Chapter Four
Clay's P.O.V.
Y/n and I held our breath while we were hiding inside her closet. I was worried that Y/n's parents would come into her room. But, as far we knew, they were still in the kitchen talking about a lawsuit. I was a little shocked when I heard them mention that they were going to sue Liberty High for Hannah's death. I never thought that the Baker's would sue the school, they just wasn't like them.
Y/n and I waited until the voices faded into the bedroom where they continued arguing, and Y/n and I took the chance to grab our backpacks and escape out of the window and back into Y/n's car. "Did you know about this?" I asked still in shock by what I heard. "No! I didn't know about this lawsuit! They never told me!" She sighed resting her forehead against the steering wheel.
"What time is it?" she muffled. I looked at my phone and I saw that time had flew by quickly because it was already 1:30. "1:30, what do you want to do now?" I asked. "I want to go to the graveyard, I need to talk to Hannah," she answered. I didn't think that was a good idea, but I didn't want to make her angry when she was already going through a lot.
"Okay," I said. She started the car, and we drove off towards the graveyard. When we arrived at Hannah's grave I could see tears start to fill Y/n's eyes. "I don't understand why she did what she did," She sobbed as she got on her knees in front of Hannah's grave, and I bent down next to her, and wrapped my arms around her. "They don't even have a headstone for her," She sniffled.
I looked over and sure enough, there was no headstone, just a small pick with Hannah's name and how old she was when she died. "They don't have a headstone for her yet, when someone dies suddenly, it takes them a while to make them," I explained.
"I wish I could've stopped her, she had so much to live for," Y/n said breaking down once again. I continued to hold Y/n for a while until she pulled away from me. "Hi Hannah, I know it's been while since I talked to you. I tried to go back to school Hannah, but I couldn't pull through, I'm sorry. I miss you so much Hannah, Why did you do it, Hannah? Why?" she sobbed looking at Hannah's grave.
Y/n started crying harder and covered her face with her hands and I lifted her chin up slightly until she was eye-to-eye with me. Her eyes were slightly red, and tears were streaming down her face. I felt so bad for her, and I didn't know what I could do to help her feeling better. Then, without a second thought, I leaned in placed my lips onto hers and kissed her again. When we pulled apart, Y/n looked a little shocked.
After Y/n talked to Hannah for a little while longer, we got back in her car and we headed to Monet's to get some coffee like originally planned.
