S1 - Ch.10 - Supergirl
"Mayday. Mayday! This is Air Force One. We're going down and the President is on board. I repeat: The President is on board".
A gush of wind zooms out the window of a room that belonged to the newest Superheroine on Earth, Supergirl aka Kara Zor-El, the cousin of Superman himself. Who was currently staying at Paradise Island for the last few months since her introduction to the Superhero Community.
Overhearing the man on the radio with her super-hearing, detailing their flight was in jeopardy, Air Force One was going down. She quickly put on her new updated suit with the skort (A skirt with shorts underneath), and a goldish yellow end to her sleeves on her crop top. An outfit she felt fit her style a little more better, especially with the shorts under her skirt for a more comfortable feeling. Difference between the skirt she wore before is that there wasn't her family crest on the belt, now there was with the added yellow outline to match her cape.
She attached a pouch onto the right side of her belt, carrying a device and would then zoom off into the direction of the high frequency broadcast call from Air Force One.
This was a job, not for Superman, but for Supergirl.
The last few months have been nothing but saving the day after day for Kara Zor-El, finding her place on Earth as a Superhero, stopping crimes all over the world, stopping terrorists and catastrophes, she was making a name for herself that she couldn't even keep count of how many good deeds she's been doing these last few months.
She darted through the sky, fists in front of her as her speed increased to Mach 10 speeds, soaring through the rain as Air Force One was coming into her clear view, the smoke and panicked voices aboard the plane, making it easier to detect along with it's shut down engines.
The plane sustained heavy damage with its left wing, gulfs of fire on the plane's walls on the outside, just where the wing would be attached to as the engines on that side engulfed up in a raging fire.
'How did this plane sustain this much damage?' questioned Supergirl, it seemed to have been hit by some rocket, she quickly x-rayed the plane for passengers and anything else, the President was on board, seems that was correct, but the flares hadn't been shot out.
It appeared someone used a undetectable homing missile, shaking her to the core, seemingly a failed assassination attempt if she or her cousin had picked up the emergency broadcast from Air Force One themselves. The same thing happened with the Hoover Dam, a missile hit the Hoover Dam according to witnesses that were there, maybe it was a warning for things yet to come? She wasn't very sure but she nonetheless, saved a lot of people, without any casualties.
She flew under the plane itself after calculating how she was going to make the plane safely land by guiding it down safely, noticing the fires could and perhaps spread into the plane through convection.
Her eyes lit up red before shooting out lasers upon narrowing her eyes at the wing, precisely working to separate the wing on fire from the plane, cutting it off with precision as she then continued her efforts to guide the plane down as she overheard the pilot on board call out on the radio of them being guided down by someone, already guiding the plane to land at the nearest airport.
It was then she could feel a presence known to her, nearby as she began guiding the aircraft down, a familiar heartbeat within the rainy sky, it was her super cousin, Superman, seemingly observing how she was handling the situation, she had one possible reason as to why.
'Guess he wants to see if I can handle this on my own, heh Cuz?' she smiled.
"She's improving a lot" Superman heard Batman on his comms.
"I'm proud of her Bruce, it's good she's improving" Kal responded with a cherished smile.
"It won't be long until she becomes a target, especially your rogue gallery" the Bat replied with a grumbled tone.
"She'll be ready, Diana told me she's been studying the Oracle files" Superman proclaimed. "She knows what she's getting herself into".
"We'll see" Batman put in the final word before signing off the comms, continuing to watch from the orbital satellite from his Bat-Computer.
"Always gets the last say, doesn't he?" Clark rolled his eyes.

Justice League Watchtower, Luna/Moon
Out of all the places in the universe... Nothing amazed the Guardian and his Ghost, more than an operating and functional Moonbase, a very large one in fact.
On his Earth, there was a Moonbase, but it wasn't functioning as it was during the Golden Age, it was infested with Fallen and Hive from what he remembered.
Luna was where the Great Disaster happened, many Guardians died on Earth's Moon, killed by Crota, Son of Oryx and his brood. Crota wasn't just any normal Hive...
He was a God, a Hive God.
It wasn't until Eris Morn, who originally went with her Fireteam of six Guardians, went down into the Hellmouth to face Crota and his brood... And only one came out alive after their objective failed.
Eris was the one who survived, traumatized and changed forever, her mind and body alone had changed to make it as if she was a Hive, but she wasn't, her mind was still her own.
She had guided him after he took her call to prevent Crota's return to the physical world through his Throne World and was successful... However... Crota was bound to his Throne World and with that? He joined with a group of five other Guardians to head down into the Hellmouth, and finish what Eris could not...
Kill Crota and his powerful brood...
If only they had known the consequences of killing Crota...
However... That was the past, and now he's within a functioning Moonbase, a Watchtower the League and everyone else called it.
And it had an AR training room, where the Guardian was inside right now, with Green Arrow, aka Oliver Queen.
The training dummies were taking the form of known Taken enemies, due to Glace sharing data onto the Justice League systems, but not all of her data, at least for now.
Oliver hadn't seen the Guardian in action, nor the Taken before hand, he felt the feeling strange knowing that there was an Earth out there where he and everyone else here didn't exist, and that a God came to his Earth and brought about a Golden Age.
Again... He doesn't know much about alternative timelines better than Barry Allen, the Flash, does.
Many heroes, since Y/N and his Ghost were introduced to the Superhero Community, has done nothing but praise the Guardian's efforts in his time spent, working with them with a few instances where he was needed.
More Shards of Light were found the following weeks after his introduction, he gave certain heroes, tips and advice, along with his experience on fighting the Taken, giving them a little background on what the Taken are.
"For all the weirdest creatures I've seen... Those take the cake" Ollie spoke to himself as he watched the Guardian double jump over an Executioner Taken Knight with its sword in hand as it swung its sword at him, but missed.
"Wait till you face them in person" Y/N responded to Ollie's mumble, his Ghost replying to Y/N on what Ollie had said.
"How did you hear what I said?" Oliver asked with concern, and he was a little shocked.
"Through my Ghost" he reminded him while summoning his Blazing Blades and struck down the training dummy in the form of the Taken Sword-Bearer Knight.
"Oh... Of course" Ollie said with a dumbfounded tone, forgetting the Guardian has an assistant in some form, his Ghost in other words, the one who brought him back with a second chance and made him a Guardian out of it.
The room began to shift back to normal upon the Guardian eliminating the last target, on top of a sniper position, clearing the room out within at least two minutes and thirty-one seconds which was an impressive score.
"That only took you two minutes and over half a minute, I've never seen anyone like you work like that" Oliver complimented the Guardian's efforts as he walked out the AR room, before his Ghost materialized beside him.
"And we do this everyday pretty much" he responded.
"Everyday? Not even a little break every now and then?" Green Arrow asked with a concern for the Guardian.
"Sometimes then and there, but Y/N isn't one to pipe down when there's a situation brewing" Glace spoke for her Guardian as he holstered his hand cannon after loading in a new cartridge into the chamber.
"Glace is correct, not known to sit when there's business to deal with. Do I have food breaks? Only when I'm hungry, Guardians gotta eat and drink too, we can die from starvation believe it or not" Y/N added in as the two continued walking down the hall.
"So... You're telling me an immortal person like yourself... Can still die from just natural things a Human can die from? Oliver asked, the Guardian nodded. "But you don't need sleep much?".
"Eh... Depends honestly" he shrugged.
"What about... Sickness? Can you all fall ill?".
"Mhm, we can still get sick, it's happened to many Guardians before. Human Guardians can still fall ill from mundane illnesses, but our Ghosts can pretty much erase all traces of sickness" he revealed to a shocked Oliver, who was about to say something about this new info. "But that doesn't mean we haven't found cures to combat illnesses, because we have".
"That's... A lot to take in, for me personally" Oliver rubbed his eyes through the mask for a moment to take in all of what the Guardian revealed.
"Well... I told you that most of the Golden Age medicine and cures were lost due to the Collapse, if it weren't and we discovered a way of interdimensional travel? Maybe we could've brought the cure for Cancer to your world and many more that don't have a cure for it" Y/N briefly responded as they were walking up to the observatory room, where the room had a teleporter within.
"You know it makes me wonder?" Green Arrow then pondered. "Do you remember anything about this... Collapse you and Glace speak of? Forgive me for asking".
"No need for an apology. For your question? No... I don't... All we know is that a Darkness came, which had hunted the Traveler down for eons according to many who spoke for the Traveler, and centuries after... That Darkness found us... And wiped almost all of humanity by putting them into near extinction" Y/N answered Queen's question, which the answer momentarily shocked the archer before he kept his mouth shut upon entering the room.
The room was condoned by the appearance of the Flash aka Barry Allen and Martian Manhunter, J'onn J'onzz, the Martian from Mars.
"Ey look who's back" Flash turned around to see the two walked in, along with Y/N's Ghost who floated beside the Guardian himself.
"How did the AR training room go for you?" J'onn asked the Guardian who looked happy enough.
"Well I'm satisfied, aren't I? It was great, surprised that the training dummies were capable of doing and copying what the Taken can really do with the data Glace gave you all" he answered fully. "Come to think of it, why haven't the Vanguard done something like this?" he pondered to himself.
"I am glad to hear it was satisfying for you" the Martian smiled. "Though I know you haven't shared all of the data, your Ghost has, considering your other enemies that may or may not come here".
"Wait... How did... Oh... I forgot..." he rolled his eyes.
"He can read a person's mind" Glace finished off Y/N's words.
"All in due time, we don't even know if it will happen, but if it does? We will need your information on those certain foes of yours" J'onn gave a smile.
"Hey, look over there" Flash pointed out at the window as he took a step onto the observation platform, grabbing everyone's attention at the two flying red streaks outside, far away.
"Who is it?" Oliver asked.
Y/N's iris's in his eyes glowed his desired dimmed color as he zoomed in with his integrated lenses at the window, witnessing Supergirl seemingly beating Superman in a race of sorts... Or a training exercise. "Heh... Best friend beating her cousin in a race of sorts" he smiled. Seeing a growing smirk on Kara's face as she zoomed past the watchtower from afar. "That's my girl" he mumbled under his breath, a bigger smile appearing on his face upon walking up to the window upon Supergirl disappearing out of sight.
"Had a feeling it was them" Flash stated. "You sure that's what they're up to?" he then asked.
"Like Y/N theorized, a race... Or possibly a training exercise, Flash... Or..."
"Don't leave me dangling in suspense, J'onn - - Or what?!" Flash asked for an answer from the Martian as a smile grew on his face.
"She is, after all, a teenager and he is an adult. She could simply want to ditch him" he answered finally after a suspenseful few seconds.
"Ha, I wish her luck" Y/N's smile grew as he began to take his leave.
"Where are you heading?" Oliver asked as the Guardian walked past.
"To Metropolis" he revealed. "Come on Glace!".
"Uh... Coming!" Glace took her attention away from the nearby console and made her way back to her Guardian before disappearing out of sight physically, now within their pocket dimension, aka Y/N's backpack of sorts.
"Why? Thought Metropolis was Clark's turf?" Oliver then questioned to which the Guardian smirked.
"It's for another reason" he looked back at him, a smirk still on his face. "Gonna give a call".
* *
Gotham City, USA.
After checking in briefly with Batman, Kara insisted she was going to patrol around Gotham for a little bit, if it didn't bother him much, and she'd call if she needs help.
She did have a feeling she was being watched, but it was for good reason, she is still quite new to this superheroing stuff and Kara knows it herself, some supervision wasn't all too bad... Depending on how long it would take.
During her patrol however... She did not expect to run into Batgirl... Or in other words, Barbara Gordon, who if Kara remembered, Barbara isn't much Batgirl anymore, simply more she's now the famed Oracle after a horrible incident involving the Clown Prince of Crime invading her home and shot her, which had immobilized her back completely, having to use a wheelchair for mobility now.
"Yes. I've... read a little about you" Kara played along, knowing someone was impersonating the original Batgirl, right in front of her as the Girl of Steel herself heard some commotion happening not far from where the two stood.
A bank was in the process of being robbed...
By Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.
"I gotta tell ya, Ivy. I miss this. Two girls out on town - -" Harley was preparing to swing her massive hammer at the vault door, while her partner in crime was in the process of coercing three security guards with guns.
--"Robbing banks and trains, just like old times, Harls" Ivy responded with a smile as a loud thunderous *WHAM!* blared out due to Harley hitting the vault door with the oversized hammer.
"Exactamundo!" Harley shouted in excitement, the vault door now bashed down with just one swing from her gigantic hammer, however... Her excitement was short lived as they would soon be intercepted with a *CRASH!* not long after she broke down the door. "Holy back door, Ivy" hers and Ivy's jaws dropped slightly at the sight of seeing Batgirl, seemingly back again? With a new face they had been hearing about... And a face they didn't expect to see in the form of Supergirl, showing up in Gotham.
"Well, well, well. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy" Batgirl scoffed. "(Sarcastic) Lemme guess? Private party and we weren't invited?".
"*Gasp!* how rude of you girls?! And I love parties!" Supergirl sarcastically spoke, though she was serious about loving parties, before clearing her throat. "Seriously girls? Our advice? Surrender. Now" the Kryptonian warned before Batgirl went to fight Poison Ivy.
Supergirl went on to subdue Harley Quinn, easy enough, right?
Wrong...
"Well, color me red and tickle me pink!" Harley smiled like a child at Christmas day. "I gotta get me about eleventeen of these whammers".
Within seconds, her smile disappeared as her hammer disappeared out of her hand, in the form of a red caped blur.
"Hey!" Harley snapped, before feeling herself being bound. "What the--!" by her own 'whammer'.
--"No fair. No fair! No fair!!" she huffed like a child, the steel completely bound her due to Supergirl's immense strength.
"I almost felt that" Supergirl stated. 'that was like getting hit by a boulder... And I can't feel that'
"OOOO... Poor baby" Harley stuck her tongue out. "Want mommy to kiss your boo-boo and make - -"
"Oh shut up" Kara pinged Harley's head with just her index finger while she rolled her eyes, knocking Harley back and unconscious.
"Guards! Shoot her!" the Girl of Steel then heard Ivy call out to the possessed security guards. "Kill Batgirl!".
With quick thinking, Kara zoomed in front of the bullets and let them bounce off of her, she in turn could've used her heat vision, but knowing they were innocent security guards possessed by Ivy? She didn't want to hurt them further.
"So you do the whole bullets bounce off thing too?" Batgirl asked with a smile.
"Well, it tickles, so..." the girl shrugged as she helped up Batgirl.
"Hey, Princess..." Ivy grabbed Supergirl's attention by making her turn round. "Tickle this" she spoke with reverse psychology, before kissing her on the lips as Kara's eyes widened.
(A/N: I should pin what the image is from the comics from now on tbh... Anyways... See Supergirl (2005) Issue #0 for future reference)
"Back off!" Kara broke free and pushed Ivy away with force, launching her into a wall which knocked her unconscious upon colliding, Ivy was known for mind controlling her victims with her kisses, but nothing seemed to have any effect on Supergirl.
"That was weird" Batgirl pointed out.
"Sure was" Kara spat the taste out of her mouth before wiping at her lips with her cape. "Especially for my first ever kiss" she admitted. It wasn't exactly the first kiss she wanted and one she wants to forget.
"No. Not the kiss itself" Batgirl corrected. "She once did the same thing to Superman and wham! Took total control over him" she continued as Kara turned her back for a moment. " Some kind of synthetic Kryptonite lipstick she got from Luthor. I wonder why it didn't effect you?".
"Now I got you" Kara quietly mumbled under her breath, catching out the perpetrator impersonating Batgirl.
Within a second, she heard the comms device order "Batgirl" to attack now, as the order was received... The perpetrator attacked and Supergirl snapped round and caught the fist.
"What?!"
"Nice try... Clayface" Supergirl smirked before punching the impersonator, now revealed and named Clayface, throughout the bank, before their fight headed toward the window, with Clayface getting launched through it as his form was now revealed.
"Guess you weren't paying attention when I said, I've read a little about you" Kara spoke from inside the bank, her arms crossed as her eyes glowed red within her shadowed figure.
"How did that synthetic Kryptonite not effect you?!" Clayface demanded an answer as Kara floated herself out the window.
"I don't know but that doesn't matter right now" she landed onto the ground, before blowing out a chilling wind of cold, freezing Clayface's legs and arms solid for a moment on the sidewalk as she then dug her fingers into the ground, snapping off the part of the sidewalk before putting all her strength into it, pulling out the hunk of pavement with her bare strength over her head.
"Whoa! What're you doing?!" Clayface shouted in panic, feeling himself and the ground lifting up.
"It's horrible what happened to the original Batgirl..." Kara instigated her condolences for Barbara Gordon, not that Clayface knew her secret identity, as the Girl of Steel took flight up until she was above the buildings of Gotham. "But I knew sooner or later you'd reveal yourself, Clayface" she took the pavement over to the sea.
Clayface knew the next moment he was screwed, he saw the ocean ahead of him as he broke free from the ice he was encased in, before the pavement itself was thrown into the water by Supergirl, as he cursed the girl out.
"Good riddance" she dusted off her hands as she watched him and the pavement plunge into the water.
"Diana was right, you have been studying the Oracle files" Kara then heard a familiar voice behind her in the form of Kal-El making his sudden appearance.
"I had a feeling you were watching" she turned around and smiled upon hearing him. "Doubting me or Diana, were you?" she asked with her fists on her hips while stationary in the air.
"Not exactly, doubting Diana... Nor you" he smiled back with his arms crossed.
"Well... I know you didn't come here for a show, I know you have something else to say, Cuz" she smirked, reading her cousin like a book.
"Oh-ho-ho, okay" the Man of Steel chuckled lightly. "I'm proud of you, Kara" he admitted, making the girl surprised with her jaw dropping. "First time out against Meta-Human Supervillains? You did good, and I'm proud of you handling it well".
"Wow... Thanks, Cuz" Kara lightly giggled, overjoyed with her cousin's approval. "I'm sure there was those times you could've jumped in and gave a hand, particularly in the street, but... You let me handle it. It's the only way I'm gonna learn this schtick, Kal... And I'm happy about it" Kara grinned in joy.
The Man of Steel nodded his head and was about to speak before a catchy beeping noise sounded out, with an included vibration which made Kara's heart flutter as she pulled it out of her pouch.
"Y/N" her smile grew big and bright... It had been almost a month since she last heard from him.
"He's in Metropolis right now" Kal informed her as she began to float off, seemingly about to fly off with a boost of speed. "You not going to answer that?".
"I want to surprise him, and I already know where he was, high frequency message detailing his location!" she quickly said before taking off with a boost of speed, a sonic boom happening not long after, with Clark smiling as she left.
"How'd it go?" Kal heard the tone of Batman's voice speak into his earpiece.
"She done well, Bruce... She done well...".
