S1 - Ch.28 - The Drama Cometh

It was a quiet day, nothing going on in the city that was too serious, no alerts rung out of any criminal activity, hell this early everyone was still in bed, laying comfy. Everyone except Cassie...
She tossed and turned under her blanket, cold sweat dripping down her face, she'd knocked over her things on the nightstand and thrown pillows about in her slumber.
Finally, with a gasp, Cassie jolted awake, her heart pounding against her chest. She sat up in bed, trying to shake off the remnants of the dream that lingered like a haunting shadow.
Gathering her wits, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood up, her muscles tense from the ordeal. Glancing out the window, she caught sight of Kara, soaring gracefully through the morning sky, her cape catching the wind trailing behind her.
Cassie let out a heavy sigh and ran a hand through her tousled hair. She needed something to ground her, something to chase away the lingering sense of dread. With a determined stride, she made her way to the kitchen, the familiar scent of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air.
As she poured herself a cup, Tim entered the room, his keen eyes taking in her disheveled appearance. "Well, you look like you've gotten sleep," he remarked casually.
Cassie shot him a sideways glance, her expression guarded. "Yeah, you'd know about that, wouldn't you?" she retorted, a hint of sarcasm creeping into her voice. Tim wasn't exactly one that gets a whole lot of sleep.
Tim raised an eyebrow, sensing the tension in the air. "What's on your mind, Cassie?" he asked gently, concern etched into his features.
Cassie waved him off, not in the mood to discuss her inner turmoil. "It's nothing, Tim. Just a bad dream," she replied dismissively.
Tim opened his laptop and started typing away, taking a few breaks to drink his coffee as Cassie looked out the window. "I don't buy that, what's on your mind? Really."
"I told you, just a bad dream." Cassie said as she kept staring out the window. Her dreams have been getting more... Frequent. More... Vivid. She didn't like what she saw one bit, but a lingering sense of dread was enough to tell her that she might have to face it head on one day.
What's so bad about dreams right? In her world, dreams have power, but surely it couldn't prove a more difficult challenge than what she's done already, right?
She took a long sip from her coffee mug as she reassured herself, staring out the window. "It's about Kara, isn't it?" Tim ventured, his tone soft but probing.
Cassie flinched, this was enough to give it away to him, but Cassie tried to deny it, but she knew her efforts would remain fruitless. "No, it's- I-... It's complicated."
Cassie clenched her jaw, her resolve faltering. "It doesn't matter," she muttered, her gaze drifting towards the window once more.
Tim shook his head, his expression grave. "This... Whatever it is that's been bothering you these past few nights. We need to talk about this, Cassie. Ignoring it won't make it go away," he urged, reaching out a comforting hand.
Tim stood from his chair and closed his laptop, jamming it into the grey backpack slung on one of his shoulders. "I don't know much about what's going on in your head, Cass, but take it from a guy that had to live with Batman for a while. Keeping yourself closed off will only make it harder."
"There's nothing to keep closed about, Tim." Cass said, starting to get frustrated.
"I know you're not the closest friends with Kara, but you really do need to talk about it." Tim pestered on.
"I'll..." Cassie sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose "I'll think about it."
Tim went to leave the room, but turned back to Cassie before he entered the elevator "Conner wouldn't want you to treat Kara as his replacement, she's her own person." He said as he hitched a ride on the elevator.
Cassie recoiled slightly, her frustration bubbling to the surface. "Stop playing detective, Tim," she snapped, her voice tinged with annoyance.
"It doesn't take a detective to figure you out, Cassie." Tim replied as the doors closed and cut off the elevator.
Cassie looked at her reflection in the coffee, thinking about the conversation she just had. She didn't like not having control. It was as if on the other side of her reflection was the her that she saw. The one that kept telling her things.
It felt frustrating to have all the power she had only to be rendered down to a pitiful being because of what she saw. She shook it off, setting it aside for later and walked to the sink, splashing water on her face and deciding she needs to unwind for a bit. She fished her phone out of her pocket and checked social media before spying the new mall where the grand statue of Superman used to be before it was knocked down in one of his fights with Luthor in the past.
. . .
Cassie strutted around at the mall in civilian clothing yet still wearing a wonder woman bomber jacket, using wide round sunglasses to cover up her eyes so there's a smaller chance of being recognized.
So far she's seen nothing interesting at the mall to preoccupy her. The arcade was good for a while, but it got boring, the food court there was a tad overpriced, but the taste of an iced coffee really didn't bring her around.
She was contemplating just going back to the tower to get some sleep, when she caught sight of a small jewelry store tucked away in a corner of the mall. Intrigued, Cassie wandered over and peered through the window, her interest piqued by the dazzling array of gems and baubles on display.
Entering the store, Cassie found herself surrounded by a glittering assortment of rings, necklaces, and bracelets, each piece more exquisite than the last. As she browsed, her mind began to wander, the tension from earlier slowly melting away as she lost herself in the beauty of the jewelry.
But the more she looked, the more she saw her reflection, getting reminded of the words her future told her.
Suddenly, a voice broke through her reverie, causing her to startle slightly. "Can I help you find something?" asked the shopkeeper, a kindly older woman with a warm smile.
Cassie returned the smile, feeling a sense of ease wash over her in the woman's presence. "I'm just browsing, thank you," she replied, her voice soft.
Cassie wasn't in the mood anymore, slowly she slinked back into a corner behind the mall and flew off back to the tower.
As Cassie soared through the sky, the cool wind whipping against her face, she couldn't shake the nagging feeling that had plagued her all day. Despite the distraction of the mall, the tension still lingered, a heavy weight pressing down on her chest.
Arriving back at the tower, she found herself greeted by the familiar sight of her teammates going about their daily routines. Kara was there, her expression brightening as she caught sight of Cassie's return.
"Cassie, hey! Where did you disappear off to?" Kara called out, her voice carrying across the room.
Cassie forced a smile, her unease hidden beneath a façade of nonchalance. "Just needed some air," she replied vaguely, not wanting to delve into the details of her outing.
But Kara wasn't one to let things slide easily. She approached Cassie, concern etched into her features. "Is everything okay? You seemed... off earlier, heard you muttering something in your room" she remarked, her tone gentle.
Cassie's smile faltered, her mask slipping for a moment before she quickly regained her composure. "I'm fine, Kara. Just a rough bit of sleep, that's all," she reassured, brushing off Kara's concern with a wave of her hand.
Kara studied her for a moment, her blue eyes searching Cassie's face for any sign of deception. Satisfied, she nodded, though the concern still lingered in her gaze. "Well, if you ever need to talk about it, I'm here," she offered, her voice soft.
Cassie's chest tightened at Kara's words, the guilt gnawing at her conscience. She wanted to confide in Kara, to tell her about the turmoil that had been plaguing her thoughts all day. But the fear of what Tim had said, and the fear of losing control, held her back.
Instead, she plastered on a fake smile and nodded. "Thanks, Kara. I appreciate it," she replied, her voice hollow.
The tension between them hung thick in the air, a silent barrier separating them as they stood there, lost in their own thoughts. Cassie could feel the weight of Tim's words pressing down on her, a constant reminder of the rift that had formed between her and Kara unbeknownst to the Kryptonian.
But before she could say anything else, a loud crash echoed through the room, drawing their attention to the source of the disturbance. Tim stood there, a sheepish grin on his face as he tried to steady the pile of books he had knocked over.
"Oops, my bad," he chuckled nervously, shooting them an apologetic look.
Cassie's frustration boiled over at the interruption, her patience wearing thin. "Tim, could you be any more clumsy?" she snapped, her tone laced with irritation.
Kara shot Cassie a reproachful glance, her eyebrows furrowing in concern. "Hey, lay off him, Cass. It was just an accident," she chided gently, coming to Tim's defense.
Cassie clenched her fists, her temper flaring as she struggled to keep her composure. "I'm sorry, Kara, but I can't just stand by and watch him make a mess of things," she retorted, her voice strained.
Tim held up his hands in surrender, his expression sheepish. "Hey, I said I was sorry, didn't I?" he offered, trying to diffuse the tension.
But Cassie wasn't having any of it. "Sorry doesn't cut it, Tim. This isn't the first time you've caused trouble," she snapped, her frustration reaching its breaking point.
Kara stepped between them, her arms outstretched in an attempt to defuse the situation. "Okay, okay, let's all just calm down," she urged, her voice soothing.
But Cassie wasn't about to back down. "No, Kara, I'm done with this. I can't keep pretending like everything's fine when it's not," she declared, her voice trembling with emotion.
Kara's eyes widened in surprise, her expression shifting from concern to confusion. "What are you talking about, Cassie? What's going on?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry.
Cassie took a deep breath, steeling herself for what she was about to say. "I'm talking about you, Kara. You're a liability to the team, especially with your boyfriend Y/N," she blurted out, the words tumbling from her lips before she could stop them.
Kara recoiled as if she had been slapped, her eyes wide with shock. "What? Cassie, how could you say that?" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with hurt.
But Cassie was beyond reasoning, her anger consuming her. "It's the truth, Kara. You're putting us all in danger with your recklessness," she insisted, her voice rising with each word.
Tim stepped forward, his expression grave. "Cassie, that's enough. You're out of line," he interjected, trying to calm the situation.
But Cassie wouldn't be swayed. "No, Tim, I'm not out of line. I'm just telling it like it is," she argued, her voice ringing with conviction.
Kara's eyes brimmed with tears, her voice choked with emotion. "I can't believe you'd say that, Cassie. After everything we've been through together," she whispered, her heart breaking with each word.
Cassie's resolve faltered, a pang of guilt shooting through her at the sight of Kara's pain. But before she could apologize, Kara turned on her heel and stormed out of the room, her cape billowing behind her.
"Yeah, you're a really good friend, you know? Do me a favor, lose the number," Kara spat, her voice thick with anger and hurt, before flying off into the night.
Cassie watched helplessly as Kara disappeared into the darkness, her heart heavy with regret. She had let her anger get the best of her, and now she had driven away one of her closest friends.
Tim placed a comforting hand on Cassie's shoulder.

(Prime's part)
"Would be a nice night for a flight with my ship, wouldn't it?" Y/N mentioned to himself, before walking back up into a Vex unit which looked down at him. "Oops, sorry. Forgot you were there".
"I heard about a ship crashing down not so long ago in a part of a city called Gotham, I'm guessing that was yours?" Praedyth took his eye off the Vex console for a moment, looking over to the Guardian and his Ghost.
"Yeah... That was *garble* something to remember, our ship got shot down pretty much" Glace answered Praedyth's question as he proceeded to continue his work.
"So... What have you got?" Y/N then asked.
"I'm still researching the chances of success of connecting Earth to Earth travel with using the Vex Network as a gateway to each, but tests have been... Unsuccessful so far" he answered sharply. "My Ghost thinks it could do with the residue of Taken Energy still within the Vex Network, which is still clearing up as we speak".
"So... You're saying I'm gonna be stuck here for many more months?" Y/N questioned.
"Let alone, if this works? You're memory of this place could still be wiped, making you forget we even met, or have met others here on this parallel Earth, but I'm working on something that could potentially prevent that from ever happening" he talked smartly, almost like Osiris talked in a way which made Y/N and Glace look at each other.
"You sound like Osiris when you say that".
"Osiris? The Warlock?? Heh... He wishes he could be me" he snarked, continuing on his work. "I'll let you know when I find something, until then? Until we meet again" Praedyth waved off Y/N and his Ghost as they began to leave.
"Glace, check for any previous missed messages, see if anyone's sent anything" Y/N asked his Ghost nicely.
The Ghost showed a hologram in front of the Guardian, using his finger to swipe down at some texts through the integrated phone software Glace downloaded into her shell. "Just a few, a word from Booster Gold. Saying 'thank you for the drink'. It's a shame what happened still".
"Yeah, losing a best friend is tough... Heh... Funny how it also happened to me, Cayde and all" he deepened his voice a little, sorrow building up before he looked back at the next text.
"Nightwing texted, saying his team snatched up sightings of Hive activity within a cavern. Hive and their caverns..." Glace cussed the Hive as distaste in her words.
"Hmm... The usual stuff, nothing too major yet. Seems they apprehended them" he now exited the Vex Fortress, the night sky a little darker than earlier. "It was evening when we got here... Shit, Kara might've returned home by now".
"Then I suggest transmat, long range. She... Isn't responding to her communicator" Glace brought up, which Y/N looked a little too optimistic.
"She's probably getting dressed, and put it somewhere. Anyways... Fire the transmat" he gave Glace the green light, his body lit up a light blue before he felt himself dissolve and reassemble moments later.

[New York City USA | 8:34pm | Y/N and Kara's Shared Apartment]
His boots touched the floor as he transmatted in and happily sighed. "Kara, I'm hoooome!!" he shouted before spotting the girl on the couch.
However... he noticed he didn't respond, got silence instead. "Kara? Angel??" he called her name out, still nothing as he began to approach. "Kara, are you-" he stopped as soon as Kara looked back at him, his eyes beginning to widen in shock, a little cried whimper escaping her.
"Oh no" Glace's voice dropped at the sight of Kara also.
His heart dropped at the sight of her, the area surrounding her eyes were red, tears falling down her eyes as more whimpers escaped her, a burst of tears streamed down at the sight of seeing her boyfriend, seeing her crying on the couch, still in her fabled Supergirl attire.
"Y-Y/N" a teary voiced Kara mumbled in a shaky breath, bursting into more saddened emotion when facing her boyfriend.
"Oh Traveler, Kara.." he wasted no time and rushed over to her, sitting on the couch. The girl immediately crashed into his embrace as soon as he went over, sobbing and shaking as he felt her. Her face was digging into his chest, letting her sobs be muffled.
Questions screamed in Y/N's head... What happened?! Why is Kara crying?! Who made her upset?!! He knew it wasn't the best time to ask, hearing Supergirl's muffled sobs was enough for him not to ask anything right now.
She began mumbling something, Y/N couldn't tell what she was saying, even if she placed her head at the side to hear his heartbeat up close rather than use her super-hearing to do it.
"Ssh-Ssh, it's okay..." he began rocking her. "You can tell me after" he cooed, her sobbing were more clearer now, with little whimpers escaping her as more tears fell down.
She tightened her grip around him, wanting his warmth which she needed the most, shaky, shallow breaths snuck out of her as she felt Y/N's gloved thumb trace around her golden hair. Her long cape now covering him, which covered her also.
Y/N stared down onto the fully colored in yellow House of El sigil on Kara's cape, his eyes drifting out its S and shield as he continued hearing Kara's sobs beginning to quieten down a little, the girl had been through a lot lately and this seeing her like this upon coming back? Was not on his list of things.
To see his girlfriend? The cousin of Superman, the Girl of Steel and Maiden of Might, Supergirl be vulnerable like this the now? Was something that the Guardian never thought he'd see, the last time she was like this? It was during her first few weeks being on Earth. Recently being diagnosed with Kryptonite Poisoning sure made her life a little more hectic than it already was.
Glace took notice of the situation as Y/N looked at his Ghost with a worried intent in his expression as Kara continued sobbing quietly, which then the Ghost looked at the table, hearing something give out a spark.
"Oh no..." she quietly said, but not quiet enough for both Kara and Y/N to hear, she didn't bother to look, but she knew Glace found the T-Phone, now crushed on the coffee table by her own hand.
"Guardian... Look" Glace's eye suggested him to look at the table in front of him more clearly, his eyes widening at the sight of a destroyed T-Phone, the sides seemingly crushed along with a picture of Cassie and Kara... Ripped.
Glace had never seen Y/N's facial expression turn from sad to anger in just a few short moments.
"C-C-Cassie.... Sh-She-" her words were little to being slurred, a lump was in her throat and she couldn't gulp it down, but Y/N could understand the situation more clearly... Kara didn't have to say anything.
"I can tell" he told her calmly, but soothingly for her to hear.
"A-Am I-I, r-reckless?" she struggled to speak but Y/N could make out what she said, his eyes drifted down to her head, seeing the side of her face.
"Reckless?" he asked, seeing a visible nod from her while he felt it also. "No... No god no, you're not... You've never been reckless from what I've heard" he cooed. "Though you can be clumsy and I mean it in a good way".
"Y/N, I don't think now is the time" Glace scolded him slightly.
"She knows I don't mean it in a bad way" he argued back.
"Am I... A-A liab-b-bility?" Kara then muttered, the shock on Y/N's face said it all when he looked back down at her.
"Kara, what're you...?" his eyes widened the moment he began to put the pieces together a little, his anger showing on his face once again. "No... You're not, if you think you're a liability to anyone, that's not true" he told her straight forward and center, not wanting her to even think that she was any of those things...
Kara for sure maybe clumsy, even in a bad situation... But she was as hell was not reckless or a liability, no matter what people say about her to hurt her in a way. Hearing that from her... 'best friend' hurt her in many ways that could make her Heart of Steel... Break. Showing that even steel~
Can be broken...
He then looks up at his Ghost, Glace knew how angry he was, and she began to feel the same, the ripped picture of Wonder Girl and Supergirl began to make sense, if Kara was muttering all this?
Then the two had a falling out seemingly, which is what happened...
"I-I'm n-not?" she looked up at Y/N, tears still in her eyes as a few dropped down, seeing how angry he was. It scared her in a way but his expression soon softened once he looked back down at her.
He awed in sight of her face, using his thumb to wipe the tears away from her face as he smiled down at her.
"You're not a liability or reckless, Supergirl... And I'm assuming..." he tilted his head forward a little to gesture to the table, Kara proceeded to nod her head in silence.
"It was about you, too" she mumbled to Y/N who closed his eyes for a moment.
He only heavily sighed in return, Kara could see the disappointment and anger in his tone, he knew not to do something reckless but knowing Y/N's way of dealing with things?
He's known to go after those who hurt his close ones... Physically or mentally...
A simple whirl came out from Glace before she spoke. "I know what you're thinking... Don't" she warned against his thought. "Last thing we don't need is another team of heroes against our backs".
"I'm not... I just want to have a word with her..." he said in simpler terms as Glace shook herself.
"Y-You don't have to..." Kara lowly replied.
The Guardian stayed silent for a moment, taking in Kara's and Glace's word, in a way? Glace was right...
The last thing they don't need is another team against them on their backs, Tim must've not condoned whatever else Cassie said that upset Kara, but his judgment of the destroyed T-Phone and the ripped photo?
It was fair to say that Supergirl is no longer on the Titans.
This broke his heart, every day he'd hear Kara talk about the Titans, how she felt honored to be apart of a team, to have him come along to help them on tasks that required his help.
Kara looked away from Y/N, looking past his chin toward the table of the destroyed T-Phone and ripped photo, before she began to feel her eyes water again and closed her eyes to fight back the tears again, a sniffle escaped her soon after.
"She said I was a liability to the team... Especially with you, then s-sssaid I was... Putting the team in danger for... Being r-reckless" she went out of her shell to vent what happened, hearing no response worried her mostly. "Y/N?".
"I heard you" he responded with slight annoyance, not toward her, but toward the situation. "She invited you, took you in, showed you around... Introduced you and I to everyone. And-"
"Stop" Kara interrupted, pausing Y/N. "I know..." she sniffled, before exhaling a deep breath.
"Alright" he nodded. Kara looked up at him again which was then he pulled himself forward to plant a kiss on her lips, a kiss Kara surely needed to sooth her further.
A small smack of lips recoiled back a little after a few short moments, their eyes opening again as they both acknowledged each other.
"Is there anything you need?" he asked her softly.
"To wake up beside you" the girl mumbled, making him smile. "And maybe something to eat, dinner?" she suggested further.
"Yeah, we can do that" he nodded, followed up with a little kiss on her temple. "Guess you want one of those takeaway dinners, right?" he softly cooed. Her ears perked up along with her expression. "A takeaway of your choice?"
"Yeah" a smile began to creep up the girl's face.
"There's the Kara I wanted to come back to" he smiled, chuckling a little at her dorkiness which died down not long after.
"Don't ruin it, please" she warned, kissing him afterwards, she still looked upset but she sure as hell felt more better now than earlier, Y/N could see it.
"Oh, Guardian... Incoming message" Glace whirled, gaining Y/N's attention.
"From who?" he questioned.
"From... Tim Drake?".
"Tim? He... He stuck up for me, Cassandra snapped at him earlier too" the Girl of Steel got off of Y/N and sat beside him, while still holding onto his arm, seemingly not letting go.
"So he's to be trusted right?" Kara nodded her head at Y/N direction.
"Said he wants to meet at the Titans Tower, he's alone on the roof" Glace continued.
"Why can't he just... Oh... Right" he remembered not having communications with the Titans.
He looked down at Kara who nodded her head in return. "It's okay, I'll order the dinner like you said, anything I want" she gave him a little smile.

[San Francisco USA | 8:58pm | Titans Tower]
Tim cautiously walked back-in-fourth, nervous about what he was doing right now. He had a feeling it could go two ways...
He directly sent a message to Kara's boyfriend, through his Ghost alone, curtesy of Nightwing. Kara was one of the people Tim cared about in a way, like a sister he never had, seeing her upset and flying off due to Cassie's hurtful words, made him wanting to know if Y/N got the word about it.
His nervousness soon rose up more when he heard a shimmer and the sound of combat boots close by, turning round to face a hooded Guardian who seen pulled his hood down to reveal his face... He didn't look too happy.
"What is it?" he asked in a sharp tone.
Tim stared back for a moment before he came to his senses, knowing it was a little quicker than he thought, thinking Supergirl would fly him over instead. "I uh... Um...".
"If it's about Kara... I know" he crossed his arms.
"R-Right, down straight to the point" he chuckled nervously. "Uh... Look, about what happ-"
"Tim... I come back, thinking I'd be greeted to a cheery, caped girlfriend, but instead? I find her on the couch... In tears" he spoke over him before throwing out a destroyed T-Phone that his Ghost transmatted into his hand. "Where is she, Tim? I want to speak to her".
Tim was silent, he wasn't sure how to answer the Guardian, knowing he could easily erase him out of existence if he wanted.
"Where's Cassandra?!" he voiced out loudly this time, not wanting to waste time.
"She's gone..." Tim answered lowly. "She... Quit".
"Quit?" Glace muttered.
"Yeah... She quit, she... She felt regretful of what she said" Tim spoke up, seeing the look on Y/N's face showed he didn't care. "Not even if that... Matters to you".
"No... It doesn't... She's not reckless Tim, nor is she a liability to those around her, and what's got her saying she's one around me?! Hasn't Kara been through enough?" he questioned him.
"I was there, look I defended Kara"
"I know you did, she told me" the Guardian sighed. "But that doesn't give her the right to say that to Kara, she's been through a lot and now Cassie's got her thinking she's all those things she said".
"Yeah... I know" Tim sighed in return, thinking of what else to say. "How is she? Kara I mean".
Y/N took a moment to answer, thinking it was a dumb question to even answer, 'how do you think she is?!' "Upset, but she's calmed down. She loved being apart of this team, a team you openly invited her to".
"What Cassie did was out of line, and I'm sorry about that. Really, I am. The team's been through a rough time recently, the missions... Could've gone better" Tim sighed as he looked out to the city of San Francisco in the distance.
"And that gave her the right to kick Kara out the team? She never had a chance to defend herself, or anything" Y/N still wasn't too convinced.
"Look, I can't do anything since Cassie isn't in league with the Titans anymore as of recently, she quit before I sent the message to meet here" Tim told him fair and square, as much as it didn't satisfy Y/N in any sense.
"I know..." Y/N responded. "And I appreciate you sticking up for Kara".
"She's a... Was a valued member of the team, I would instigate her back but..."
"Forget it" Y/N brushed off. "Kara wants nothing to do with the Titans anymore, she said it herself before I left" he told her, a saddened expression now on Tim's face.
"I see" he nodded, understanding why.
"Well... If you see Cassandra next time? Tell her if she ever hurts Kara again... She'll answer to me" he began to walk off.
"Y/N, you know I can't-" he stopped to see him shimmer away in a dust of blue light, along with his Ghost. Tim sighed in silence... All alone.
He stared back at the city and began to think...

[New York City USA | 11pm | Y/N and Kara's Shared Apartment]
The little joy on Kara's face said it all when the stray cat had finally decided to move on into the apartment room through the window, after weeks and weeks of progress of bonding with the orange striped cat that stalked the apartment.
Kara could remember every time it swiped at her hand and broke his claws each time, due to her Kryptonian, impenetrable skin nonetheless, she saw this as progress regardless.
Even if every week she'd buy in cat food to try get him to like her, he'd hiss and spit at her, but recently? It began to show trust in the Kryptonian, sometimes often coming up to her knowing she had food for him, the cat was smart.
She even began naming him "Streaky" which Y/N found adorable, the cat was mostly friendly with him when it came round in the earlier days of the apartment, Kara was no acception until recently.
"C'mere" she happily clapped like a little girl on her birthday when she got a present she wanted, Y/N sat and watched from the couch as the girl, clad in a blue T-shirt with her family glyph on it which she got from a merch store downtown, and red short shorts.
"Hi Streaky! Hi" Y/N was happy to see Kara's big smile return once again, even if a cat would bring her more happier side out again, though the food surely brought her mood back up.
Kara happily giggled at the cat licking her hand. "Ah! It tickles".
"I think he's starting to like you a lot more now" Y/N spoke over to Kara who smiled back at him in response.
"Yeah, he seems to be" she giggled, hearing a mrrp from the cat, gaining Kara's attention as he rubbed his face on Kara's hand, his nose was wet... Whatever that meant for Kara.
"That's cute" he pointed out the cat's action, before the cat stretched, putting Kara in awe as she began petting the cat gently, beginning to purr at Kara's touch.
"You hear that? Streaky's purring!" she tried to not get too excited, in case she spooked him.
The Guardian proceeded to go over to Kara, sitting down beside her to spend time with the new visitor. "Can we keep him?" Kara questioned looking at Y/N.
"Up to you, I wouldn't mind having a cat" he shrugged, before he felt Kara hugging him in joy, even laying a loving kiss on his cheek, trying to contain her excitement still to not spook Streaky.
"Omigod! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Kara giggled with excitement, as Streaky came back round, trilling at Y/N next which followed in the Guardian petting the orange cat.
"Just gotta be careful with Glace, he might think she's a toy" he smirked.
"Hey!" she said in his head. "I am no one toy!".
"I didn't say... Ugh, why do I even bother?" he questioned himself, hearing a snicker come out from the Girl of Steel beside him after so.
"I can tell what she said" Kara Zor-El softly spoke to her boyfriend, petting Streaky after him who still purred.
"So is Kara Zor-El, Supergirl happier now?" he asked as Kara's happy expression died for a moment...
Before it came back up. "I feel more better now, I have you, had the food and... We now have a cat... I think I feel a little more better now" she nodded.
"That's great... Great news" he nodded, before the girl pulled him in for a kiss.
