Jack of All Tales

Get it? Jack of All Trades but this one includes a lot of fairy tale like stuff so, Jack of All Tales. XD XD. Okay, I'll stop now. You're not here for my weird jokes. Newsies/Peter Pan/Aladdin AU- Sooooo, post-strike?? Hang with me on this one. Aladdin references might be sort of blink and you miss em so, watch out for em. I can already tell this one's gonna be real long so, get ready.

"Stop, thief!!" echoes through the streets as Jack Kelly runs as fast as his legs will carry him. He jumps up to fly to his secret hiding spot, mostly flying just because he could. Jack successfully flies into a clothesline. His petite little fairy friend who is half fairy and half human laughs from his place on a windowsill.

"That's what ya get for trying to fly in the city, ya goof!!" Racetrack Higgins yells loudly. Race turns into his human form and Jack sits next to him on the window sill.

"Like youse could have done any better?" Jack smirks as he pulls some bread out of his pocket.

"How much longer we gotta do this?" Race whines as he puts it into his own pocket.

"Til we got enough food to feed everyone back on Neverland," Jack replies. He pulls himself up onto the fire escape and hurries to the top of the building. Peering down, he notices a pretty young girl navigating a very industrial part of Manhattan. Jack lets out a low whistle when he sees her and Race turns into a pixie and lands on Jack's shoulder.

"What're we looking at?" Race asks as he leans up against Jack's cheekbone which one could get cut by just by looking at them.

"Not what, Racer. Who," Jack replies and he points out a beautiful young girl wandering through the streets, "And it looks like she doesn't get out much." Jack catches the faintest glint of a fancy bracelet on her right wrist. Race's eyes go wide.

"I can see why too. With a bracelet like that, Daddy must not let her out much," he smirks from his place. Race leans up against the windowsill with a wicked grin on his face. Jack detects it and glares at him.

"Don't even think about it," Jack groans but, Race being Race and even more so since he is a pixie, refuses to listen. Race darts down and towards the crowded street below before Jack could even lift a finger. Jack lets out another groan and crawls down from his hiding place. He drops to the street and runs right into the girl he had been admiring from the window sill.

"Excuse me!" The girl snaps a little harshly and Jack blushes profusely, falling backwards right into the wall. She rolls her eyes at him and starts to continue on her way when she sees a young boy dressed like a Newsie sitting on the side of the street begging for food.

"Please, miss! Have some mercy on a poor little kid!" The boy cries out and the girl looks around nervously.

"Are you asking me to steal food for you or are you asking me to flirt with the shop owners so you can steal from them?" she asks with a slight note of irritation in her voice. The little boy pales and shakes his head quickly.

"I'se don't steal from nobody. I'se just needs some change," he states, acting terrified at the suggestion. The girl lets out a sigh. Jack takes the opportunity to step forward.

"Youse okay, kid? I'se might be able to help," he says kneeling down to the kid.

"Whaddya got, mistah?" The kid asks in an excited voice. Jack sees Race, in human form, leaning against the wall, attempting to flirt with the girl. She's not having any of it.

"Is it so hard not to flirt with every single living woman that walks the face of the earth?" she asks and Race puts his hands up in innocence, pixie dust trailing as he moves. The girl raises an eyebrow skeptically. The kid sitting with Jack gasps when he sees Race and his pixie dust.

"The stories are true!!" he shouts loudly and then he turns to Jack, "Take me with you! Please take me with you!!"

"Whoa whoa whoa. Slow your roll there, short stuff," Race says imperatively, "We don't take just anybody to Neverland."

"Will you take me?" the kid asks excitedly.

"I believe that's called kidnapping," the girl says with an air of importance. Jack turns to her and inwardly gasps at her beauty. She's even prettier up close.

"It ain't called kidnapping if he wants to come with us," Jack responds, "I'se wouldn't mind taking more than one person back with us. Whaddya say?"

"I'm just fine with my life in New York. Thank you very much," she says, denying his request. When she turns around however, Jack is gone. The boy with pixie dust trailing out of his fingers is gone too. Suddenly, she hears shouting and sees a small glow of light flying in front of one of the cart owner's faces. The girl gasps when she sees Jack floating in mid air behind the cart. In her experience, people didn't fly and they certainly didn't fly while stealing food. Jack flies back over holding three apples. He gives one to the young boy, one to Race, who is back in human form again, and holds the last one out to the girl.

"It tastes sweeter just because I stole it," Jack says with a small smirk on his face. The girl rolls her eyes and gently pushes the apple away.

"I'm just fine. I ate plenty this morning," she says sternly. Jack smiles and bumps his hand against hers casually. She pulls away and Jack grins as he gently slides her bracelet onto his own wrist.

"I'se didn't catch your name. I bet it's as pretty as you are," Jack says, holding the apple with the hand that has the bracelet on the wrist.

"You boys need to find a new hobby besides flirting. It would do you wonders," she says matter of factly. Jack lets out a small gasp.

"You think flirting's my only hobby? I got plenty of other ones," he says, watching to see if the girl notices that her fancy bracelet is missing.

"I'm sure you do, Mister..."she begins.

"Kelly, Jack Kelly. You got a name? If not, I'se just gonna call ya sweet and sour. You'se sure acts like that," Jack answers. The girl rolls her eyes and steals his apple, taking a bite of it before giving it back to him. Jack's eyes widen. He's never had a girl be quite so bold. Much less eat a piece of something that he had stolen.

"Katherine Plumber. I'd like my bracelet back as well," Katherine says, her eyes flicking to Jack's wrist. Jack is about to reply when he hears the shriek of police whistles and men shouting,

"Stop, thieves!! Someone stop them!!!" Jack grabs Katherine's hand and starts to run. Race pulls the younger kid up on his back.

"Kiddo, you wanna learn how to fly? It's super easy!!" Race asks as they run.

"Okay, mistah! Whatevah ya say!!" The kid exclaims. Race turns back into his fairy form and sprinkles the boy with fairy dust.

"Fly! Fly! Fly!" Race shouts but, to the kid, it just sounds like bells jingling to him. Jack pulls Katherine into a corner with him a couple of alleyways over. Once the policemen walk by, Jack pulls on a fire escape and attempts to help Katherine up on to it. She swats his hand away and climbs up it herself. He can hear Race's faint voice yelling, he hopes at the younger boy, to fly. Katherine looks around a little perturbed.

"It's not even close to Christmas time so, who's ringing jingle bells?" she asks and Jack shushes her.

"Just climb up to the rooftop. We'll be safe up there," Jack says just as the two are spotted by the guards.

"Get him!" One of the guards yells and Jack quickly jumps up into the air. Katherine starts to climb the fire escape faster than she had previously. One of the guards is rapidly gaining on her and he grabs the end of her skirt, making it hard for her to move. She tries to kick him but another guard grabs her foot.

"Let me go! I'm not a criminal!! I'm Joseph Pulitzer's daughter!!" Katherine explains and the guards immediately back away from her. They try to help her back down the fire escape but, she swats their hands away.  Jack hovers above the rooftop, watching the scene unfold down below.

"Miss Pulitzer, you do know that we never would have arrested you or done anything to hurt you," The first guard says kindly. Katherine rolls her eyes and pushes past them.

"I'll walk myself home now. Thank you very much," she says and Jack loses sight of her. Suddenly, a glow of light sits on his shoulder.

"You'se losing her, Jacky. By the way, the kid can fly and he wants to come with us," Race says to Jack. Jack gazes out over the city sadly.

"We'se still ain't got food for everybody. Nobody wants to go hungry," Jack responds as he gazes at the bracelet still on his wrist. Race grins as the kid finally joins the two on top of the building.

"Heya, kiddo! How's it going?" Race asks changing into his human form. He slides over next to the kid. "Say, you gotta name? I'se Racetrack Higgins, but I don't ever recall hearing yours."

"I am Josephino Jorgelino de la Guerra," the kid says. Race and Jack exchange surprised looks.

"Didn't see that coming," Jack mutters under his breath. Race crosses his arms in thought.

"Ya friends call ya something different?" he asks and the younger boy shrugs.

"Don't really have friends. Mama doesn't let me out of our apartment very often. She's sick and couldn't go to work which is why I was begging on the side of the street," he replies.

"How about Jojo?" Race asks and looks to Jack for approval, which most days is a rarity. Jack nods his head in agreement while fiddling with the bracelet on his wrist. "Your real name's kinda hard to pronounce. Can't yell your whole name when we'se in a sword fight."

"Sword fight?" Jojo asks and Jack shushes him when he hears voices down below. Jojo, Jack and Race all peer over the side of the building. Three men stand below talking about "the ridiculously rich Pulitzers". Jack recalls hearing Katherine say she was a Pulitzer. Just as he realizes this, the men start talking about her.

"We'se needs to get Katherine to come with us," Jack mutters softly. Race changes into his fairy form and lands on Jack's shoulder.

"How are we'se supposed to that? She's a right and proper lady and we'se looks like just a bunch of Newsies. I'se says that we go back and talk to Davey about it. He'll know what to do, " Race jingles in Jack's ear softly. Jack nods his head in agreement and Race flies around Jojo again, sprinkling him with more pixie dust. Jojo immediately starts to levitate in the air.

"Can we please go? Does everyone fly where you two are from?" Jojo asks. Both boys nod their heads excitedly.

"Nobody grows up either," Jack says, "At least physically. Sometimes I wonder about the existence of mental and emotional growth in Neverland." He sneaks a glance in Race's direction before continuing on, "Everyone flies and we struggle to survive some days but, it's a good time most of the time." Jojo grins and start taking towards the sky. Race jingles something but, Jack doesn't quite make it out. Race quickly starts to circle Jojo and lead him up towards the sky. Gasps from the streets come from below. Jojo and Race keep flying over the city and Jack quickly sneaks down the fire escape ladder as they distract the crowd standing on the street. As soon as he hits the street, a hand grabs the collar of his shirt and shoves him up against the solid brick wall of a building. Jack lets out a grunt as he hits the building.

"Don't think we'd let ya get away that quickly, Kelly," The familiar voice of Oscar Delancey snarls.   Jack pushes Oscar away and he falls into a large metal trash can, making a huge racket. Morris starts to move towards Jack but, Jack shoulders him out of the way and starts to fly away.

"This ain't over, Flyboy Kelly!" Oscar yells as he tries to brush the trash off his jacket, "This is a new coat too. Youse gonna pay for this!!" Jack keeps flying away after Race and Jojo. He spots Katherine down in the crowd below and softly lands on a fire escape nearby. Jack shimmies down it and slowly walks behind Katherine. He tugs his cap down a little lower down on his head so that he cannot be recognized quite so easily. Katherine approaches a large mansion and enters it.  Jack hurries around the house and flies up to various windows. He spots Katherine and follows her up to a grandeur bedroom. She flops on her bed and reaches for a novel sitting on the side table adjacent to her bed. Jack flies closer to the window and at that exact same moment, Katherine glances over at him. She nearly topples out of her bed because of her surprise, and she was also sitting a little too close to the edge. Katherine runs over to the window and throws it open.

"Get in here!!" she snaps, yanking Jack into the room by his collar before slamming the window shut and turning to face him. "What do you think you're doing? First, you steal an apple and try to get me to share it with you..."

"Which ya did," Jack interrupts quickly. Katherine crosses her arms and glares at him.

"That's besides the point. Second, you get me chased by the police and probably have sent my father into a rage just at the notion. And now you're stalking me?? What kind of a life do you lead?" she finishes and Jack raises his hands in innocence, "And you still have my bracelet." She glares at his wrist and holds her hand out for it.

"I was gonna give it back," Jack starts but Katherine cuts him off,

"Yeah. Sure you were. After you stole the pearls from around my neck and the boots off my feet." Jack looks hurt by the statement. Katherine moves her arms down to her side and Jack walks past slipping the bracelet onto her wrist as he does. She moves her wrist up towards her face and lets out a little gasp when she sees her bracelet back.

"I'se not a pickpocket just to be a pickpocket. Sometimes there's more of a reason to my stealing," Jack says in response to her reaction. She smiles fondly at the bracelet and then up at Jack.

"Maybe you're not as bad as I originally thought," Katherine says and Jack flies over towards her.

"Come with me," he says softly and Katherine huffs out a laugh,

"You're a thief and you're a stalker. I'm not going anywhere with you." Jack looks dejected and takes off his Newsie cap.

"Please, Miss Pulitzer. I think it would do you wonders to have some fun away from the stresses of life. Besides, I'd be there," he persuades but Katherine shoves it aside.

"I can't go! I have a life here! I have an interview for a job and I have to grow up at some point," she replies but, Jack flies closer to her.

"You seem real stressed out. You really should come and get a breath of fresh air. Where's your sense of adventure?" Jack asks and that's all it took. Katherine looks him in the eye.

"Did you say adventure?" she asks and Jack nods quickly, "Then when can we leave?" Jack quickly scoops Katherine up bridal style in his arms but, she flails about, refusing to put her arms around his neck.

"I'se don't have any pixie dust with me and Race already took that kid back to Neverland. You'se either flying on my back or in my arms," Jack proposes. Katherine lets out a sigh.

"Alright, I guess I'm climbing onto your back then," she responds. Jack doesn't let her go and opens the window while still holding her. Katherine starts to move to get out of his arms but Jack stops her. He flies out of the window and tosses Katherine high up into the air and catches her on his back. Jack feels Katherine's arms wrap around the back of his neck and her chin nestle into the collar of his shirt.  He starts to fly high towards Neverland and Katherine grins as they fly through New York City.

"Enjoying the view?" he asks her.

"Absolutely! It's beautiful up here!" Katherine says loudly. The two of them fly up past the clouds and right to the second star on the right. A bright flash of color burns Katherine's eyes as they fly through it. It seems like something straight out of the fantasy novels that she reads. Jack cheers and starts to fly even faster through the odd changeover. In the midst of the bright colors, Katherine can see an island down below. Something about it is so enchanting, from the way the mountains rise up and the way the bright blue water sparkles at her from below. Jack gently lands the two of them on a large cloud. He sits down on it and smiles up at her.

"Welcome to Neverland, Katherine!" Jack exclaims, "Let's go find the rest of the boys." Immediately distracted, Jack starts to move toward a thick standing of trees when Katherine clears her throat. He disappears from view and she lets out a small gasp when she is scooped up from behind.

"We talked about this! You don't have to scoop me up from behind every single time! I can learn to fly," Katherine explains.

"Where's the fun in that?" Jack asks as he flies her toward the thick standing of trees. They fly through several tight corners and Katherine leans in closer to Jack's chest to avoid getting slapped by a tree branch or two. Once they arrive at a tree like hideout, which is extremely large to house three boys in Katherine's opinion, Jack sets her down outside.

"You have a very large house for only three boys," Katherine comments and Jack chuckles.

"Oh, Katherine. There's way more than three boys that live here. Let me go see if they're awake or not. They wouldn't mind meeting such a pretty lady as yourself," he says before flying into one of the entrances. A couple of minutes later, some shouting is heard from the inside and Katherine wonders what on earth could be going on.

She gets her answer when a red haired boy walks out with the human/fairy boy tugging on his ear. The red haired boy is swatting and yelling at the other boy to let him go. More and more boys begin to pour out of the hideout, becoming more and more agitated with having been woken up than the last. The young boy from the city street wanders out and Jack follows him out last. Every single boy is in some kind of an argument or physical fight with another. Katherine looks slightly concerned as she looks from her spot. One of the boys notices her,

"When did the pretty girl show up?" Catcalls and other things that made Katherine roll her eyes are shouted from the crowd of boys. Jack flies up above everyone and claps his hands. The boys miraculously quiet and Jack scans the group.

"Where's..?" he starts to ask when suddenly two boys come out of the hideout.

"Come on, Davey! Jack woke everyone up already!! Don't be such a slowpoke!" A young boy whines pulling a lanky older boy behind him. The older boy looks around and groans at Jack flying in the sky and the other boys fighting again.

"Les, you know why I slept in this morning?" Davey asks the younger boy running a tired hand through his hair as he asks this. Les shakes his head in innocence. "I stayed up late taking a walk last night to clear my thoughts from some of you boys almost being killed by pirates!" Davey's raised voice stifles any extra arguing that had been going on.

"Davey, that's what your knife is for! If you're that concerned, then leap in there and do something," one of the boys says. Davey glares at the dagger on his belt.

"That's not safe at all! The point here is that nobody dies and I think someone's going to with the way things are going," he finishes and Jack rubs his hands together.

"Well, that's nice. Boys, this is Katherine. She's this pretty lady I picked up in New York!" Jack introduces and Katherine gives a polite little wave.

"Jack quite literally picked me up. He didn't have any pixie dust so I had to fly on his back," she says and the boys cheer for Jack. Katherine rolls her eyes and Davey puts his head in his hands.

"I keep telling them that that's not how you respond to a girl and a guy interacting but, they just don't get it," he says softly. Les reaches up and pats him on the shoulder.

"Don't worry! We'll figure it out before we wind up dead!" he exclaims.

"I take it your fear of the boys dying wasn't the only reason you took a walk last night?" Katherine asks Davey and Davey nods.

"Far from it. I'm surprised no one's died because of their lack of maturity and incapability to handle situations. They certainly aren't bad with swords but, that still makes me nervous that somebody's going to get cocky and then get skewered. I'm not entirely sure how these boys, especially Race and Albert, have lived as long as they have here. Somebody is seriously going to wind up dead one of these days!" Davey rants and Katherine nods her sympathetically.

"Well, good luck with that. I hope I don't run into the same problem while I'm here," she says.

"You'll really need luck for that," Davey mutters. One of the boys pipes up,

"Hey! What if instead of taking a walk, Davey was spending some quality time with Tiger Lily!" Davey groans and buries his face in his hands. His normally stoic face turns bright red and his whole body seems to cringe at the idea.

"Davey's involved in a romance?" Race, who apparently had turned back into his human form asks.

"NO! I'm not involved in any romance with anybody!" Davey shouts before running off into the woods.

"Davey! Come back! We need you!" Jack calls out, flying after Davey a little bit. Davey doesn't listen and keeps running anyways. Jack gives up and lands next to Katherine.

"He's going to be okay, right?" Katherine asks and Jack shrugs his shoulders.

"He's prepared if he suddenly isn't okay," Jack replies before reaching for Katherine's hand, "Want to go meet some mermaids?" Katherine gives him a skeptical looks.

"Are they going to try to drown me? Mermaids are known to be very jealous creatures," she observes. Jack shrugs and replies with,

"I've never seen them get jealous but, they love it when the boys and I come over."

"Exactly," Katherine says, "Can you teach me to fly on the way over? At least so I can get away from them when they splash me and attempt to drown me?"

"Absolutely," Jack says and he catches Race's eye, "Pixie dust!"

"Got a fresh pouch right here," Race says and tosses the green pouch to Jack. He shoots Katherine a glance, "Do not ask where it came from." Katherine puts her hands up in innocence and looks away.  Jack quickly dumps the dust some of the dust onto Katherine and she studies it for a minute.

"It's like nothing I've ever seen before," she says as she pinches some onto her fingers. Jack flies up above and pulls her up off the ground. Katherine lets out a small gasp as she finds herself airborne.

"Just think happy thoughts and soon you won't need me to hold onto ya," Jack says with a slight hint of sadness in his voice. Katherine closes her eyes and soon, she is flying away from Jack. She begins to move gracefully through the air and Jack leads the way taking them to the Mermaid Lagoon. "Racer's in charge!" Jack calls over his shoulder as the two of them fly away. He tries to reach for Katherine's hand but she says,

"I will follow you and I will not under any circumstance hold your hand." Jack shrugs his shoulders and the two continue flying out of view.

"Aaaaaannnnnnddddd, they're gone! Now who wants to go looking for some trouble?" Race asks as soon as everyone is gone.

"No no. We are going to let Jack have some time with Katherine. She seems really nice and it would be a shame to impede on any time that they get to have together," Davey instructs and Race rolls his eyes before walking over to the worrying boy.

"Davey Davey Davey, you're no fun sometimes you know that. You're too sensible. Live a little on the edge for once!" Race says, slinging his arm over Davey's shoulder. Davey looks at Race and pushes his arm away from his shoulder.

"Living with you is my equivalent to living on the edge, Racetrack," Davey responds before walking off to go make sure that nothing absolutely terrible was going to happen. Race turns into a fairy and starts to chase after him.

Meanwhile, Jojo looks at all of the boys around him and tries to find a face that won't throw him face down in the sand just because he was new. In Jojo's experience, someone was always bound to.

"Hello! I'm Jojo!" he announces to no one in particular and all of the boys raise an eyebrow at him, "I'm new! Jack and Race saved me from the streets!" The boys then start to congratulate Jojo giving him pats on the back, high fives, and similar welcoming gestures. Except for Davey, who was too busy worrying.

"We should go snooping! That would be fun, huh, Dave?" Race jingles in Davey's ear. Davey only understands about half of it and swats at Race.

"We are NOT snooping on Jack and Katherine! How many times do I have to tell you this?" Davey asks in a frustrated manner. Race rolls his eyes and flies around Davey, sprinkling him with pixie dust. Davey slowly starts to levitate off the ground, reliving some happier memories on the island and even from his life in New York in his mind.

"We could snoop on the pirates?" Race suggests and Davey starts to rise a little bit higher.

"I'm not sure that that's wise. Jack's not here to well, intervene if something goes wrong and you know how the boys can get. These people were really oppressive to kids in New York and tried to get away from them here. At least that's what I'm assuming the "We hate children" speech is all about," Davey ponders as he floats in the air. To Race's surprise, Davey floats up above the other boys and starts to look around.

"Awwww. Come on, Davey. You know you want to," Race jingles and Davey shakes his head.

"Not until Jack's around and even then, no. Besides, who's gonna take care of Les?" Davey asks.

"I would love to and then if I won't then Albert will," Race proposes causing Davey to shake his head.

"How about a nice relaxing fly around the island or a walk in the jungle? Just something that nobody is going to die doing or nobody will get mad when we do it. Can we go one day without causing any kind of chaos?" Davey asks.

"Says the newbie," Race responds with a smirk, "Come on. We can't go one day on this island without getting into some kind of mischief." Davey lets out a huff and sighs.

"All right. Let's go find some treasure I guess," he concurs. Race lets out a loud cheer that really comes out at a high pitched jingle that makes Davey fiddle with his ears. Davey rolls his eyes and the rest of the boys complain and cover their ears too.

"Race! When are you going to learn that meowing like a cat while you're a fairy isn't good on the ears of the humans?" Albert shouts with his hands over his ears. Race flies around each and every boy sprinkling them with pixie dust. One by one, the boys start to fly up in the sky. Jojo flies up in between two of the boys.

"So, what are we doing?" he asks sweetly.

"Whatever the fairy and the Walking Mouth tell us," a boy by the name of Mush replies. Jojo looks a little worried and the boy on his other side pats his back reassuringly.

"Ahhh, don't worry about it, kid," the other boy named Kid Blink says kindly, "You'se got nothing to worry about. Davey won't let us do anything too dangerous." Jojo shrugs his shoulders and continues following the large group of boys until a loud, high pitched jingle makes everyone cover their ears. Race is tumbling over himself in the air laughing with his tiny fairy laugh jingling its way through the air. The boys fly their away around tall mountain tops, over the large jungle until they stop at a rocky overlook. The boys begin to descend and disseminate among the rocks.

"What are we looking for?" Jojo asks as the boys start to look around the rocks.

"Buried treasure!! Which is the only thing Davey will let us do that is remotely dangerous," Les responds as he starts to run around the rocky area. Davey flies overhead making sure that none of the boys are going to hurt themselves finding the treasures, since this has been a common occurrence in the non-too distant past. Race transforms back into a human and pulls Jojo alongside of him and Albert. The three boys start looking for some kind of treasure. Small caves are scattered throughout the cavernous rocky area. Crutchie has made up several stories about the pirates once using that as a place to hide their victims but, Davey denounced the idea as soon as it was out of Crutchie's mouth.

Speaking of Crutchie, he was often the storyteller of the group or one of them. Crutchie, in the opinion of the rest of the boys, told the best stories. They almost always involved Jack and the Newsies defeating the pirates that resided out in the ocean. Crutchie was often present in these fights but being the kind person that he is, refused to fight with a dagger and would use his crutch as a weapon instead which in his opinion, was far deadlier than a dagger. Currently, Crutchie is with the rest of the boys trying to find the treasure. There is a large drop down into a dark area. Les spots it the dark area and wonders what could be down there. However, he needs Race since he hasn't been flying in a little while and hasn't gotten a fresh sprinkle of pixie dust in a few minutes. Les grabs at Race thinking he is in fairy form only to grab Race's forearm.

"Hey kiddo," Race says and Les gives him a disappointed look, "What?"

"Can you turn into a fairy?" Les asks innocently and Race raises an eyebrow.

"Right now? Well of course! I can turn into a fairy any day of the week! Les Miserables, be miserable no more! On one condition, I get to go wherever you fly to so Daves doesn't have my head later," Race responds.

"Sure!" Les exclaims excitedly. He jumps up into the air and goes back down after about ten seconds in the air. Race sees the problem and quickly flies around Les, sprinkling more pixie dust on him. Les closes his eyes and thinks of something happy before jumping right into the ravine. Race follows after him, lighting the way. Les reaches the bottom of the ravine and Race zips around looking for any sign of the treasure. After a minute, the quiet sound of bells jingle from a small area in the ravine. Les flies over and gasps loudly. Race quickly changes back into his human form and shouts as loudly as he can,

"We found the treasure, boys!!!" All of the other boys run to the edge of ravine and crowd around it.

"Where are you?" Crutchie asks and Race moves so that he is visible to the other boys.

"Where's the treasure? We'se not saying it's found until you show us some," Kid Blink calls out. Race hurries back to the treasure chest and sprinkles some pixie dust on the top to make it fly. It starts to fly and Les and Race pull it along behind them as they fly out of the ravine. The other boys cheer as Race and Les approach the top with the treasure chest in tow. Once they make it to the top and set the treasure chest down, they hear a cry comes out from outside of the cavern.

"That was Davey!" Les yells loudly. Every single boy starts to run outside, ready to fight off whatever is scaring their friend. Just as the boys fly outside, ropes come flying and grab each and everyone of them. The smaller boys get pulled down easier than the older boys. Race tries to change into a fairy, but the rope only settles and ties around his waist. He jingles loudly in protest only to get tied up and thrown into a lantern. The evil pirate captain cackles and holds the lantern up to his face.

"You're not going to get away from me this time, boy," he snarls before turning to the rest of the boys who are trying to desperately fight off the pirates with the miscellaneous weapons that they have, "None of you will and there's people above me who would love to see you be taken care of once and for all."

"You won't get away with this!" Davey shouts, "Someone will come and save us!"

"Except when he's occupied with a certain lady friend. He's probably forgotten about you already. Too happy with that girl to notice," the pirate captain snickers. Once the boys are all tied up and tied to a pirate in the boat, two pirates hurry into the cave to grab the treasure.

"You can't take that! We found it fair and square!" Crutchie protests, but the evil pirate captain only waves him off.

"There's more in that treasure chest than you know, boy. I'll do anything to get my hands on it," he replies.

"You mean those grubby excuses for appendages that you call hands?" Specs pipes up from his place and the pirate who he is tied to raises a hand to slap him. The pirate captain reddens significantly and points to the boat.

"Each and every one of you will walk the plank and will die a slow and painful death if I have anything to say about it. I have no intention of keeping you. Your only purpose is more riches for me in the real world," he announces and the boys are loaded up and taken back to the pirate ship.

Meanwhile, Jack and Katherine are visiting with the mermaids. Or rather, the mermaids are talking with Jack pleasantly about his adventures and Katherine is being ignored. Katherine sits next to Jack on a large rock that slopes upward in the lagoon. The water peacefully laps up against the edge of the rock and a waterfall trickles gracefully from a rocky overlook that hangs over from above. If it wasn't for the hostility that the mermaids express towards Katherine, the whole scene feels rather peaceful. But of course, the mermaids had to be hostile. Katherine is positive that they have it written in a mermaid code somewhere that they must be hostile to all females that aren't mermaids. She is brought back to the world when Jack nudges her,

"This is going to be a whole new adventure." The phrase catches Katherine off guard.

"Me being here is going to be a whole new adventure?" Katherine asks and Jack nods.

"An adventure that could get you killed. Jacky, did you ever consider how safe hanging around a mermaid is?" A mermaid with bright purple scales on her tail and wavy blonde hair asks. Jack chuckles and smiles at the mermaid.

"But, don't I do that already?" Jack asks sweetly. The mermaids all giggle flirtatiously, making Katherine roll her eyes.

"Of course! But, it could be more of an adventure than it is," Blondie purple scales, as Katherine thought of her, says, moving her hand up to Jack's cheek. Katherine resists the urge to slap the mermaid when she sees Jack stiffen the tiniest bit.

"I um," Jack starts to say, a little shaken by the gesture. The mermaid moves her head closer to Jack's. Jack doesn't resist but, he doesn't move closer. Everything inside of Katherine screams for her to do something about the situation.

"Can't you take a hint?" Katherine finally snaps causing the mermaid to tighten her grip on Jack's cheek when she speaks.

"He doesn't mind. He never does," Blondy purple scales replies with a grin on her face. Jack gently puts a hand over hers and smiles at the mermaid.

"Maybe we should hang out later. Right now, I really want you to meet this lovely lady I found in New York City," Jack responds, still holding hands with the mermaid.

"Jack, you don't need any more lovely ladies when you have the mermaids," Another mermaid with pink scales and jet black hair pipes up. Jack chuckles and looks at Katherine.

"I'se talking about human lovely ladies. You mermaids are my favorite mermaids," Jack says, pecking the one who he was holding hands with on the cheek. Katherine looks on and raises an eyebrow. Jack takes the hint and lets go of the mermaid's hand before pulling Katherine closer to him. "This is Katherine Plumber, from New York City!" he introduces. All of the mermaids smile and in Katherine's opinion, try to be cordial. Apparently Jack thinks they're doing a lovely job but, Katherine saw it all. She could play this game right back.

"It's nice to meet all of you. I always adored mermaids whenever I read a good fantasy novel with a mermaid," Katherine says with a large smile plastered on her face. Part of her statement was a lie as the mermaids Katherine adored were ten times nicer than the mermaids in front of her and way less territorial. The mermaids have huge grins plastered on their faces as well.

"I didn't know you read," Jack replies looping his arm around Katherine's shoulders.

"There's a lot you don't know about me, Jack Kelly," Katherine responds cheekily. Jack rolls his eyes and pulls her into his side. The two are about to continue their discussion with Jack when something whizzes through the air aimed straight at them. A dagger sticks into a nearby rock not far from Katherine and Jack.

"Jacky!!!" Blondie purple scales cries out before gracefully leaping over the rock, tackling Jack mid leap, and taking him into the water with her. Katherine feels herself be pushed down onto the hard rock by one of the mermaids but, the mermaid was not willing to throw her in the ocean too. Suddenly, heavy footsteps approach and all of the mermaids gasp and swim away. Katherine pushes herself up and is quickly pulled to her feet...by a nasty pirate.

"May I help you?" Katherine asks with a slight amount of sass in her tone. The pirate bows slightly and meets her eyes with his own that are a deep blue and cold with a hint of sinister intentions behind them.

"Yes, you can come with me and get on my boat. Don't cry for help or try to escape or else I will every single one of those boys that your little friend deems himself the leader," the pirate snarls quickly grabbing onto Katherine's arm and escorting her to the boat.  The minute he turns his back, Katherine leaps for the water, only to be grabbed by two of the pirates and pulled back into the boat.

"Don't think you'll be going anywhere anytime soon, Missy!" One of the pirates growled, shoving a rag into her mouth before she could scream and tying her hands and feet together so she couldn't get away. Katherine struggles, trying to rock the boat back and forth so it will tip. The pirate captain quickly draws his sword and places the tip under her chin, tilting her head up toward him.

"You don't want to fight me, Miss Pulitzer. It would end badly for you and all of your friends. Just come quietly, not that you have many other options with that rag put so nicely into your mouth, and there will be no issues at all. I'm Captain Snyder at your service and really dear, there's no point in fighting me. You're going to wind up dead because of what's inside that treasure chest. I'm going to have the power to kill all of you and give the riches to my employer, who is someone you know very well," he says. Katherine stiffens and tries to pull away but, the pirate captain pushes the sword into the bottom of her chin, drawing a small flow of blood from her skin. Captain Snyder nods and the boat begins to move...away from the mermaids and further towards to what Katherine was sure was certain doom.

Jack wakes up in a pretty room under the water with a mermaid leaning over him. There was water still in the room but somehow, Jack was still able to breathe while the water was in the room. He had no clue how that worked and quite frankly, he didn't care.

"Oh thank goodness! I was hoping you were going to wake up soon. A good Kelly never goes down without a fight," a familiar voice of a mermaid says. Jack groans and sits up.

"Where am I?" he asks and then he turns to see who the familiar voice is coming from, "Medda!" Medda leans forward and hugs him with her big pink sparkly dress and her large pink sparkly tail.

"Had to scare every single of those pretty mermaids away just so they would leave you alone," Medda Larkin replies with a chuckle, "So, I heard you brought a girl with you to Neverland?"

"Yeah, a real nice girl and," Jack stops mid thought, "Where is she?"

"I don't know. She didn't get killed by that sword that zipped through the air. Lila shoved her down onto the rock but, I don't know what happened to her after that," Medda replies softly. Jack leaps up at the word sword.

"A sword zipped through the air? Somebody tried to kill us!!" Jack exclaims and Medda tries to reassure Jack.

"I'm sure everything's fine with her, Jack. I'm sure she's safe and even though it's been a couple of days since you last saw her, I'm sure she's alright. The pirates are out there but, if you brought her here, she must be able to defend herself well," Medda says reassuringly. Jack gasps,

"A couple of days? I've been down here for a couple of days?"

"Yeah, this is day three. Just rest and take it easy. You had a lot of water in your lungs when you got down here," Medda says, trying to calm Jack down.

"Three days? Medda, the pirates certainly have Katherine by now. No one just throws swords at us for no reason. Race wouldn't do something like that to us even if he was spying. This was the work of the pirates. I've got to save her and probably the boys. I'm rested up well enough," Jack pleads but, Medda raises her index finger and wags it in a motherly fashion.

"Jack Kelly, going up there with all of your guns blazing when you're in your most vulnerable state ain't gonna help you any. You need another day to sit down here and think things through. Get some rest and stop worrying about the fact that the pirates steal the food out from under your fingers and try to kill you. You know the history that you have with the pirates. Please stay down here for one more day and rest up. You're going to need it. Something in the island has changed on a magical level. I can feel it. The pirates have altered the way something works here and you are going to have to fight to change whatever they messed with back to normal. Rest up so you can do that. I also get the feeling that you really like this girl. Not resting up means less of a chance that you have at saving her. Rest up for her too," Medda demands and sits Jack down on the rock that he had been sitting in. Jack flops back down on the rock and nods his head slowly.

"Alright. One more day and then, I'm going to go save her and whoever else the pirates have. No matter what it takes," Jack decides. Medda nods her head in approval and leaves the room to let him rest.

Katherine is tied securely to a chair. She looks around and tries to move her arms out of the ropes. Suddenly, the door flies open to the Captain's Quarters where she is being held captive. Katherine glares at him and since she no longer has a rag in her mouth, says,

"What do you want with me? Why do you want to kill me and the boys? Why do we mean that much to you?" Captain Snyder leans over her and says in a low voice,

"Why don't you ask your daddy?" Katherine flinches, clearly caught off guard by the question.

"My father? What does he have to do with this?" she asks and Captain Snyder chuckles as he walks around his captive.

"He's the one in charge. He only has a vague idea about the boys. As long as they don't get in his way, he doesn't particularly care what they do. Of course, he leaves whether or not they get in his way for me to decide since they're disposable to him. If they get in 'his' way, then I am to take care of them however I see fit. These boys are ALWAYS in my way so, I constantly feel the need to take care of them as I see fit. Your father is aware of this and simply does not care," Captain Snyder replies with a smirk, "As for the rest of your father's involvement in this island, that's information you will have to ask him for, if he ever gets the treasure to make more money off of on the side that is." Katherine's eyes widen a little bit at this statement.

"What are you plotting?" she asks. Captain Snyder shakes his head and refuses to respond.

"That's a secret, Miss Katherine. You won't get to know very much of it because you'll be dead, along with Kelly and all of his little friends," he states and then walks away. Katherine shuts her eyes and hopes that something will change. Maybe Jack knows that Snyder has them trapped aboard his ship. The other boys, who Snyder called the Lost Newsies, actually looked scared of this man. Katherine was terrified of what was going to happen to her and the boys, and she didn't scare easily. Suddenly, something zipped into the room and flew in front of Katherine's face. It starts jingling and Katherine smiles when she recognizes the object flying in front of her face as Race. He points to the small porthole window in the side of the ship and quickly flies to it showing that he is going to try to escape. Katherine smiles and nods quietly. Just as Race is about to fly through it, he smacks right into the glass and falls to the floor. His light extinguishes immediately and Katherine lets out a small gasp.

Time begins to pass and Race doesn't move at all. Katherine starts to wonder whether or not he is dead. Night falls and Katherine tries to take a snooze. She can hear the pirates celebrating the capture of her and the boys. From the smells down below, a great feast is in process in the dining hall of the ship, yet the pirates hadn't bothered to give her anything. She didn't know about the boys but all she knew was that she was hungry. Two more days pass and Katherine starts to become worried for Race, Jack, and the rest of the the Lost Newsies. Something isn't right. She had a feeling that Jack really cared for these boys a lot and didn't want to leave them for dead for any reason. On the third day of being trapped, Katherine tries calling out to Race who has somehow managed to go unnoticed by Captain Snyder, who keeps paying her daily visits with threats of her death being soon. Katherine finally whispers,

"I believe that somehow you can save us, Race." Race starts to stir and then soon flies up in front of Katherine with a huge grin on his face. He points to the window again and throws some pixie dust at the glass. It starts to float and Race moves around it. As soon as he is about to escape, Captain Snyder enters the room to check on his prized prisoner. Race tries to shove the glass off of his small body but, it hardly moves. He throws more pixie dust at it and it starts to move upwards. Snyder notices and bellows loudly,

"Don't think you can get away from me so easily, Higgins!!" Race moves most of his body out fo the window except for one foot. Snyder draws his large sword, preparing to come after Race and kill him. He grabs Race's ankle and starts to pull. Race pulls in the other direction, his body telling him to stop as it doesn't like being in a human game of tug o war. He finally pulls away from Snyder and flies away as quickly as he can. Snyder roars angrily but, Race flies as fast as he can. He becomes tired from escaping from Snyder and sits down for a rest. When he wakes up, night has fallen in Neverland. Race sits up and remembers the task at hand, to find Jack. Remembering that he and Katherine were with the mermaids last, he quickly flies in that direction. He starts to fly around and the mermaids notice him.

"Racetrack!" They all cry loudly, excitedly waving their hands in the air at him. Race blows kisses in their direction before turning into a human.

"Where can a guy like me find a guy like Jack Kelly around here?" Race asks the group.

"He's with Medda under the water. He should be up shortly," One of the mermaids replies. A few minutes later, a very wet Jack Kelly swims up to the surface, his hair plastered to his forehead and his cap in his back pocket. His striped tank top clings to his body along with his pants.

"Heya, Racer!" Jack calls out as he flies up into the air. He runs a hand through his hair, moving it off of his wet forehead.

"Snyder has everyone, the boys, Katherine... everyone. He stole the treasure that we found and is holding the rest of the boys captive. I managed to escape by turning into a fairy and wiggling my way out of the ropes that we're tied to. For some reason, he's really happy about the fact that he has Katherine. I'm not sure what that reason is, but the fact of the matter is, we need you," Race says and Jack nods his head.

"Let me change into some shorts and we'll go save everyone," Jack says and the two boys fly back to their hideout. Race turns back into a fairy and the two boys fly into the hideout. Jack hurries into his separate room and finds his pair of shorts. He changes into them, attaches his dagger to his belt, and shoves his cap onto his head. Race leans against the doorway and grins.

"Katherine ain't gonna be able to resist you once she sees you," Race says with a smirk. Suddenly, gunshots ring out through the hideout. Jack grabs a dagger out of one of the wall weapon racks and throws it past Race and out of the room. He hears it hit something and spots a pirate pinned to the wall, reaching for the gun laying on the ground just out of his reach. The pirate yanks at the dagger once he sees Jack enter the room. Jack draws his own dagger and nears down to the pirate's level.

"You trying to kill me?" he asks and the pirate rolls his eyes. He reaches up and tries to slap Jack across the face. Jack stops his hand with the dagger, which leaves a trail of blood running down the pirate's neck.

"Stay away from the kids and no one gets hurt," the pirate threatens. Before he can do anything, Race ties his wrists and ankles together with a piece of rope and then ties another piece of rope attached to the pirate to his wrist. He sprinkles the pirate with pixie dust and pulls him over to the Mermaid Lagoon. Race drops the pirate off with the mermaids, who quickly and viciously begin to attack him. Transforming into a fairy, Race flies away laughing and back to Jack, who is waiting for him. Without any further delay, the two boys fly towards the pirate ship ready to save Katherine and the boys.

Katherine is now tied to the mast with the rest of the boys. She was rudely awaken from a nap that she had tried to take earlier and forced in between two of the boys. At least she now had some company. The boys were more than willing to talk to her about whatever she wished...as long as they didn't annoy the pirate who was watching them too badly. At this particular time, Captain Snyder is pacing around the ship angrily.

"Has anyone heard any word from Pulitzer? Does he want the treasure or not? I've heard that the contents inside of it are absolutely legendary and I don't want to wait any longer!" Snyder complains loudly. All of his crewmates shake their heads sorrowfully. Suddenly, the Captain's eyes grow wide. Katherine is sure that she hears an audible gulp of fear from the boys.

"If he uses what's inside that chest, we'se all doomed," Specs whispers softly and Katherine raises an eyebrow.

"How could something that chest hold that much power to determine the fate of a bunch of teenagers?" Katherine asks.

"You'd be surprised," Snitch answers softly.

"Our lives are over. I'm just coming to accept it," Skittery comments.

"Have some faith! Jack can save us!" Les cries out.

"Jack can do a lot but it's going to take a lot more than Jack to save us," Henry says, trying to be logical without hurting the younger boy's feelings.

"Jack Kelly's the best sword fighter there ever was. I side with the kid!" Elmer exclaims. A dagger comes flying right in between Katherine and Davey, who had been surprisingly quiet this whole time. He wasn't trying to stop the boys in order to keep them alive but, he wasn't adding any comments to the mix to try to get them out of this.  Captain Snyder's face turns a frightening shade of red.

"Enough of this nonsense! We're throwing them all off the plank. No one can save them!" he bellows loudly. He then turns and looks directly at Katherine, "Your Daddy's waited too long. The treasure is mine and you're going off the plank first, Missy! It's bad luck to have a woman on a ship. We'll get rid of her first. If your Daddy doesn't want his precious treasure then, I guess he isn't getting his precious daughter either. I'm tired of always finding treasure for him and getting little to no reward in return. It's going to be him that killed you, not me."

"Yes, but you're the one who's choosing to throw her off the plank!" Davey cries out loudly from his place on the mast. Captain Snyder whirls around angrily and draws his sword.

"You! If you wish to live, you will keep your mouth shut and let me do as I please. The treasure will be mine and soon I will have all the power to control the world! No girl or boys are going to stand in my way! Throw her off the plank. I'm tired of waiting for her daddy to do something useful and living in his shadow. Captain Benjamin Snyder is going to make his appearance in the world and I'm not going to let any of you stand in my way," Snyder shouts. He comes closer to Katherine and the rest of the pirates get closer. "Starting with you," he snarls. The other pirates move closer to keep the boys up against the mast while Katherine is cut free. She tries to fight off the pirates but, they quickly grab her and tie her wrists together. The pirates push Katherine towards the plank despite the boys' protests. She struggles against them but they don't let her go.  Katherine gasps as they shove her up onto the plank and push her to the very end.

"You don't have to kill people to get what you want. Murder doesn't solve any problems, it only creates more," she says, desperately trying to persuade the pirates to do anything but throw her off the plank.

"Yes, the more of us the kill, the more crimes you've committed," Davey explains.

"Make him next!" Snyder roars pointing to Davey. The pirates point their swords at Katherine and Captain Snyder pushes in front of all of them.

"Jump or meet your doom by my sword," he snarls. Katherine looks for some sort of way out but, she doesn't seen any. Her doom is inevitable.

"I'll jump," Katherine responds, but Snyder doesn't move, "Do you mind? I would prefer not to be hovered over while I await my doom." Snyder rolls his eyes and takes a swipe at Katherine, but she jumps away. Snyder runs back on to the ship as the plank quakes with the movement, hoping that he won't fall in because of her jump. Katherine starts to fall, the ocean approaching faster and faster until a strong pair of arms swoop in and catch her right at the last second. Jack Kelly smiles down at her as he holds her bridal style in his arms.

"Nice of you to drop in," Jack whispers and carries her away from the plank by flying up to the side of the ship. Race flies up next to Katherine and waves. Katherine smiles at him and quickly wraps her arms around Jack's neck. Jack catches her gaze with his and their faces start to move closer together. They're interrupted when a cry of...

"THERE WAS NO SPLASH!!! I WATCHED THAT GIRL JUMP OFF THE PLANK AND THERE WAS NO SPLASH!!" Snyder's voice rings out through the air. Jack sets Katherine down on the anchor chain and dives into the water just to make a splash.

"There she goes, Captain! That was the girl! Now you'll have no issue finishing off the boys," One pirate says reassuringly to Captain Snyder. Snyder rolls his eyes and yanks Davey up onto the plank.

"You're next, boy. Nothing's standing in the way of you jumping off the plank," Snyder growls at Davey. Jack gracefully flies back up out of the water and scoops up Katherine in his arms. She winces at his cold, wet body touches her. Why did he have to jump in the water? Nonetheless, Katherine loops her arms around his neck and Jack flies them up towards the crow's nest. Davey is being marched to the plank so Jack moves quickly through the air, staying out of sight as much as he can. Jack places Katherine in the crow's nest and then stands behind with his arms around her.

"You're warm," he whispers in her ear and before she can react, shouts starts to erupt from both the boys and the pirates down below. Jack flies away from her, leaving Katherine wanting him to come back to her, to see what is going on. Davey is now standing on the edge of the plank, trying not to fall off. Snyder has his sword drawn and aimed right at Davey's neck.

"Don't jump, Davey!" Crutchie cries from his place on the mast, "We'll get out of this somehow!"

"No you won't! You're my prisoners until you drown in this vast ocean! My patience is wearing thin, boy. You better make a choice before I run you through and then throw you in the drink!" Snyder demands. Davey looks over his shoulder at the ocean considering whether or not he should do it. If he jumps, there's the ocean. If he stays, there's the sad end of the swords of a bunch of really angry pirates. The pirates and the boys continue shouting and Snyder raises his sword to hit Davey.

Jack decides to intervene before the sword can actually strike his friend on the head. He sticks his fingers in his mouth and lets out an ear piercing whistle. The shouting stops immediately and Jack leaps out from behind the sail and onto the part where he is visible to the pirates.

"Snyder, you're the one I want dead. Leave Dave alone. He's got a great life ahead of him. Fight me! Kill me! I'm the one you want," Jack shouts, drawing his dagger from his belt. Snyder shoves through his own men and races to the edge of the ropes leading up to the masts.

"Come here, Kelly! I'll kill you in one swift swing of my sword!" Snyder cries. Jack flies down and immediately engages in a duel with Snyder. He tries to poke Snyder with his dagger but, Snyder is too quick and blocks Jack's poke. Jack and Snyder rapidly begin to duel, their swords clashing together at alarmingly close intervals. Davey looks nervous as the pirates begin to approach him again. Race flies over, turns into a human and using his own dagger, cuts Davey's ropes free. Davey draws his dagger and timidly starts to fight the pirates with Race.

"Prepare to eat some serious metal, you rotten treasure thieves!" Race shouts, "Your giant cleavers are no match for our daggers."

"Those are swords, not cleavers, Race," Davey corrects quickly.

"Swords, cleavers, what's the difference? They're both really big knives," Race reasons. Davey rolls his eyes and the pirates don't wait any longer before the fight begins for them as well.

Jack and Snyder are still in a fierce battle that is fairly evenly matched. Both are very good with their swords. Jack blocks all of the swings that Snyder sends his direction. Their swords continue to clash and Snyder spots an opening and swipes down Jack's arm causing him to bleed. Jack glares at the trail of blood running down his arm and continues his fighting with an even greater ferocity.

"You kidnapped my boys and Katherine and stole my treasure. I'm not okay with this, Snyder," Jack growls. Snyder swings at his dagger, trying to knock it out of Jack's hand. Jack blocks it, flies over to the mast where the rest of the boys are bound and cut their ropes. The boys scramble around the ship trying to find some sort of weapon.

"What do we do?" Jojo, who is new to the situation, asks innocently.

"We send these pirates down to Davey Jones' locker!" Les yells as he finds a gigantic sword.

"LES!!" Davey shouts from across the ship. Les wields the sword around as some pirates try to skewer him. Jack intervenes, sending the pirates crashing into a mast.

"They'se ain't very bright, especially when all they want to do is prove to some pretty ladies with tails that they..." Elmer starts as more pirates come to attack. Jack leaves the boys to them and goes back to dueling with Snyder.

"Keep it to a Les level!" Davey shouts from somewhere else in the ship. Eventually, all of the Newsies surround all of the pirates except for Crutchie, who is being picked on by a certain pirate. Crutchie, who normally just like to block the sword swings with his crutch, swings his crutch over his head and slams it on the pirate's head in one fluid motion. The pirate falls to the ground and Crutchie turns to the rest of them.

"Who's next?" he asks. The pirates raise their swords in anger but the boys reach forwards with their own swords that they either had or stole from the pirates and run at the pirates. The pirates swing their swords and fight with the boys. Race and Albert fight back to back, protecting each other from the other pirates. Les and Jojo run into the Captain's Quarters where the treasure is being held. Snyder spots them and runs after them in the middle of his fight with Jack. Jack flies after him especially when he sees the treasure. Les cuts open the chest with the baby pocket knife that Davey was convinced by Jack that Les should have. If it had been up to Davey, Les would not have a pocket knife, but Jack thought that it would be safer that way.

"What are we doing?" Jojo asks as they open the chest.

"Get away from the chest, you children," Snyder bellows, running at Les and Jojo. Jack flies in between the boys and Snyder. He stops Snyder's sword with his own and starts to duel with him to keep him away from the boys. Snyder swings hard at Jack in order to get rid of him and take care of the boys but, Jack swings his dagger hard enough in response that Snyder's sword clatters to the ground with a loud crash. Jack continues to point his own dagger at Snyder while scooping up Snyder's sword before Snyder can. Les and Jojo quickly fling open the chest and gasp.

"This is amazing!!" Les yells excitedly. Snyder runs at them again but Jack points both knives in Snyder's direction.

"Stay away from the kids, Snyder," Jack says quietly. Jojo pulls out an old looking scroll. He unfurls it and begins to read,

"To whomever finds this lamp, be careful how you use it. It holds great power, enough to take over the world. Be careful how you use this power because it may come back to bite you someday." Jojo and Les both look at the lamp.

"Come back to bite us?" Les asks as he turns the lamp over in his hands.

"That's what it says," Jojo replies, pointing to the part on the scroll where it says that. Snyder gets away from Jack and steals the lamp right out of Les' hands.

"Forget Pulitzer! I'm going to be the richest, most powerful man there ever was and no one will stop  me!" Captain Snyder bellows as he rubs the lamp quickly. A huge billow of smoke pours out and surrounds him. Snyder's sword comes flying out of Jack's hand and right into his own. As soon as the smoke clears, Jack is shoved up against the wall. He raises his dagger but spots the sword right at his neck. Jack swings down at the sword, clashing it with it his dagger. The two continue their fierce duel out and onto the plank until Snyder shoves Jack down onto the plank.

"Ugh!" Jack grunts as he hits the plank. Les and Jojo run after Snyder screaming for Jack. Jack raises his dagger, desperately trying to fend off the ruthless man.  He spots the lamp and quickly stabs it. It shatters into a million little pieces and a huge crocodile comes out. Jack takes to the skies as Snyder swings his sword at the crocodile. Race transforms back into a fairy and starts to sprinkle all of the boys with pixie dust. All of the boys fly off the ship as Snyder and the pirates begin to fight with the crocodile, who becomes more and more angry the more he is messed with. His large green tail snaps back and forth, knocking the pirate's feet out from under them and continuing to knock them into the water. Jack puts his dagger away, flies up to the Crow's Nest, and scoops Katherine up into his arms.

"Thank you," Katherine says as the crocodile chases the men lower and lower into the ship. She gently loops her arms around Jack's neck.

"Anything for Miss Pulitzer," Jack says with a grin. The boys are laughing at the pirates as they fight with the crocodile.

"See ya later, alligator!" Race shouts as he turns back into a human. Albert rolls his eyes at Race's joke. Some things never change. Jack and the boys fly back to their hideout. He sets Katherine down on the ground and she quickly throws her arms around him in a hug.

"Thanks for saving me. Not that I couldn't do it myself but, it's nice to watch someone else do it for a change," Katherine says softly. Jack starts to lean in closer but Katherine places a finger on his lips. He groans in disappointment.

"Well that was almost entertaining," Race comments and all of the boys glare at him.

"Katherine, you're going to go home and grow up. You're going to leave me here all by myself and I'll never grow any older," Jack whines, ignoring the rest of the boys. Katherine sighs and bites her lip.

"I guess that's part of growing up," she whispers, "Everyone leaves things behind that they never thought they would until it's too late. Jack, you're a fantastic friend and I'm glad I got to come here and see your island but, I have a whole life ahead of me."

"Will you visit?" Jack asks and Katherine smiles at him.

"Absolutely. I'll never forget you, Jack Kelly," Katherine replies.

Three years later, Katherine walks down the street from work. Three years ago, she woke up in her bed from a dream that seemed so real. She's been seeing this boy lately walking the street. He looks so familiar as if he was in one of her dreams once. The boy looks a bit older than he did in the dream if Katherine remembers, but not by much. Only by a few years, no more than five. Something changed in her that night when she woke up from that dream. Something different. There were men who her father wanted her to court but, she wasn't interested in any of them. She never understands why but something about them just isn't appealing or attractive. Her parents tell her that she's getting older and needs a suitable husband but since when has she played by the rules? Never. Katherine Pulitzer is an independent woman who can handle herself very well with no help of a man necessary. She keeps seeing this boy and in the oddest places too. He stands out because he's dressed poorer but always frequents the richer parts of town. Finally, she approaches him one day when she spots him leaning against the side of the building where the New York Sun resides.

"Do I know you? You seem to frequent this side of town often and I just don't understand why but, you look really familiar to me for some reason," Katherine states and the boy tips his Newsie cap up a little bit more so Katherine can see.

"Does this help?" the boy asks and Katherine throws her arms around him.

"Jack Kelly! You look older! What did you do?" Katherine asks and Jack gestures to himself.

"I grew up to be 20 years old," Jack says and Katherine raises an eyebrow.

"I told you not to grow up for me. I'm just a girl," she demands but Jack shakes his head.

"You'se no ordinary girl, Katherine. You'se got spunk," Jack says gently curling one of her ringlets around his index finger.

"Why did you grow up for me, Jack? I was prepared to move on with my life and not ever look back," Katherine asks while Jack continues playing with her hair.

"I want to marry you someday, Katherine Pulitzer. I want you to be mine," Jack says. He prepares to continue to provide reasons for why he stayed in New York for three years and refined his thievery skills but, he is cut off by Katherine smashing her lips against his. His hands quickly trail down to her waist as he kisses her back with a passion. Her hands reach up around his neck to play in his hair and Jack kisses her deeply. The two pull away when they hear a distinct clearing of some refined New York citizen's throat. Jack blushes and rubs the back of his face and Katherine quickly looks at the ground.

"Jack, would you like to get married today?" Katherine asks and Jack raises an eyebrow.

"Katherine, I ain't even got ya a ring yet. We'se ain't even engaged!" Jack exclaims and Katherine rolls her eyes.

"I've never played by the rules, Jack Kelly. Why should I start now?" she asks him and Jack shrugs his shoulders.

"I thought girls liked weddings," Jack says innocently before taking her hand in his own.

"They do. I suppose we could have a small one," Katherine says leaning her head against Jack's shoulder. Jack kisses the top of it and smiles at her.

"I would like that very much," he whispers, starting to fly in the air, "We should tell the boys."

"I'll go with you. From now on, take me to Neverland whenever you go," Katherine demands. Jack scoops her up in his arms, gently kissing her lips as he does. Katherine grins into the kiss and the two start flying. They keep kissing up until Jack almost crashes into a building, then they stop. The two fly away, off to Neverland, bound to embark on another adventure.

AN:/ Wow.....that was really really long. I thought it would be kinda long but, wow. That was a lot. Sorry this took so long to come out. My Christmas ones won't be that long, I promise. I'm kind of thinking of doing couples/"couples" skating. Did you catch all of the references to Aladdin? That last one was pretty blatantly obvious. I also couldn't resist having the crocodile be in the lamp. Why? I don't know...it just was. Race also had to be the fairy/pixie because it is a pre-requisite if Race is going to be in this story. I'm also sorry about the lack of female OCs that you all know and love in this one. They'll be around in the next one, which should be a Christmas one!!! Happy December, everybody!!! As for what's going to happen in the end, Katherine and Jack do wind up married in this AU. After a couple more Neverland adventures, they get married. This DOES NOT MEAN that they are married in the rest of the book though. Jack and Katherine will stay dating probably for the rest of this oneshot book because it's just easier to write for. I might do some married life AUs for them and some of our other "couples" but, not yet. I hope this one was funny. I tried to include a lot of the inside jokes that have been established. Thank you so much for reading!! I really appreciate what you guys comment and your thoughts in general on my writing. New books are on the rise as well as some updates(???). Updates will be soon, I hope. I'm just really hitting a plot block for There's A Life That's Worth the Living. I honestly don't know what to do with it. Anybody have any suggestions? I apologize for the lack of updates, you guys. It's been really busy lately and I have to figure some life stuff out too so, thanks for your patience. You all really are amazing and I hope that you know that. I'm hoping to put some more updates out during this holiday season!!! Have a great day, you guys!!! Thanks for all of your support for my writing!!
