurt in any way possible. He's done it with his old Fireteam also. However, from the reports I got from the Moon? That Pyramid is putting psychological stress on unsuspecting Guardians, bringing past fears and all sorts of discomforting Phantoms. I'm surprised you aren't affected as such"
"Well..." Kara thought for a moment. "That Pyramid has done nothing but bring memories of Krypton back to me, what I saw was..." she stopped herself from talking more, closing her eyes with a pain arching in her chest, feeling nothing but survivors guilt once again.
"Yeah... Ikora told me and the Commander about that" Roze soon replied yet again. "Hmm... Maybe that could be the reason, why he wouldn't allow you to go with him" Roze thought.
"I doubt that" Supergirl looked out to the Moon's surface ahead, looking toward the view after investigating some pretty strange activity, her other thoughts wondered what the Vex were doing on the Moon. "He could've maybe crafted something to help me get past the warding or whatever it was that was blocking him and Glace from getting near the Pyramid, but he didn't, he just wanted to protect me, when he knows I can handle myself".
"He's one of the bravest Guardians I've known, it's no surprise to me though that he went ahead on his own, even if it was against your wishes".
"But I had no choice!" Kara raised her voice slightly. "He wanted me to work closely with him in a team, and he also vowed to always stick by my side and I'd stick by his! No matter what happens... But he broke that vow. *Sigh*, just because he wanted to shield me from one Pyramid, one ship that reminded me of Krypton's Fall, because I was scared" she lowered her tone soon as Krypton came across her mind.
"Because you were scared... And he took that literally" Roze repeated the same words Kara spoke.
"I was scared, I even said I was, but I told him I'd be fine, and I was, despite the horrible memories catching back up to me, I'm the sunshine in the dark, he told me that, but again he just had to do something stupid and go alone in this mission" Supergirl sighed out once more, thinking she was bashing him more. "Ugh! What am I saying? Maybe he did have a good reason, maybe if I was brave enough, he'd have me go with him... I faced down Darkseid, was I scared? Yes, but I stood up to him, I fought him, I was brave against him" Supergirl looked at her hands before groaning in annoyance at herself.
"I don't know who this Darkseid is but... I'm sure he sounded scary" Roze comforted her in her own way.
"In a short note: he made me do horrible things under his control. Y/N and Glace broke me free and I was returned, then Darkseid ambushed me and my cousin on Earth which lead to him breaking a promise that he wouldn't go after me, and I fought him long enough for my cousin to recover and Y/N was the one who killed Darkseid in the end, or I think he's dead" Kara explained, while holding the edges of her cape. "Those were the craziest days ever since I arrived on Earth. And since then? Y/N and Glace has been by my side, and I fell in love with him".
"I know that last part, but... You sure have been through a lot, surprised I'm knowing this all now" Roze showed compassion for Kara, making her smile a little as she soared above the Moon once more.
"Yeah..." Kara replied after a moment to herself. "Maybe he was right to go on his own, even when I said I was scared for him, maybe I meant to say I was scared overall...".
"Before you even call yourself a coward? You aren't a coward, Kara. The discovery of the Pyramid has... Put everyone in alert mode, some were even frightened to hear of its existence" Roze went to comfort her newest friend. "And I'm also sure he'll be fine, Y/N and Glace are tough, they've went through a lot, I'm sure a Pyramid won't stop them".
"I hope so..." Supergirl agreed with some shimmer of hope for her man. "Hey, mind if I tell you how my second date with Y/N went? I don't think I've told you".
"Anything to keep your mind off from worrying too much about him? Do tell, I'm listening" Roze acknowledged.

[Back at the Lunar Pyramid | Admittance]
"The Light abandoned Cayde (abandoned Cayde). Left him for dead (for dead. Left you to pick up the mantle (the mantle). In Light, there is only Failure (Failure)" the voice's words hit Y/N like a brick wall, an unexpected pain of wording that made him second guess while he continued on.
"N-No... The Light didn't abandon him... His Ghost... Sundance... Died" he stopped to catch his breath for a moment, still huffing and puffing from fighting the Fanatic and Ghaul.
He now walked through the next hallway, leading down to a bundle of stairs, that would lead him to what he expected to be the next Nightmare for him to face.
If the Nightmare of Ghaul and the Fanatic were here within this Pyramid, he expected Crota to be the next Nightmare to face, with the hurtful words of Cayde's passing stung like a pair of angry Wasps.
And surely... He found Crota kneeling and facing down to the ground, awaiting for the Guardian to approach, without nothing to say or anything.
"Alright then... Let's dance, Crota"

[The Moon | Back with Supergirl]
"Long story short. I kicked him where the sun doesn't shine and from there on? Y/N and I had our second date, and we first kissed on the Moon, my Earth's Moon" Supergirl finished speaking from earlier.
"Sounds romantic" Roze seemed to be a fan of the two as she already supported it. "Ever hear from that boy again?"
"Who? Power Boy?" Kara scoffed. "If I did? I'd kill him, he threatened to get rid of my man and his Ghost, if I ever saw him again? I'd be finishing what I started, kicking his ass" she flew on down to investigate more of the strange disturbance she found earlier, finding more Vex activity near more populated areas.
Supergirl flew on overhead, gaining a Hobgoblin's attention, covered in moss and leaves, tinted green with a bright red eye, it charged its beam rifle and fired at her, only to miss since Supergirl dodged in a flash.
She zoomed over and drove her fist through the Hobgoblin, spurting out its Vex Milk onto the Moon's surface, she immediately shook her hand to get rid of the substance that tickled her hand, but made her scrunch her face up with a little disgust.
"And you said earlier you didn't like it when Y/N would protect you like he's doing right now" Roze brought up, much to Kara's annoyance.
"That's different and you know it!" she said with an annoyed, arching her brows in a scolding way.
Roze began to think Y/N was right about Kara being hot tempered. She should've took the warning literally. "Sorry... I shouldn't have said that, had a feeling it'd burst a blood vessel or two in you" Kara could hear her smirking at this point, making her roll her eyes.
"It's alright, Y/N warned me you'd be a nuisance" she fired back.
"Oh-haha. Did he now?" Roze questioned, while Supergirl had a smug look on her face. Getting one over her.
"Oh he sure did, but he told me you were hot tempered" Roze decided to fire back at Kara in a friendly way, the girl knew but she scoffed at her response.
"I heard that before, might've had a word with him about that..." she replied, placing a strand of hair behind her right ear after narrowing her eyes down to the ground, scanning for anything she can find through her different spectrums of visions. "But he's kinda right in a way, couldn't exactly argue with him about that".
"Have you two ever argued?".
"In a friendly way over deciding what we want to watch and all that? Of course" Kara replied happily "I mostly win, sometimes he gets one over me, though we've always done some crazy minigames to see who wins and gets to pick, and he always wins at skeet" she huffed at the end.
"Skeet?" Roze begged to question.
"I'll tell you once we can speak in person" Kara brushed off with a serious tone after finding something unsettling in the Vex's patterns. "Um... Roze, can you do me a huge favor?".
"Sure, anything" she acknowledged.
"Can you let Praedyth know that I've found something Vex related?" she asked, much to Roze's surprise. "During our conversation, I found some Vex roaming around and managed to snag one, they're covered with an odd energy and they have moss and leaves on them, a green tint too" she informed her.
"Wait... Repeat that?" Roze asked. "The last thing".
"They're covered in moss and leaves? With a green tint?" Kara answered.
"The Vex??" Roze then questioned.
"Yup, found one, snagged one, standing over one right now. Can you let Praedyth know?" she confirmed again, with Roze stuttering on the other end. "Uh Roze? You good?".
"Y-Yeah... I... Why are the Sol Divisive on the Moon?" Roze questioned, before clearing her throat. "Excuse me, I'll get this to Praedyth right away, he's going to need to hear this. Speak soon Kara" Roze shared her farewells before cutting communication, before Kara could even reply back.
"Huh... Must be pretty serious then" Kara said to herself out loud before her hearing picked up something else...
A heartbeat, and a particularly familiar one in fact.
Supergirl thought her ears deceived her at this moment, surely is has only been half an hour but it felt like it was hours since she heard his heartbeat once again, the Pyramid must've blocked out any sounds from the inside.
"Y/N!" she immediately took flight and soared in the direction of the familiar heartbeat.
The only thing Kara was going to do was to drown him in kisses once she gets over to him.
She soared through the air like a high velocity missile, bursting forward with speed, her skirt and cape billowing behind her like her hair as she flew faster than a speeding bullet.
She wanted nothing more than to get to her boyfriend and check to see if he's alright, his heartbeat says he wasn't one-hundred percent however.
Supergirl narrows her eyes down toward the Moon's surface, finding her boyfriend checking Glace with a worried demeanor.
"I'm okay, I don't hear the voice anymore, I am so sorry, I couldn't fight it back" Glace sounded shooked, but she was intact, which Y/N was glad to hear.
"It's alright... I was worried sick I wouldn't hear your charming voice again" he complimented with a sigh of relief, looking roughed up himself also.
Supergirl flew down, landing on the surface with a little crack on the Moon's land. "Y/N!! You're alive!!" she shouted with nothing else but joy in her heart.
Before he could even respond or acknowledge her, she super sped into him and tackled the Guardian onto the Moon's surface, beginning to shower him in her smooches.
"O-Okay, you can-" he mumbled as Kara kissed his lips before rapidly going for his cheeks and face. "Damn, girl!" he began to softly laugh at her actions, acting like a Golden Retriever. "You. Are. Relent... Less" every word spoken, a kiss on his lips from Kara.
The Girl of Steel continued showering him in kisses, softly laughing alongside him afterwards.
"Seems someone missed you" Glace joked under all the shaking feeling she still had from being possessed earlier.
"Clearly" Y/N mumbled still, before being silenced again by a kiss on the lips, this time being a long one.
"I... Missed you so much, don't ever go off alone like that again" she said to him in a serious manner after pulling back from his lips.
"I told you I'd be fine" he smirked, though shaken up by what he had to endure, Supergirl frowned down at him, knowing he wasn't taking the hint. "But yeah, I can understand why you're upset with me probably".
"You made it up to me by being alive, that's all that matters" she softens her expression before placing her forehead on his. "We're supposed to be a team, you and I, and Glace... A Fireteam" she cooed with a little relived sigh.
"I'm just glad to see you too" Y/N smiled innocently and with relief, he was now out the Pyramid, and returned to the girl he loves.
"We have to get back to Eris" Glace soon cut in, breaking the little moment between her Guardian and Supergirl, gaining their attention toward her. "Y/N found something within the Pyramid and... Well..." Glace found herself shaken still, the after effects of being possessed showed it.
"What happened in there?" Supergirl looked at her man, looking with concern. "Your heart rate was fast when I first detected it across the Moon, it sounded like you were..." she tried to finish her sentence but she didn't want to assume if it were true, that he was scared.
"Scared?" he asked, finishing the sentence for her.
"Yeah... Scared" she said lowly.
Y/N took a breath before replying. "Yeah, I was scared" he admitted, much to Kara's surprise. "Glace was possessed by the Darkness, I was pretty much alone for the entire time while inside the Pyramid, I fought Ghaul, the Fanatic, Crota, the Darkness spoke of the events, even... Cayde's passing" he explained much to his discomfort.
"We should get back to Eris then" Kara suggested, nodding toward Glace. "You can tell her everything".
"Kara..." Y/N stopped Supergirl for a moment, trying to recollect his thoughts. "I'm sorry" he apologized, much to her confusion, until she realized why.
"No, you don't need to apologize, it's okay" she held her shaken up boyfriend, sensing the fact he was overwhelmed. "Let's head back to Eris, I'll hear everything you have to say too".

[Reilrae | Dimaryp Ranul Eht | Ecnattimda]
"One by one, Crota slaughtered many Guardians (many Guardians). The Light stood by and did nothing (did nothing). And a Great Disaster ensued (ensued). In Light, there is only Death (Death)"
Y/N ignored the voice, continuing on after slaughtering Crota with his own sword once more, he looked a little rough on the edges but he pushed on, breathing in and out, taking a breath each step he took... All the way up to a flight of stairs.
"Respite lies ahead (lies ahead)"
Y/N continued up the flight of stairs, before seeing a black statue up ahead, draped in a veil, covering a figure, surrounded by Phantoms that watched the Guardian heading up the flight of stairs.
As he headed up these stairs, something popped out from above the statue up the stairs, a strange spherical artifact, resonating with a strange orange energy floated on down as Y/N was heading up still.
Soon after, he heard whispers... Unintelligible to understand still, speaking an unknown language he couldn't understand, the whispers were loud, eerie, disturbing...
"What the hell is this?" he asked himself, finally atop on the stairs, standing before the veiled statue, hesitant to approach the artifact that was presented toward him, the Pyramid gifted for him to take.
The whispers made it hard for him to think, finding them disturbing and irritating, he decided to approach the artifact that presented itself before him, holstering his gun cautiously, as he went to pick it up.
All of a sudden, his vision went dark and soon he found himself standing within a garden, with no artifact in sight.
He found himself not within the Pyramid anymore, he looked at his surroundings before taking a mental note to himself.
"Where the hell?" he contemplated, before noticing something was off... Of what location he found himself in... Before looking directly ahead of him. "Glace?" Y/N called out for his Ghost.
His eyes soon widened, those formation of rocks, the gardens and flowers... The atmosphere... Everything looked familiar to him, the garden of where he slain his first ever God and was renowned a hero for it.
The Garden of where the Vex worshipped its Black Heart...
"The Black... Garden?" Y/N blinked a few times, gulping down a lump in his throat with his stomach sinking. The artifact was either showing him a vision or it had brought him here for a reason.
He stepped forward to look down, finding an endless pitfall before him.
"You made it" a voice suddenly called out, a voice almost too... Familiar to Y/N that it caused him to question if he said it himself, with unintelligible whispers behind the voice.
He turned around at the sound of the voice. He soon noticed looming Pyramid ships in the sky before eying down the ominous figure ahead of him, must to his surprise it was taking...
His own appearance, speaking in his own voice.
He narrowed his eyes and eyebrows, staring down the figure ahead.
"We have heard your cries for help. And soon we will answer" the figure began walking up slowly with its fingers intertwined with one another like they were plotting something, which confirmed Y/N's eyes weren't deceiving him... It took his own appearance and voice, speaking in a corrupted manner, smiling with a disturbing nature.
"Who are you?" Y/N himself asked roughly, his hand twitching for his gun, before he felt nothing, which he looked down to see nothing, not even his holster which was concerning, no weapons on him at all.
The figure showed a demeanor look toward the Guardian, using his appearance. "Don't you recognize us?" it asked as it bowed in a strange way before standing up straight once more, walking toward the Guardian again.
"We are not your friend..." it walked closer, making Y/N back up a little.
"We are not your enemy..." it continued on toward him. Y/N stepped back further, before he stumbled near the ledge of the endless pit, cussing to himself not to fall.
"We are your..."
"SALVATION"
