Single Chapter

Emptiness was all you could see. The Light wanted more than that, but Chaos destroyed everything it created. It was his pleasure.

In the void, there was no passage of time, there was no day or night, no sun or moon. It was all a colorless immensity and only two consciousnesses.

The light emanated a strong, golden, warm glow. There was nothing physical, just his specter that took shape according to his desire. Chaos was also pure energy, intense and also hot, but it wasn't a warming heat like light, it burned.

After all, what did Chaos gain by being so destructive? Wasn't all this loneliness terrible for him, too? For its entire existence, Light sought to create something. Once, he created a warm and red element, in another one with a different texture, the thing passed through his fingers and apparently could not mix with the previous creation, they were able to cancel each other out.

The light was already reaching something new, small, physical, robust and seemingly simple. That little thing mixed in with some of the basic elements she'd created grew, as did her collection of creations.

Having fun with her experiments, she can't avoid Chaos for all eternity. That heavy energy took over the laboratory and in a furious scream made everything shake.

Light took the lead and cast her power over Chaos, he couldn't destroy all of her things again. She wouldn't allow it.

Golden light and red energy collided with each other and for the first time, there was an explosion. Several small specks of dust began to surround the environment, and the Light shed a tear, feeling that once again she had failed.

— Do you think you can create something? Existence is as it is and cannot be changed. Accepted!

Luz turns around, ignoring the comment, staring at the only seed she managed to save.

— And what's that over there? This little thing...

They both spotted a small, flickering glow not far away. Dust from the explosion was gathering and taking shape. With an expression of fury, Chaos charged towards the thing. Luz, even without being sure what it was, decided to risk her existence to save it.

Following his intuition, he cast the seed towards Chaos and then his magic. Chaos felt invaded, that thing was growing, absorbing its energy, it was trying to get rid of it, but the Light used its magic to prevent its escape.

What was once dust has become something alive, and what was Chaos has become a tree. That is, Chaos becomes his own prison.

Satisfied with what it had done, the Light headed towards the two creatures that had apparently emerged from the explosion. Both were small, and had different shapes, they had no spectral appearance, they were made of physical and palpable matter.

The girls continued to grow with speed. Soon Luna and Solara opened their eyes, their hair grew, as did all their limbs and their intelligences developed. Fearing that this would continue unchecked, the Light arranged for them to stop changing by regulating the period of change and called this effect time.

Solara was always the most cheerful and Luna the most somber. All three were divergent beings, but they had a common curiosity about creation.

Everything was created by them, gravity, the sun, the moon, the stars, the lifeless spheres...

— Mother, — Luna says! — have you ever noticed that seeds grow and then die? Wouldn't they grow more in a larger space of land?

The three looked at each other and saw a sphere, not too close, not too far from the sun, that is, a good dose of heat. So they made that place propitious to plant the seed.

Luna was right. The tree grew longer than they were used to, its roots had taken hold of everything and seemed to beg for more water. The Goddesses gave their all to take care of their best experiment yet.

At a given moment, cocoons appeared hanging from the branches of that tree, they could not say what it was. But when the three of them weren't looking, the cocoons began to split open, revealing rowdy little creatures. Those little creatures discovered that they could fly, some threw fire, others water. Some of the small ones also made things shake with an invisible force and made them grow from the ground, something still unnamed, but it was delicate, colorful and fragrant.

Solara and Luna were the first to come across the land in full color. The land had a vast immensity of water, green areas and several other things which they started to name.

— Are you sure the sea is a good name?

— Of course it is, Luna! That creature over there agrees! — Solara points to the fairy, who nods a yes.

—This part of the ground here is different from the earth. We should give it a different name. — Luna looked thoughtful. — How about Sanearth?

— Oh no! It got weird, let's go for... Sa... I know! Sand!

The two sisters continued taking care of the planet and naming things, while the fairies learned how to use their powers to keep everything going.

Millions of years passed before all three became bored, including the Light.

The Light taught the sisters to mold beings out of clay, using daggers, and taught them how to bring them to life. Luna had always liked to experience things that apparently didn't make sense. Once, she created a four-legged being with a flat tail and a wide beak, the animal even seemed to have crossed eyes. Where did the Moon Goddess get these ideas from? Not even the Light could answer.

Solara created the first woman, primitive and somewhat wild. She believed that she was wrong about something, but as time went on, both the women and the men she created later began to change and evolve. Luna still found humans strange, she observed that they had a tendency to self-destruct. It reminded her of Chaos.

Luna wanted to fix this defect, create creatures more harmonious with nature. As Luna was unconventional, she changed some features of her "humans", gave them pointy ears and the ability to connect with nature just like fairies.

— Those are different, my daughter. How about giving them another name?

— Yes, you're right. I've been thinking about calling them elves.

The light smiled at Luna. The millennia were so perfect, light and its daughters managed to create a whole complex and beautiful universe. Solara kept herself busy with the evolution of her humans, while Luna was addicted to creating different beings, beings that served nature. They all had similarities with humans, but they always had something else like: magic, animal form, fangs, half of the body in the form of a fish and others. Luna had always preferred quirks, but it wasn't just Solara's upbringing that caused trouble, hers as well.

Humans were intelligent, but they still maintained their destructive power towards nature and towards themselves, even killing each other. Werewolves and vampires sometimes got out of control and ended up killing for food. Sorcerers and wizards had a tendency to push magic beyond the limit, and mermaids were anti-social. The elves and fairies were the only ones who didn't cause too much trouble.

But, the final straw was when Luna discovered that her sister was having intercourse with a human.

— Are you crazy, Solara? You're getting too involved with this human.

— It's too late now, Luna! I did what I wanted, and I don't regret it.

— I don't believe it! What will come out of there? — Luna stares at her sister's growing belly as if she were a human.

— Don't talk about my son like that!

— How do you know it's not dangerous?

— I had visions, okay? Besides, he's mine and won't be dangerous.

Luna could have sworn Solara was going crazy. How is it possible that you have a human child?

Abruptly, the Light invaded the space and looked scared.

— Let's go to land now! Looks like there's a war going on between humans and supernaturals!

The sisters looked at each other and descended to earth. Such was the surprise when they saw, for the first time, a man with red skin and completely black eyes.

— Chaos? — The Light asks the rhetorical question, wondering how Chaos broke out of its prison and took this form of flesh.

— Did you think that only you could create a physical body, Light?

— Why are you here? How did you escape?

Chaos smiled macabre.

— Now! I told you that existence shouldn't change. You are not able to control your own creation. — He laughed. — But I'll give you a hint because I'm in a good mood. I have waited millennia for an opportunity for freedom, and when I was found by a lovely sorceress, I got my freedom.

— I can't believe it, who was that? — Luna felt her body fill with anger at such a betrayal of her creation.

— Does not matter! I will win! If this planet doesn't self-destruct by the birth of this creature — Chaos pointed to the sun goddess's belly— I myself will destroy everything, starting with you. He laughed and disappeared like smoke.

For a long time, Luna tried to use her control of space to find the Chaos and not even Solara was able to predict its location.

Until the day of the demigod's birth arrived.

The child came into the world already screaming, but calmed down when he came into contact with his mother's arms. He looked like a fragile human baby and even bald I could already see that his hair would grow red. Solara stared into her son's orange eyes for a few moments and her throat closed, she quickly handed the baby to Luna, before she regretted what she intended to do. It was necessary, she had to let her son go, he would survive better among his own kind. So Solara would be free to hunt and rid herself of Chaos forever.

— If all else fails, I'll have to use this. — The Light explained her contingency plan to the daughters.

— Please be careful!

— You too! Promise me you'll take good care of this world.

The goddesses promised with a broken heart, feeling that the Light was ready to sacrifice herself.

The three hunted Chaos for some time until they noticed a certain pattern of destruction. Humans were killing each other to gain power and territory, the supernaturals were also not left behind and fought for their own interests. Each group joined with their peers, humans began to develop tricks to kill supernaturals and the opposite also happened. Vampires, werewolves, sorcerers, wizards and even elves held beliefs about human rot and when humans and supernaturals met, it was certain death.

Humans didn't even believe in the Goddesses, only Luna's creation still believed in them.

— Chaos must be loving this! — The Light commented.

— And it seems only the fairies didn't clash!

Solara is thoughtful about what Luna said and had an idea.

— Damn it! He must be trying to persuade the fairies! Come on!

The entities floated to the island where the tree of life remained. Arriving there, it was late, Chaos had cast a curse on the fairies. Every time fairies get romantically involved and have a fairy baby, the baby would be born without powers.

At least Chaos was still on the fairy island.

— You! Stay where you are! — Light has never hated anyone as much as Chaos.

— you Finally found me! — He continued to smile as if he was already defeated — You're late! I have planted and fed discord even in the fairies. Everyone will self-destruct! It's been a delight to watch. — Pride oozes through his entire being, and the desire for the end of the world was intense.

Light didn't hold back and attacked Chaos. She took him away from the fairy island and, floating on the ocean, cast a new spell on him. She was willing to turn the specter to stone, he might be powerful, but she had improved her tricks. Chaos was no longer the only living thing besides her in the universe, and letting him destroy everything she created once more was out of the question.

Chaos and Light returned to their spectral forms. Luna and Solara created a force field as they realized the strength of their magic was affecting the planet.

— Let's get them upstairs, or they'll blow it up!

— Okay, Luna, let's go.

The two Goddesses took the two caged specters to the spirit plane and both continued to fight for their lives, unable to end the spell. It was a question of who would give in first, and neither of them was willing.

— What do we do, Solara? Can we not interfere?

With that questioning, Solara remembered the Dagger that was apparently not very useful, but that she used to shape earthly creatures. She enveloped the object with her power and ran towards the Chaos and behind its back, stuck the dagger right in the middle, trying to absorb its power through it.

— Solara! Stop it, you'll end up killing yourself — The Light screams and that moment of distraction was enough for Chaos to advance, but the Light managed to hold on.

Luna looked at the Light and decided to take her sister out from behind the Chaos. He still had the dagger stuck in his back and as soon as the sisters were away, everything started to shake and a wave of energy made them fly away, crashing into pillars.

The two set their bones in place again and ran to the fight site. No light, glow or energy was being emitted, everything was still. Did they win? Well, on the one hand, Chaos turned to stone and they absorbed the gem that condenses their consciousness so that it never comes back. But, on the other hand, the Light also turned to stone.

The spell shouldn't have ended like this. Only one of them should have turned to stone, but apparently their forces were balanced and connected.

— What shall we do now, Luna? — Solara's eyes are teary.

— Now let's keep our promise, Solara. Let's continue on the spiritual plane and interfere less in the world, people have to evolve, and our excess interference only made everything worse. We have to believe that they can be better.

And so it continued for a few years until the fateful day.

Continue in Madow...
