Chapter Nineteen
The next two days were spent packing. We made arrangements with the movie studios, and moved all my doctor appointments. A break was just what we needed, and I was looking forward to the peace and quiet. We planned on hiring a part time nanny to help around the house, and to watch Annie for us. Some days, I struggled just staying on my feet, so this was going to be a big help.
"Jeremy, darling, I think I am just about ready to leave."
"Good, the car is all loaded. Annie has her movies and snacks, so she is all set."
"Sounds perfect. I'm ready... I think."
I got the dogs rounded up, and into the car as well, before checking the house over one more time.
"Rowan, are you alright?"
"Yes, I am... just tired."
"This trip will be good for you, for all of us."
"Yes it will."
He just smiled, taking my hand in his. We made our way out to the car after locking up the house. Annie was in the backseat, with one dog on either side of her, looking happy as she could be.
"Ready, kiddo?"
"Ready, Daddy."
Jeremy smiled again, starting the engine. We had a decent amount of driving to do before we reached the Lake Tahoe property, so Annie would most likely be sound asleep by the time we arrived.
We hadn't been on the road, for more than an hour, when I looked in the back seat to see Annie, Jay and Apollo all sound asleep.
"Well, our passengers are sound asleep... guess it gives the adults time to talk."
"I suppose it does. Is there anything specific that you are wanting to talk about Rowan?"
"I'm not sure... I'm just wondering how I am going to juggle Annie, and a baby... It's not going to be the easiest thing in the world, especially if I am planning on still doing some work."
"We will manage. I can always hire a full time nanny once we return to Los Angeles."
"That would be nice, to have an extra set of hands once the baby comes."
"I'll make the arrangements when I have the time. As for while we are in Lake Tahoe, you'll have the part time nanny to lend a hand."
"That will be really nice. Having another person to help will be really nice."
Jeremy just smiled. I was glad he was willing to be accommodating, because he knew how stressful it was for me to be in the spotlight, as well as being pregnant with baby number two. I knew that it was going to be an interesting time adjusting to all of this. But on the other hand, I knew that we were going to be okay. Everything would work out and our family would be fine.

The drive to Tahoe was pleasant. Jeremy and I discussed many different things, including where the nursery would be in our home. It was going to be interesting having two dogs, Annie, and a new baby under one roof. Not everyone would be getting the best of sleep, but we would make it work for sure.
Annie would still have her bedroom, and we would take one of the guest rooms and turn it into the nursery. The baby would stay with us for the first few weeks before being moved into the nursery. It would just take some rearranging, and decorating before the house in Los Angeles would be exactly the way I wanted it.
"Rowan, you are day dreaming."
"Sorry, darling. Just thinking about everything we are planning on doing once we get back to L.A."
"I know, but we are on vacation for a reason, and this was your idea, not mine."
"This is true. I'll get my head out of the clouds, and back to enjoying the trip."
He smiled, before pulling me into a hug.
"I love you, don't ever forget that, Rowan."
"And I love you too, Jeremy."
He pulled me over to sit on the sofa, to attempt to get me to relax. I knew this trip was going to be good. Annie was busy playing upstairs with the dogs, and I could hear everything so I knew she was fine.
"You know, part of me wants to just move up here."
"It'd be nice but we do have jobs back in Los Angeles. Maybe in a year or so. After this second baby comes, and we get settled into a good routine."
"That would be reasonable for sure. I know you have a lot in the city, and that moving up here would be quite a change."
"Yes it would. I'd have to figure out what to do with my house... I suppose I could just keep renting it like I do now. And our home, and we have a lot of things back in the city. It wouldn't be the easiest of moves, but it would be possible."
"Then let's plan on keeping it as something we would consider. Nothing is set in stone, but just something we could do down the road."
"I like that idea. This would be a good place to settle down to get away from everything that drives us crazy about living in the city."
Jeremy smiled, with a nod.
"That is one of the many reasons that I bought this property, and fixed up the house. I had always hoped that I would have a wife and children to bring up here. Now that I do, it makes all the hard work getting this place ready, worth it."
"I'm glad. I do really enjoy being up here. Its beautiful and Annie loves getting to run in a back yard."
I liked the privacy that being in Lake Tahoe gave us. I didn't have to worry about Annie getting photographed outside playing in the back yard. And it was just an all around quiet and safe place for us and our daughter.
