Hey Wizard Ninjas!

I'm kind of freaked out right now, sitting in the middle of a park outside the theatre I am performing at tonight ^_^ SO I just thought I'd update.

Hope I don't get my laptop mugged from me.

Viper is not quite sure what to do.

One minute, she had been dragging Mongul along the ground with Wondergirl, Superboy and Arsenal. The team were celebrating victory.

It turns to chaos as Blue whacks Impulse in the back of the head with the crystal key. He turns and back-hands Swiftchick across the face.

Alley Cat manage to shoot Red Butterfly, after she fires her sonic cannon at Phoenix, Beast Boy, Orion and Batgirl. Red Butterfly is temporarily immobilized, but that does not stop Blue from firing his sonic at Alley Cat, Laurel Destiny and Guardian.

"Blue, what are you doing?" Superboy yells. Viper is almost frozen by the change. Beetle flies forward and knocks Superboy back.

Before Viper or Wondergirl can act, Blue Beetle grabs Viper by the upper arms and pulls her forward. Jaime shouts for the Scarab to not hurt her.

And Scarab can not.

He meerly shoots an alien knock-out gas from his shoulder armour that puts Viper to sleep immediately. As he places her down gently, Wondergirl begins screaming at him.

Reaching under Mongul, he pushes him over, causing Cassie to be crushed by the Alien's body mass. He then staples both of her hands to the floor.

No reaction comes when Robin throws his birdarangs. 

A battle between the Boy Wonder and Blue Beetle almost begins, when Bumblebee notices Arsenal stalking backward to the air lock.

"Arsenal, no!" She yells.

"I will not be taken again!"

The boy slams his fist on the air-lock and it bursts open.

"Let me go!" I scream at Doctor Fate, who has me entrapped in a magic stock-hold.

"The Warworld is shut down Star. There is no point in pursuing the Red Lantern. He's gone."

"But-"

"Star! Something's happened to the team!" Nightwing says into my com.

Doctor Fate releases me. I go to fly back to the Watchtower, but Nabu calls to me. "I have completed the translation. When the mission is over, I will bring it to the Watchtower."

All I can do is nod, fearful of what I may read. I find Nightwing on the Watchtower. He's staring at me gravely. 

"W-What happened?" I ask softly.

"They were taken," he replies.

My hands begin shaking. Mongul may have them. A war criminal. A mass murderer. All of those kids we put in harms way. I should have made Misty and Tim doc at the Watchtower, not the Warworld!

"H-How?" I whisper, keeping tears back.

"Captain Atom and Green Beetle are there now."

I open a portal and hold his hand as we go through, appearing on the Warworld. He let's go and stalks forward. I am relieved Jaime and Hazel are okay and hug the two of them.

"Alright, what happened? What happened to the rest of our team?" Nightwing yells.

"I-It's all my fault!" Jaime exclaims.

"Mine too," Hazel whimpers.

"Those assessments are inaccurate," Green Beetle says comfortingly.

"Just...tell them what you told us," Captain Atom says. I step back.

"We had won. We were all here in this bay, and Wondergirl had Mongul hog-tied. Then suddenly, a boom-tube opened up right beneath our feet! Red and I flew up and out; it was instinct, you know? But before we could do anything else, the boom-tube closed and the others were gone."

Nightwing opens his holo-computer. "Definitely reading traces of boom-tube activity," he says. 

"We think Mongul might have opened the boom-tube as a means of escape, gaining the team as captives in the bargain," Captain Atom says. "The Team...and worse."

"Impulse had the crystal key," Hazel cries.  

"So the priority is making sure no one uses it to reactivate the war world. Captain Marvel and Rocket are already guarding the key chamber.  The Justice League will continue guarding it in shifts, until the key is found and the threat is ended," Nathaniel goes on.

"If we could get the back," I begin, "I will hand it to the Guardians of the Universe for safe keeping. It will be rendered as either never to be used, or to be destroyed," I say.

 "It's all our fault..." Blue repeats.

 Nightwing sighs. "Stop," he says, placing a hand on Blue's shoulder. "You didn't do anything wrong. We'll figure this out. For now..."

"I will ensure they get home safely."

Hazel looks about ready to sleep, but Blue protests.

"N-No! I want to stay! I want to help!"

"You will help Blue," I say softly.

"But right now, you need rest. Sleep. Go," Nightwing finishes.

Doctor Fate opens a portal for them, seeing as I am exhausted. Hazel walk through. Green Beetle ushers Jaime in, but he stops at the portal and turns to me.

"I'm sorry I couldn't save them. I'm sorry I couldn't save Viper," he emphasizes. Strange. I've never heard him call her Viper before. It's always 'Daph'.

"No. Whoever did this, they'll be sorry," Nightwing says, then they leave.

"Locate Laurel Destiny's ring," I say into my own ring. It begins beeping more rapidly than usual. I turn in a circle. In one direction the beeping increases. 

The more I walk to this giant stack of boxes, the faster my ring beeps. 

I find the Laurel Destiny ring on the floor behind the stack. I pick it up, seeing small scratches on the side. I cover my mouth with my hand. Already I had almost lost her just two days ago.

Now I have actually lost her.

Instead of going into a crying fit, I take a deep breath and pocket the ring. 

"What now?" I ask.

"Well, we find the Team." 

"Um...we could try tracking them from the Watchtower?"

Nightwing and I were left to it, and discover there is absolutely no use. I end up accidentally denting the wall in frustration when I fail to contact any of the team.

"I'm sure we'll be able to track them if we...try harder," Dick reasons. "Or maybe we should go back to the Warworld."

I looked up. "I guess we could do the detective thing," I say.

"Exactly. Earth's best detective and the Teal Heart's best detective. We've got to find something right?"

I portal us to the team's last sighting. It's an awful place to be, so I let Nightwing venture on his own. I stay seated on the platform above the room.

He flips down and begins detective work. I smile, watching him walk around, muttering to himself. It's so cute. That's when he discovers Robin's birdarang.

Something catches my attention. It glistens in my eye from the dull light in the room. I fly down and walk over to it. 

A small, round metal disc with wires protruding from the sides. 

"What ya' got there?" Nightwing asks.

"Is this from your firearm things? The ones I gave to Alley Cat?"

I hand him the object and he inspects it for a second. Then he scans it. He waits for a while, before he does the Batman detective squinting thing.

"Robin's birdarang showed traces of Blue's armour. Now Alice's plate bullet is showing traces of Red's armour..." He mumbles.

The two of us glance each other, thinking the same things, but not saying anything.

We return to the warehouse. Nightwing sits over at the screen, Alice's plate bullet and Robin's birdarang in hand. I go over to the lounge and begin folding Garr and Conner's clean clothes.

A screen turns on and the Ambassador's voice goes booming through the warehouse. As usual he's saying how much Earth and the Reach need each other, and that he's a great guy.

Then he starts building the profile of two great heroes. A male and a female. It sounded so fake that I honestly thought Queen Bee and Lex Luther were about to walk out.

"Ladies and Gentlemen...I give you... Blue Beetle and Red Butterfly!"

Jaime and Hazel walk to the podium together in their armour. I can't quite comprehend the truth for a moment. I find myself running over to stand beside Nightwing as they talk.

 I  can pretty much feel the rage radiating off of him like heat. He grips Robin's birdarang, then snaps it, crushing the plate bullet at the same time.

Honestly it almost scares me, when the monitor starts beeping. I turn and sprint over to it.

"I found you!" I yell. 

I load the information onto my holo computer, before running over to the hangar lift. When I get there I jump into the Denominator and race out to find M'gann.
