Chapter 6
"Oh. Uh, Hi Zak." Tim says as innocently as he possibly could as he slips his arms behind his back. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Well, we're doing an investigation in a town nearby and after your phone call we thought we'd come by and check on you." Zak says with a smile not knowing he might have just dug Tim's grave.
"Oh." Tim says as he nervously glances up at his cousin who was still glaring down at him. "So, who's your friend?" Tim asks turning his attention to the dark-haired lady and noticed that she had her eyes closed.
"I'm sorry." Zak apologized with a chuckle. "Tim, this is Amy Allen. She's a Paranormal Researcher and Physical Medium. In other words, she sees and talks to dead people."
"Interesting. But why does she have her eyes closed." Tim asks.
"Tim, Zak told me just a little about what happened. Only that your husband passed away a few months ago and that you think he's here." Amy says.
"What?" Rob asks as he looks at Chance with a shocked expression. Chance gives him a slight nod.
"That's all the information I want to know. He did fill me in on the problems you guys had a couple of years ago with spirits in this house. What I would like to do is to do a walk-through and see just what's going on. I know that you believe that it is your husband but there could be a portal in this house that a spirit might have slipped through. And it could be disguising itself as your husband, feeding off your energy. I just want to make sure." Amy says.
"Well, how do you expect to do that with your eyes closed?" Austin asks causing the medium to laugh.
"I've got my eyes closed because I know you probably have pictures setting around. I don't want to know what your husband looks like or anything about him." Amy says.
"But my bedroom is full of pictures." Tim says.
"That's why I want you to do me a favor. I need you to take down or cover any family photographs that might have your husband in them. Or anything that he might have owned that will interfere with my reading." Amy says. "Zak and Arron know what I mean by that and they can help you."
"I have a lot of pictures hanging up. It's going to take awhile." Tim says.
"That's fine. I'll come back tonight. If that's okay?" Amy smiles.
"Do we need to leave?" Avi asks.
"No, but I will need you to be as quiet as possible." Amy answers. "It's fine to ask a few questions during the walk-through."
"Maybe it's best that we need to go somewhere." Kelsey says as she looks around at Rob. "Lydia doesn't know to be quiet."
"We can go spend the night at my parents' house. Give them some time to spend with their granddaughter." Rod says and Kelsey nods in agreement.
"So what do you guys think?" Tim asks as he looks around at the others. He didn't want to agree to anything without their okay.
Avi went to get Adam from his hiding place and reassured him that Chance would not kill him.
"Well, we need to know if this is really Chris. If it's not, then we have a problem." Chance says as he adjusts his ball cap.
"I agree." Rob says with a nod.
"And we don't want to go through what we did last time." Austin adds.
"But wouldn't Adam be able to tell whether or not it's Chris?" Avi asks.
"Well, not necessarily." Zak answers. "Yes, Adam is sensitive but he's not really fully trained in using his ability. A spirit could very well fool him."
"That's kinda scary." Tim says as he looks around at his brother-in-law.
"Yeah, it is. No telling what we were communicating with." Adam says.
"So is that a 'yes'?" Amy asks.
"Most definitely." Tim nods.
"Arron, why don't you carry Amy back to her hotel room and I'll start helping them prep things for her walk-through." Zak says to his friend.
After the medium leaves, they start to take down all of the family pictures in the living room. Kelsey goes to pack herself, Rob and the baby an overnight bag.
"Wow." Zak chuckles as he follows Tim into his/Chris's bedroom. "You do have a lot of pictures."
"That's kinda all I have left." Tim sighs as he picks up Chris's pillow.
"Now, you don't know that for sure. There is definitely something here. I can feel it." Zak says with a nod. "It could very well be Chris."
"What about his clothes in the closet?" Tim asks.
"We can just cover them with a blanket." Zak says as he picks up Chris's cowboy hat. "Things like this or his caps laying there on the dresser is what she doesn't need to see."
Tim nods as he, along with Adam's help, begin to collect all of Chris's caps while Chance, Austin, Avi and Zak take down all the pictures hanging on the wall.
"I think that should do it." Zak says as he looks around to see if they missed anything.
"I'm really nervous and scared but excited." Tim says as he runs a hand through his hair. "I really don't know how I'm feeling."
"Tim, listen..." Chance says softly as he stoops down next to his cousin's wheelchair. "We have to know for sure. Chris has good reason to hang around. He loved you so much. He wants to continue to watch over you and protect you."
"It feels strange to look around and see no sign of Chris anywhere." Austin says as he glances around the room.
"It's heartbreaking." Adam adds with a nod. Avi slips his arm around his boyfriend's waist and kisses him lightly on the shoulder.
"If this is Chris, where do we go from here?" Tim asks after swallowing the lump that had risen in his throat.
"If it is Chris, then Arron and I have a surprise for you." Zak says with a smile.
"And if it's not?" Chance asks.
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it." Zak answers.
Waiting for Amy to return, they go to the kitchen and Kelsey fixes everyone a glass of tea before she and Rob leave with the baby.
The others sat around the table, catching up on things that had happened since they've last seen the investigator.
Zak gave Tim a slight warning about their friend, Peter. Zak told him that Peter had mentioned that he was thinking about coming by to see him. But Zak felt that his intentions were NOT to give his condolences.
Aaron called Zak to let him know that Amy was through with her meditation that would open her mind up to the spirit world and that they would be there soon.

"I know this is going to be very emotional for you guys. But I'm asking that you stay as quiet as possible." Amy says before she gets started. "If you feel the need to leave the house, please feel free to do so. But do it quietly."
She begins her walk in the living room. Aaron is filming her walk as the others follow quietly behind her. Chance is pushing Tim in his chair as Austin holds tightly to his boyfriend's arm. Adam grips Avi's hand as they follow closely behind them.
"He hangs out here quite a bit." She says as she looks around. "Mainly watching. But I don't feel that it's a negative presence."
"Can they see him?" Zak asks quietly.
"Uh..." She says as she slightly turns her head. "They may see him as a white mist. Or they may think they see a shadow out of the corner of their eyes."
Tim turns in his chair and looks at Adam. Adam smiles and nods.
She begins to walk toward Tim's bedroom.
"Ohhh." She says as she opens the door. "I see a man. He loves to stay in here a LOT." She says as she nods her head. "He's pretty tall maybe 6'1" or 6'2". Maybe in his mid to late thirties. He looks to be bald or used to be bald, but he's... he's wearing some sort of hat with a brim. He hasn't been dead long."
Tim covers his mouth with his hand as tears begin to roll down his cheeks. Chance lays his hands on his shoulders and gently squeezes them.
Adam lays his head over on Avi's shoulder as he wipes a tear.
She groans in pain as she rubs her chest.
"Something about his heart. I think he might have had heart problems that he didn't know about. Uh, I see a living male sleeping and the dead person is watching over him. Protecting him." She adds with a nod.

A/N: Amy Allen is a Physic Medium from the t.v. show "Dead Files". If any of you watch it then you know how she does her walk-through. If you don't, check it out. It's pretty interesting. One of my favorite shows.
